Edinburgh v Dragons: Buy Watson's try minutes for 1 point at 6 with SPIN Smith to score a try, 8 points at 15/2 with Lads Edges of 39.6% and 44.3%, both decent enough at those prices on their stats without being bets to get too enthusiastic about.

Wright was the player who scored a hat trick when I bought his try minutes last weekend so would prefer just a single early try from him this week!

Re: Rugby Union Tryscorer Bets One winner today, with Smith finding the only try of the game. Two so far for tomorrow. Hawkes Bay v Southland: O'Connor to score a try, 21 points at 14/5 with 365 Hardie to score a try, 13 points at 4/1 with VC Edges of 46.8% and 30.5%, it's a shame Hardie had been trimmed from the 5/1 shown on Oddschecker. Both appeal on their tryscoring stats though.

Otago v Manawatu: Buy Breen's try minutes for 1 point at 6 with SPIN Buy Black's try minutes for 1 point at 6 with SPIN Edges of 27.9% and 39.6%. Prices and stats in relatively short supply here but happy enough to risk a cheap buy of these two. Swerving Spence at 14 as can only convince myself the price is fair. I'm no expert on this sport but I am surprised to see Manawatu at odds against to win this match. Think I'll stick to the one market for now though!

Waikato v Bay of Plenty: McKenzie to score a try, 16 points at 13/4 with 888 Bardoul to score a try, 13 points at 5/1 with VC Edges of 32.1% and 56.5%, stats favourable, if pretty scant for the former.

Whilst I've got used to there being an early kick off in the ITM Cup on a Wednesday, it still seems to catch the bookies napping with very few prices on offer. That said, I've found the following that look eminently backable. Counties Manukau v Auckland: Buy Pulu's try minutes for 1 point at 13 with Spreadex Buy Anscombe's try minutes for 1 point at 10 with SPIN Buy Parkes' try minutes for 1 point at 8 with SPIN Edges of 17.9%, 28.5% and 30.9%, decent stats especially looking at more recent form. Could have made a reasonable case for both Nanai-Williams and Visinia at 15 but have decided to just play the 3 lower risk selections. Hopefully won't end up ruing my choice!

Running your own system is very time consuming but I'm trying to keep an eye on a few others. It should be easy enough to identify a few successful ones and start backing the selections as a sort of alternative unit trust! :eek

Fair to say I'd have been a bit disappointed if he'd been an anytime selection. Today the 3 shortest fixed odds bets obliged, which was welcome as they were carrying the biggest stakes. Pleasant surprise to see the last bet was a winner as the site I was following the scores on gave the first try to Yeandle rather than Waldrom. BBC show the former on their results page but the latter in the match report. Re: Rugby Union Tryscorer Bets Scarlets/Dragons: Buy G Davies' try minutes for 1 point at 14 with SPIN A 37.1% edge where I'd equate the buy price to 12/5 anytime versus 13/8 best available. Has 20 tries in 65 Pro 12 appearances and 39 starts. Looking at just this season and the previous 2 those numbers are 16 in 39 and just 24 starts. Fixed odds look to have this right to me and anything better than 2/1 looks very backable.

Close to the maximum 6 selections per game here and a higher than usual chunk of bank at risk but all make enough appeal to back. VdM is odds on with every other firm.

Wright's hat trick will hopefully put a rosy glow on this week's update, with his try minutes making up at 144! McGahan also scored a try. Just time to look at one more of this evening's games before turning attention to tomorrow.

Re: Rugby Union Tryscorer Bets A bit frustrating, after a 12 try match, to only have a push to show for it courtesy of Visinia's 15th minute try. Webber went off at 11/4 as well, possibly as a result of a general drift on all things Waikato in the run up to kick off. Time to look at tomorrows matches now.
