This season Liverpool are averaging 31 booking points at home and Everton are averaging 38 away from home, whilst Martin Atkinson averages 37 booking points (with only 3 red cards in the last 40 Prem games). Re: Liverpool v Everton > Tuesday January 28th I'd be surprised if both Jagielka and Distin didn't make it tonight, also John Stones has looked quite impressive when called upon so I'd have no qualms with him starting with (preferbly) Jagielka or Distin. If Colemans ruled out anf both Jags and Distin make it, I'd expect Stones at right-back over Hibbert. I wouldn't read too much into Liverpools defensive injuries, Toure seems to be first choice when fit and Skrtel isn't a bad replacement for Agger. I know Johnson is out but don't particularly rate him as a defender.

My tissue (based on the last season and half worth of data) has Liverpool at 11/8, the draw at 9/4 and Everton at 12/5, taking into account the bookies margin I expected to see Liverpool at a shade of odds against. Given the above, the draw and Everton are overpriced. Recommended Bet Everton +0.25 @ 11/8 Bet365 Goals Matches at Anfield have averaged 2.9gpg since August 2012, with the hosts being responsible for 2.1 of those. Away from Goodison Evertons matches average 2.3gpg with Everton responsible for 1.2. Running those numbers through my spreadsheet gives me a goal expectation of 2.8 with Over 2.5 coming out at 10/11 with the Unders 11/10. The last 5 derbies at Anfield have averaged 2.0gpg. It is possible that the bookies have overreacted to the free-flowing 3-3 draw at Goodison earlier in the season, but I also need to consider Everton's clear philosphy change under Martinez that may not yet be fairly reflected by my spreadsheet. Taking all into consideration, a defeat for either side here will severly impact that sides chances of a Champions League place so it may pay to swim against the tide on this one. Platanais are 1-5-1-9-10 at home, 2-1-3-5-6 in their last 6 and 0-4-3-6-12 against top half sides. Xanthi don't have a great away record with 1-2-4-8-14 but this is there first game against a bottom 5 side. They are 2-2-2-8-7 in there last 6 and 4-1-2-14-7 against the bottom half.

Only positive to take from that is that if there is a rematch, you'll get a juicier price about the Burns KO. I'll certainly be on that again after Burns stating in his interview he spent the best part of 11 rounds making sure he didnt get hit in his jaw rather than getting his punches off.

I’m not a Burns fan but I consider him one of the best 2/7 shots you will ever see - I make him more like 1/10. Tomato can has a 4(1)-3(1) record at lightweight, last 2 opponents are 43-16(7). His only stoppage at the weight came against a guy whose record was 10-8(2)! He’s done 10 rounds a number of times but never twelve and only ranked by the WBO. Burns enjoys a height and reach advantage, boxed nearly 100 more rounds and fought better opposition. Re: League Two 2013/14 > Winner I've had a nibble of Cheltenham at 20s. Firstly, my projections have them top by two points but I'll do a separate thread on them next week. They were beaten in the play offs last term by Northampton and finished the regular season with a record of 9-9-5-26-19. Of the teams that remained in the division only Chesterfield conceded fewer goals. They have lost a few players over summer - notably Pack, Carter, Mohammed and Harrad, but they have added goals to their team with the signings of Cureton and Vincent, hopefully another new boy Richards will fill the void left by Pack.

Considering the reputation of players they brought in during the summer, Sandhausen definitely don't look like a third-league side. Player for player, they're actually even a better side than Aalen at the moment. Zabavnik(Mainz), Kulovits(Rapid Wien), Olajengbesi(Alemannia Aachen), Jovanovic(MSV Duisburg),...have all joined the team and they're absolutely the top players at this level with massive experience, plus they've managed to keep the likes of Loning, Achenbach, Adler, Morena,... IMO, Sandhausen are by far the better side than Aalen and I expect them to finish above them at the end of the season. I can definitely see them avoiding the relegation without any kind of problems.

I only wish I'd seen this before I placed my bet!! Hindsight and all that!

Re: Bundesliga 2 Outright I've been reading some German newspapers recently and Union Berlin (49/1) and Energie Cottbus (19/1) seem to really fancy their chances this season after finishing 7th and 8th last season and making improvements to their squads over summer. Week 1 Sandausen should have been relegated last season but stay in the division on a technicality, unless something has been lost in translation it seems it has only been confirmed in the last few weeks which division they will actually be playing in - it sounds as though they were preparing the squad to play in Bundesliga 3, the media is also tipping them to be relegated again this season. On that basis, I managed to get Aalen at 9/5 last night (around 7/5 now) for the away win. I read a quote from Koln manager that he will only play 1 holding midfielder this season (they played 2 last season) and look to excite the fans, I've took a chance that their game will go Over 2.5 goals at even money - its odds on with most firms.
