  1. Hills and betfair are offering player of tournament and winning team doubles.

The last 6 winners of the player of the tournament have played for the winning team,

also 5 of the 6 were midfielders, as follows in reverse order:

griezman, iniesta, xavi, zagorakis, zidane, sammer.

I fancy france to win and think pogba and kante are decent shouts for the accolade.

    Selections:

france and pogba 80/1 betfair sportsbook

france and kante 50/1 hills (your odds france)

SPIN and SX at odds over Foden's tournament goal minutes quote, the former go 55-70 but the latter just 27-42.

I'd probably be a buyer at 42 but I'm happy enough with my interest in him via the GB index. (If you want to avoid the randomness of when he scores any goals then his total goals look cheap at 0.8 too; SPIN's quote has him in for more like 1.4 goals.)

    cheers @harry_rag bought at 0.8

Diogo Jota is a risk because of the Group of Death they are in but it's also potentially worth backing because I still think Portugal will endure this tournament. France to win and Harry Kane to win top scorer at 50/1 is an incredible price!

it may be the group of death @StevieDay1983but the top 4 3rd place teams qualify so all the big 3 in that group should progress

OK, that sounds good. I think he's being lined up as a potential successor to Wilson and Williams in the AM role or maybe out wide. Reckon he could play those roles?

He obviously doesn't have the same sort of quality as harry wilson and doesn't tend to be on free kicks for us but probably best playing behind kieffer moore in a support role.

He can play wide but is not going to get by his man through pace more trickery.

On a different note, we've been linked with Josh Windass. I've always liked him as a player but obviously you'll have a more informed opinion of him. How has he been for you?

I think he's decent. He's not a target man (which is how we used him last saturday), but decent skill and an eye for goal, not the quickest but effective.

  6. hi @StevieDay1983

i watched wednesday v forest on saturday and it was a gutless performance with a lack of technical ability also. The team selection and formation was pretty clueless also.

Harris played on the left and his first touch was poor. Every time Green got the ball he gave it away. Rhodes did not start and Patterson was played as a wing back ffs. I subsequently found out that the salaries have not been paid for the last 2 months . Rotherham need a win from their last 2 matches to relegate us, lets see if they can manage that . If they don't win tonight, i can't see us winning at Derby.

  7. Hi @StevieDay1983

Brentford have alot of injuries : Toney, Forrss, Marcondes, Rico Henry, Dasilva struggling with a thigh injury and have lost the last 3

so i wouldn't be rushing to back them at odds on. We are however talking about a very well run club and at the other end of the spectrum an utter shambles. Normally i'd expect a 3 or 4 goal win for Brentford but i think it will be close and wednesday are probably the value but i won't be getting involved

  8. Hi @StevieDay1983

The swansea game didn't go ahead because the boiler for the undersoil heating is broken apparently. How pathetic, the club deserves a punishment for this.

My boss is a stoke fan and he is very downbeat about them in fact he thinks they could get drawn into a relegation battle. They are 11 points clear at present i think.

Based on his views i backed them at 150/1 with b365 to be relegated. I won't be betting on the game- i'm trying to bet less as i have less money at the moment.

  9. Hi @StevieDay1983 while we have won our last 3 games under the caretaker manager we have continued to play poorly. Add to this a covid outbreak leading

to 2 games being postponed i would not be optimistic. We also have a chairman who is taking his time over appointing a new manager (maybe waiting for the end of the transfer window) so he has an excuse for not signing players. We have signed free agent Andre Green but no idea if he's any good and a winger is not what we required.

Happy days the sooner the chairman sells up or runs out of money the better.

Any idea what the reason is for the players not being paid for November, @waynecoyne? It's a very worrying state of affairs. As you know, Sheffield Wednesday are a team I hold close to my heart so I hate seeing all this negative stuff happening to them. I agree with you. At the moment, backing Wednesday seems like betting self destruction!

Hi Stevie-this is not the first time this has happened. I think that Chansiri probably doesn't have as much money as people think, or is getting to a point where he doesn't want to keep funding the losses. The whole club is a basket case and it is mainly to do with him making poor decisions. I can think of very few good decisions he has made.

I'm hoping he sells up but he's already put in over £100m and has an unrealistic view of the value of the club so doubt he would find a buyer at the price he wants.

I can see this all ending up in the club going into administration, but how far away that is i don't know.

  11. Sheffield Wed v Coventry

i have just heard part of Tony Pulis's press conference and he said that dominic iorfa, julian borner, joost van aken and massimo luongo would not be fit for saturday. This is in addition to other injured payers: westwood, marriott, and aden flint.

That list includes 4 centre halves.

Wednesday are on a losing run and also the players have not been paid in full for november.

In the light of this i will be backing Coventry at around 2/1

    Stoke vs Cardiff

OK, so Cardiff are the team that just keep on surprising me at the minute and I say that as a Cardiff fan! Next up, it's another set of midweek games and it's Stoke hosting Cardiff at the Bet365 Stadium in a 7:45pm GMT kick-off on Tuesday night. Both teams are pushing toward the top end of the Championship table so can either team prevail from this with all 3 points?

Stoke currently sit in 5th place and are only 3 points off the summit in the second tier of English football. Michael O'Neill is now fulfilling the potential his team showed last season. Just 1 defeat from their last 6 league games has helped propel them up the table and the back-to-back wins against Wycombe away and Middlesbrough at home have brought a pair of clean sheets to make it 3 clean sheets in a row. It is the fact that the Potters back-line is now tightening up that is helping the club pick up those victories and build up some decent form.

Cardiff had looked in deep trouble a couple of weeks ago but three wins in the league on the bounce has moved the Bluebirds up to 11th position and just 4 points outside the play-offs. Neil Harris has seen his team keep clean sheets in all three of those victories and suddenly his job isn't looking under threat so much. Striker Kieffer Moore is enjoying a purple patch of goals having bagged 8 in the league this season including 4 in his last 3 starts. The performances have been a lot more disciplined but it begs the question why we didn't have this energy, organisation, and work rate earlier in the season? Has adding the young Mark Harris to the line-up really been enough to inspire the older players? It seems a bit odd.

Had this game been played two weeks ago then I'd be fearing that Cardiff could be in for a disappointing evening. After the past three performances, I'm back to feeling we can give anyone a game. These two teams have kept 15 clean sheets between them this season and with Cardiff seeing less than 2.5 goals scored in 7 of their 8 away league games this season I wouldn't expect a thriller. I genuinely wouldn't be surprised to see a 0-0 and if one team is going to win it then it'll be by the odd goal. I am backing a draw though and it won't be an exciting one.

    Draw @ 3.20 with BetVictor

Total Goals Scored Under 2.5 @ 1.68 with SBK

stoke have apparently 10 injuries after boro were over physical with them including fletcher, clucas, obi mikel. So i would tend toward cardiff or the draw
