Only if your name's not on their naughty list unfortunately!
It's a decent offer right enough, I know a few other firms do it but only in a dedicated market at slightly reduced odds, I'd be interested in the maths in terms of how much of a worse price it's worth taking to get the extra protection it offers. Obviously most teams who go 2 up will go on to win.
There's also the option to lay the team at short odds when they go 2 goals up.
i think when i put it on they were best price at 9/5. They don't offer lower odds for the early payout.
What i meant was if they are 7/4 and others 2/1 i would rather take 7/4 with the early payout.
Ironically it drifted out to 2/1 (i was expecting barnsley to shorten when the teams were announced).
As for being on the naughty list i must put enough mug bets on not to be on that.
-
A little footnote to backing barnsley
I did it with bet365 who pay out if a team takes a 2 goal lead but they don't settle for about 15 mins and quote lower cash outs up to settlement.
So if you have an account with bet365 and they are offering early payout it is well worth considering even if you can get better odds elsewhere.
Had they not paid out early there would have been a rollercoaster of emotions with wednesday pulling back to 2-2 before conceding 2 in the last 10 minutes.

Wednesday will probably be missing byers and gregory james and windass picked up knocks on friday.
Byers and Windass have been important players recently and James is accomplished.
I fancy Barnsley to break our 23 game unbeaten run. I have backed them at 9/5 and fancy 2-0 at 14/1
-
i have also backed trossard at 16/1 top belgium goalscorer as lukaku likely to miss the group stages
thorgan hazard was also considered at 25 but went with trossard

I have had an ew bet on uruguay at 50/1 betway on the basis that if they top their group they should have an easier passage. I'm against portugal on the basis that
ronaldho will be a disruptive influence and more detriment than asset.
Messi topgs and brazil winners at 90/1
martinez top gs and argentina at 100/1
martinez and brazil at 150/1
a few fun bets put on with bet 365
also done martinez at 25 and richarlison at 33 top goalscorer
For anyone backing Argentina at short odds Messi for the golden ball may be a better option

sheffield wednesday v rotherham
george byers has 2 goals in his last 3 games for wednesday.
Unibet's prices are out of line-
Bets: Byers to score anytime 15/1 2 points
byers first goalscorer 33/1 1/2 point

i'm going to try a relegation treble again
i got this wrong last year by selecting villa instead of sheffield united
The four obvious candidates to me (and four shortest in the betting)
are watford norwich brentford and crystal palace. Patrick Vieira was obviously a top class player but that might not translate into management.
He had a spell in the USA and then for Nice, where he was sacked after a 5 game losing run. He does not come across as particularly insightful in his tv appearances
and i think he will take Palace down. I'll add watford (who look the weakest) and Norwich on the basis that Brentford may just surprise people but this is probably a coin toss.
Relegation Treble
watford, norwich, palace 25/1 skybet

Crystal Palace
Apologies, I got side-tracked by the return of the English Football League this weekend but I'm back on the previews here! The next team I'm looking at are one who are more of the interesting teams this season in the Premier League. Crystal Palace have taken the bold decision of appointing former New York City FC and Nice manager Patrick Vieira as their replacement for the outgoing Roy Hodgson. The last time they took such a risky decision was when they made Frank de Boer their manager and that didn't go particularly well did it?!
There is an argument to say that Palace over-performed under Hodgson. The former England manager made the most of his limited squad but there was still a feeling that with the right additions this Eagles team could go a step further. Vieira has emphasised the need to get their best players into the game more but that's easier said than done. You look at this Palace team and it has its fair share of quality players including Wilfried Zaha, Luka Milivojevic, and Eberechi Eze but it lacks depth. Vieira has looked to address this by bringing in Michael Olise from Reading, Marc Guehi from Chelsea, and Joachim Andersen from Lyon. There is a feeling he's also not done yet with his transfer activity. He's dispensed with a lot of the dead wood in the team such as Wayne Hennessey, Stephen Henderson, Scott Dann, and Connor Wickham but the departures of Mamadou Sakho, Gary Cahill, James McCarthy, Andros Townsend, and Patrick van Aanholt will raise eyebrows given this lack of depth the squad possesses.
This is an appointment that I really want to work for Palace. I have a soft spot for Vieira and I think he has all the attributes to become a fine manager. He's not really made any real impact as a manager so far but with the right resources and if he can get his best players playing to their full potential then you feel he could do a decent job at Palace. I'm going to give him the benefit of the doubt and back a solid campaign.
My Prediction: 12th
this one looks a bit optimistic @StevieDay1983 vieira a big risk, eze out til december

Time to cash out of this i think.
Wednesday have signed recently;
Peacock-Farrell and Lewis Wing. Also theo corbeanu from Wolves a 19 year old Canadian international.
Florian Kamberi on loan from St Gallen and George Byers from Swansea. It may take a while for them to gel but i have changed my mind on relegation prospects.

The heats for the womens 100m were run yesterday morning and it looks like it is a fast track.
Ta lou broke her personal best in 10.78 and was fastest but she always seems to run hard.
Fraser-pryce and thompson herah ran 10.84 and 10.82 and were running within themselves. Visually
Elaine thompson was most impressive of the trio but she is a more elegant runner than fraser-pryce.
Asher smith ran over 11 seconds and came second after 12 staright victories this year so i wonder if she has an injury
worry- (she pulled out of a meeting at gateshead with a tight hamstring).
Fraser-pryce was also not wearing the latest nike spikes and was talking about running 10.5 or 10.6 in the final.
I will try a straight forecast with skybet fraser-pryce gold thompson silver at 9/4

I suspect any match bet would probably be odds on for both teams, you might get evens Norwich at a push. Odds against for either team might offer a bit of value. While Norwich are 1500/1 in a couple of places, both teams are easy to back at 1000/1. The spread firms pretty much have both in for 36 or 37 points.
SX are up with their player goals/assists spreads, hopefully @waynecoyne might find something of interest there. I had a quick look at the Burnley player goals spreads where Wood is rightfully favourite at 9.5-11. I wondered if someone else might be value e.g. Barnes at 6.5 or Rodriguez at 5.5 but no-one else scored more than 3 in the league last season. Both of those 2 have scored in pre-season friendlies but Wood is at the Olympics and Vydra has had a break post-Euros. Vydra was the favoured partner for Woods at the end of last season but there's no quote for him. Might be of interest at a 5.5 or 6.5 line on spreads or fixed odds.
Last season I lost a bet on Havertz scoring 10+ goals at odds of 6/5. He didn't have the best debut season and I expect better this time. Might be a bet at a similar line and odds (SX quote him at 9.5-10.5).
I'm not much of a one for season long bets but I might have one or two if any appeal. Will have a trawl over the coming days.
hi @harry_rag
just had a quick look josh dasilva a possible buy at 3.5 for brentford
kieran tierney 1.3 to buy for arsenal if playing wing back, (rather than centre back in a three) would be of interest

Sounds like Vincent Tan with us in the Premier League. In more positive news, you've just signed Lewis Wing and he's far too good for League One.
he's a good player
also signed bailey peacock farrell
not seen much of him but remember some clangers for leeds before bielsa got rid
to counter that burnley fairly canny in the transfer market

I heard a story today which gives an indication of the way the club has been run. Carlos Carvahal has revealed that when he was appointed the person who had the final say
was Chansiri's son Att, then aged 11 or 12.

Interesting. I hope you don't go down again. Really got a soft spot for you boys. I don't think you will. There are a few much worse teams in League One this season.
its all highly speculative at this stage @StevieDay1983-i just thought the price was wrong.
We do have some decent players-Bannan (rumoured to be off) Windass (injured already) Luongo and Iorfa (injured for most of last season)
but i think we'll have a poor start as we have not recruited many (4) and lost 15. Also we have 2 poor goalkeepers and no obvious forward.

womens 100m
shelly ann fraser pryce ran 10.63 in june and says she is looking forward to going even faster in tokyo.
The world record is 10.49 to drug cheat florence griffith joyner .
She is best priced 11/10 but i will take evens with skybet .
Barring injury or disqualification she should win this.

i seem to do this every year
but following a car crash of a club seems like an opportunity
sheffield wednesday have lost 15 players and signed 3
the wages were not paid for many months and a suspended points deduction looms
6 points the next time the idiot of a chairman fails to pay
13/1 with betfair but you wont get more than 38 on
why do they call themselves book makers when they won't take a bet

one final bet for me:
England to win in extra time 10/1 skybet
with the defensive line up from England i can see a draw at 90 mins and grealish making the difference in extra time
-
i'm expecting rioting if england lose, i drove past 2 italian restaurants close to me and thought will they have their windows put in tomorrow ?
i expect the midfield battle to be critical. we have 2 defensive dogs who i think will be outplayed by italys midfield.

England
They have scored 9 goals but conceded only 1 goal this season so far, which shows their potential. They reach their first major final of the Tournament since 1966. Although they get into final by a controversial penalty in last game, undoubtedly they can not be ignored as they have home advantage and a lot of excellent players.
Italy
They are one of the most amazing team this season as there is no big-money players of Italy. The victories over Belgium and Spain impresses people most. They have never gone behind this season yet and come to victories in the end with a bit of luck. They have one more day than England to prepare for upcoming game.
Verdict:
England are not in good condition as they suffer from controversial penalty in last game. Italy are in high morale and full of ambitions. It is predicted that they will draw with each other in 90 minutes.
Prediction: 1-1, 1-2
ITALIA!!!
lets hope for a more competent referee and use of var this time

mark langdon in the racing post has tipped the following:
maguire first goalscorer 33/1
emerson first goalscorer 80/1
emerson anytime goalscorer 40/1 all hills
reasoning is the left back for italy is encouraged to get forward (spinazzola until injured) emerson not as good but hit the bar in the semi final from 3 attempts on goal
only kane and sterling have had more attempts on target than maguire who had 3 v denmark

Maguire showed his value at set pieces in the semi final and could pose a similar threat against Italy. Both PP and Sky Bet have him at 7/2 for a header on target and 40/1 for 2 or more. The gap between him and Stones may not be big enough to justify the latter firm having him at 10/1 and 250/1 for the same eventualities. (Paddy have both of them at 7/2.)
skybet have a boost England to win in 90 mins 3/1 (£10 max)
Following the 2+ headed shots on target theme (i'm assuming @harry_rag2+ means 2 or more)
maguire 2+ headers on target 40/1
stones 2+ headers on target 250/1
chiellini 2+ headers on target 350/1
bonucci 2+ headers on target 350/1
all to low stakes obviously

cheltenham play sheffield wednesday tonight having won 3-0 away at peterborough and beaten exeter 3-1 at home.
Wednesday lost 4-2 at barnsley and 1-0 at forest green on sunday in their last two games. On sunday famewo and vaulks were rested
and introduced in the second half. They are likely to be starting tonight. Byers and Windass are still both missing and likely to be so the forseeable future.
Wednesday showed spirit at barnsley to come back to 2-2, however the performance at forest green was lacking both method and passion. The squad lacks depth, is ageing and also lacks pace.
Wednesday may bounce back but i am surprised to see cheltenham at 19/4 with coral which looks good value.
bet: cheltenham 19/4 coral
