Re: Best Bet Of The Day - 04/02/08 Southwell 3:20 My Friend Fritz Had a very good run LTO, 370 days ago - 3rd of 9, beaten 7.50 lengths. It's been a while but it was a very good run for himself. He finished 6 lengths clear of the fourth horse. THe front two was the 6-5 joint favorite and they both outran My Friend Fritz in the closing stages. The winner entered that race seeking the hat trick and got it then won two more. Second horse was unraced the rest of the year but returned with a winning run this year. I think the price is good enough to take even with the long layoff. The last runner to go the 1m4f trip here for trainer P W Hiatt won by 5 lengths. 3pts ew @ 14-1 Blue Square

O'Neill has 5 wins from 8 runs for the year. Debut runners has one win and second-place this year. 10pts win @ 3-1 Bet365 BOG Lingfield 2:10 Wynberg He's made good progress this year, winning his last two runs after starting the year with an 8th and 3rd. His latest was raced at at Kempton but the distance was 6f so today should not have a problem with the trip. The field does not appear too strong and he is the Racing Post Forececast 4-5 favorite. Wynberg has been the best horse for trainer S A Callaghan so I think he is well prepared for today. 10pts win @ 1.90 Betfair Lingfield 2:10 Talamahana Won LTO but going to need to battle Wynberg for the win today. He is dropped 1f today after his 1 length win at Wolverhmapton 10 days ago. He's was backed the favorite in the previous two runs before his win and was as low as 2-1 then. He did not give what was expected then but today looks good to once again expect a winning run. Wynberg will be tough but the weights are set at 9-8 for him and Talamahana at 8-13. Trainer S Kirk has won 5 of last 6 runs but also going to back Wynberg just in case Talamahana fails to finish first. 10pts win @ 5-2 Bet365 BOG Lingfield 2:40 Gimme Some Lovin Had her best effort in this Class LTO - 2nd of 10. That race was for 7f (here) and she was unable to catch the winner losing by a neck. She did however ran very well and suggests this first time a 1m is suitable. Trainer D W P Arbuthnot has been in very good form since Gimme Some Lovin last raced. Arbuthnot with the all weather and NH runners has a form of 4-5-1-2-5-1-4-1 the past 11 days. 10pts win @ 7-4 Bet365 BOG Lingfield 3:10 Baileys Outshine Won 5f event at Wolverhampton LTO. The second and third-placed horses was Sand Crooner and Pegasus Dancer. It was Baileys Outshine's best run for a while, first win since last May (8 runs). 15 of her 18 runs ahve been at the 5f trip but her 6f form is respectable at 3rd of 10, 3rd of 17, and 3rd of 7. It was last may since her last 6f run but if raced like last time I think she is well capable of winning today. Trainer J G Given has two wins and two second-place finishes from the last five runners. Jockey Jim Crowley was on board for one run and that was a winning effort. Crowley enters the day with two wins and one third from his last three runs. 5pts ew @ 17-2 Sporting Bet Lingfield 3:40 Fresh Mint Course debut. Best of these by form alone - 1-1-2-1-1 since last November - Kempton in first two and Wolverhampton the last three. This is also her first run in a Class 4 but she should have enough to give today. Her last two have been against 4 and 5 rivals and she won by 3.50 and 2.50 lengths The previous three was against 9 to 12 rivals and her winning margin at around 1.25 and 1.75 lengths. Jockey Jamie Spencer was on board last time and will be on again today. 10pts win @ 9-4 Bet365 BOG Lingfield 4:10 Sir Douglas Finished 4th of 8 LTO, beaten 3 lengths by the winner Xpress Maite. That day was in a Class 5 handicap (0-75) so the field was tougher than the Class 6 Claiming Stakes today. His last run in Claiming company was good enough for a win earlier this year. He defeated Obe Royal and One More Round tha day. 5pts ew @ 9-1 Betterbet Lingfield 4:40 Lord Of Dreams Has to be considered despite poor effort lasto time out - finished 6 of 8, beaten 6 lengths at C&D 9 days ago. That race was a Class 5 Handicap (0-70) with the pace not being to his favor and the winner was 4 lengths clear of second-place. It was also his first run since last November. I think he'll be more fit for today and with his last win at this course and distance gives him a chance for today. 5pts ew @ 9-1 Blue Square

Re: PL_Crewman | Sports-Punter Specialist Southwell 1:20 Sophia Gardens Won last two runs - 7f and 1m here. Both with jockey Chris Catlin, on board again today. She was the one who officially handed Dado Mush his first defeat after winning four in a row - Sophia Gardens was 8.50 lengths ahead of Dado Mush who finished 3rd. She was also able to defeat J R Boyle's 15-8 favorite Sweet Pickle to start the year at this course, 7f. Crebus was also in the race, finished 3rd. I think the drop in trip will suit Sophia Gardens, her time in the 7f win was slow by 0.11s by RP Standard and the 1m run was 1.87s slower than the RPS. 10pts win @ 6-5 Bet365 BOG Southwell 1:50 Louisiade Has won two of last three runs. Those two was raced at this course and distance while the non-winning run was a visit to Wolverhampton. A return here looks very goo for a win even with the penalty to deal with. The field have not shown consistency with their form and only the co-topweight has a win from their last 9 runs. Trainer John Harris has two wins from eight at this course this year. Should too good especially after defeateing 4-6 favorite Another Genepi LTO, 4 days ago. 10pts win @ 1-1 Sportingbet Southwell 2:20 Rebellious Spirit In good shape this year and would not be a surprise if he wins today. With the exception of his walk over win he has finished second-place in two runs this year. Both at 1m, Southwell and Kempton. He lost to Hucking Heat on the first run this year but his form coming into that was very poor compare to the matchup today. LTO was at Kempton and just ran into a M Bottin that day - Botti does very well at Kempton, 10 wins from 44. Nothing much to worry about his condition appears to be improving into a winning run. 10pts win @ 3-1 Bet365 BOG Southwell 2:50 Ski Sunday Course debut. Really doing well this year - 7-2-1. He was the 11-10 favorite for his winning run 8 days ago. Jockey on board for today is the same as LTO, Steve Drowne. Trainer M A Jarvis has been doing very well lately - 1-3-1-2-1-4-2 the past 10 days. Jockey Phillip Makin returns. Together their form is 4-3-3-3-10-4-1-3-2 going back to 2004. The last three was raced last November, December, and last month. Blue Hills has finished 3rd or better in 11 of 18 runs at this course - 3-5-3 (W-2-3). Trainer P W Hiatt is the most experienced at this course among all trainer in this event - 159 runs (20 wins) and 68 is the second most. 10pts win @ 11-4 Bet365 BOG Southwell 4:20 Union Jack Jackson Has been away for 209 days but trainer form for the year is worth the risks with this one. Trainer John A Harris has 4 wins from 19 this year - 4-3-2-2 (W-2-3-4). Three wins was raced here from eight runs. Jockey scheduled is Stephen Donohoe. Donohoe has 6 wins from the last 13 runs. The last three runs by Donohoe at this course ended in a win - from same span of the 6 from 13. Total of 4 wins from the last 5 at this course for Donohoe going into today. 3pts ew @ 18-1 Blue Square

A few things to work on... Having alot of problems with the "Maiden Claiming" races - mostly due to the first 5 selections being a loss. The total for all MC selections has 8 runs for 1 win, total loss of 10.90pts - all other maiden selections has 13.10pts profit from 5 selections. Claiming races and Optional Claiming races post a loss of 9.70pts from 8 bets (1-3-1) WPS. Selections for Stakes races now has two wins from three for a profit of 12.70pts after Love Co won the Glory in Motion Stakes today by 12.75 lengths. No racing until the 6th.

Re: Sports Punter 2008 - RussP wins jan 08 :clap RussP - Today was costly for me. Only one win from 10 (74pts staked) and lost 10pts from all that. The other loss was the bet on Sir Lion - did not have time to post into Sports Punter but :\ it's a mistake that is easily correctable.

Spencer has not been in a winning attitude yet so I think he's worth taking on. Only a neck behind Bous last month in a Listed even here, field of 13. Followed that up with a 9th of 11 but did not have jockey T G McLaughlin that day. McLaughlin is back for today. Together, Carcinetto and McLaughlin has a form of 3-1-1-5-1-2. Unproven at this trip but I think she can last based on her last run here - prominent, effort to challenge over 1f out, chased winner after, closed last 100yds, just held. 2pts ew @ 33-1 totesport Kempton 3:50 St Savarin Outsiders of this race should ot be counted out. Re: Kempton 03/02/08 Kempton 1:50 Sir Loin Course and Distance runner with the two raced this year - 1st of 9 and 4th of 7. His 4th placed finish was a good run and just lost the race in the last 50 yards to Earl Compton. Jockey Ross Atkinson, on board the two this year, is on again set to be back today. Sir Lion has usually done well here so I think he's worth to go with at the price offered. 14-1 Sportingbet

Morris teams up with jockey James Doyle for the first time. Doyle has been placed or won in four of the last eight runs - all here for 1-1-2 (W-2-3). The four that won or placed for Doyle had SP's of 2-1 (1st), 16-1 (2nd), and 10-1, 9-1 for 3rd. Lord Orpen has little form to offer but showed he's an improved runner this year based on his 6th of 7 effort 2 days ago, beaten 9.75 lengts. That race was a Class 6 Handicap (0-55) and was sent there from 150 days off. He is taken down a Class so I think he's not out of it. His experience prior to last time was for 9 runs with the closest distance to the winner being 9.50 lengths. 5pts ew @ 9-1 totesport Kempton 2:20 The Slider Beaten just 2.75 lengths at this course 11 days ago, Class 7. Previous run was also here for a defeat by 26 lengths 10 days earlier, Class 6 handicap. A return to this level is ideal and the shorter trip is likely to help with the last run being ended by weakening the in the final furlong. Only has one career run for experience, Newmarket Class 4 maiden 190 days ago for trainer R Charlton. She is now with trainer Jane Chapple-Hyam after being fetched for 14,000gns last October. Her sire Choisir has 4 of 7 runners this year able to be placed - 2 winners. Chapple-Hyam has been having a good year on the all weather so I would not be surprised is Driven Snow is able to be the best here. Jockey booked is Pat Cosgrave. His other runs have been for a lost between 7.75 and 15 lengths. Owned by Dean Ivory. Ivory owned runners have a record of 5 wins from 22 at this course - 5 from 15 with 4yo+. Trainer D Ivory has been in very good form so I think he will be cable to add another good number to his owner stat. Ivory as a trainer has been 1-1-4-1-2-3-3 the past 7 days - 1-4-1-3 here. 3pts ew @ 16-1 William Hill Kempton 4:50 Take A Mile I think he is still capable of capturing an event like today. His only all weather run this year was LTO for a 10 of 14. That was a race for amateur riders so I will let it go. He enters today with jockey T Quinn on board. Quinn had two runs here on the 25th last month finishing 2nd of 5 and st of 10. The win was for Take A Mile's trainer B G Powell. Powell has a runner named Notra Mundum with three wins and one second from four runs this year at the distance of 11f. His british form has gone well since last month - 5-4-2. Well backed at the moment as the 2-1 favorite - RP Forecast is 7-2. Jockey Chris Catlin has a form of 1-2-3-3-11 from the last 5 at this course. 10pts win @ 2-1 Bet365 BOG Kempton 8:20 Mind Alert One of two entries for this race by trainer D Shaw. Mind Alert raced the course and distance twice this year for one win and placed third on the latest. Price of Even money to be placed is good value. 10pts TBP @ 2.02 Betfair Sandown 2:35 Kawagino Overpriced in my opinion. Finished 1/2 length behind P F Nicholls and R Walsh's Nycteos at Kempton LTO for the Lanzarote Hurdle. Nycteos carried 10-10 while Kawagino was set with 11-9 - both were 12 lengths clear of third. He wa able to give a good effort in Graded event last year. 8 of 20 (G1), 5 of 10 (G1), 4 of 28 (G3), and 5 of 11 (G1). He's really been in great shape since last year, 2-2-2-1-1 - not raced since '05 before his return. Sir Mark Prescott has really done well with him and I doubt he can do alot of wrong for today. Prescott has 9 wins from 20 runners aged at least 4 at this course the past 5 seasons. 10pts win @ 5-2 Sporting Bet Lingfield 3:20 Silver Prelude Taken up another Class today but has to be taken seriously. LTO's Class 3 was the first time in a race higher than a Class 4 since September 30, 2004 - 25 races. He did well enough to finish 2nd by a length to the 1-1 favorite Bonus and 1.75 lengths ahead of Qadar. That race was finished in a fast time, 0.16s faster than the Racing Post standard. It was also for 6 furlongs (here), and by the 1f out Silver Prelude was 4 lengths up - just lost the race in the last 50 yards. His previous two was for 5f, geting a win for both runs. Being back to the 5f looks very good for today, weight of 8-4 is lower than last time (9-0) and there is 3lb more to claim by jockey Kirsty Milczarek. Likely to get the early lead from draw 2 and if so he will be tough to catch. 10pts win @ 18-5 Sporting Bet Lingfield 4:25 Micheals Boy Is certainly worthy of note. Making his debut, he stumbled slightly early in the contest but still travelled easily before quickening nicely on the fence after turning for home. He was not able to go with the first and second inside the final furlong but did more than enough to suggest he will be a useful tool in the months ahead. -From Racing Post Analysis. Jockey Fergus Sweeney had two placed third for the last three runs for trainer J R Boyle. The previous four runs was at the 6f trip here for two wins and two second-placed efforts. Trainer J S Moore has been doing well here all year - 10 runs for 3-3-2 (W-2-3). The jockey on board the last 5 is not on for today but that is not a problem. Jockey Jack Dean have done well here this year - 4 runs for 1-2-1 (W-2-3). 5pts win @ 11-2 Ladbrokes Lingfield 2:45 Sgt Schultz One of two trained by J S Moore for this race. Sgt Schultz is the pick for his jockey booking, L P Keniry with the other runner having Tolley Dean. Dean has just two wins from 61 runs here while Keniry has 29 wins from 441. Keniry has 4 wins from 21 runners aged at least 4 that are trained by J S Moore the past 5 seasons. Sgt Schultz raced in a Class 2 at this course from a 2f shorter trip and finished 3rd of 12, beaten 1.75 lengths by by SIlver Pivotal and favorite Alpes Maritimesa neck ahead. It was his first Class 2 test since last summer. I think he'll do well with the trip today, he finished 1st and 2nd at the C&D in the two previous runs before LTO. 10pts win @ 10-3 Ladbrokes
