  1. Re: PL_Crewman | Sports-Punter Specialist Lingfield 3:55 Hansinger Class 4 Handicap, 0-85 - but only only one of the 7 runners has a win at this Class (Hucking Hero). Hansinger comes in from not being raced since last September but should be fit for this after being tested at Goodwood, Newmarket, and Doncaster on his last three runs. He finished 13 of 17, 12 of 17, and 3 of 8 but they were in Class 2,2, and 3 so the task was tough. Previous three was in Class 4,5, and 5 and did better there having finishes of 3 of 12, 5 of 13 and 1st of 13. All weather debut but jockey N Callan is on board so the price is enough for me to take a shot with this. 2pts ew @ 20-1 Bet365 BOG Lingfield 4:30 Westport Finished 2nd last time out to stablemate Distinctly Game. Could improve on that with jockey N Callan on board. Callan returned February 12th from being out since Janruary 18th for a form of 2-3-4-1-3-2. Trainer K A Ryan has a couple handfull of rides with Callan in the next few day and the two has shown they are worth to follow since Callan's return. The combo has one win and two seconds from three runs since Callan returned. They have two runs as a combo today but I like Westport because his form is better and this race is more valuable. 10pts win @ 3-1 Bet365 BOG Sandown 4:20 Soixante Improving on hurdle game and has a good price offered for today. He's finished second the last two runs and had jockey Sam Thomas on board for both. Thomas is scheduled for today. Weight is down 6lb from last time and gets to go up in trip by 2 furlongs from last time will help. His penultimate run was in a 2m5f trip and did well enough to finish 2 lengths behind in 2nd to odds-on favorite Pocket Aces. His next run 18 days later was dropped one class but the trip was also dropped and finished further from the winner by 8 lengths. 5pts ew @ 9-1 totesport

just noticed the 28/1 winner yesterday Crewman, well done, :clap I see you are still undeterred by the loss, which is an excellent attitude. Keep the methods if they bring in winners, however always worth taking a look to see if there is a filter you can add to contain some of the losses. :ok
I've been taking a closer look when it comes to filtering. I never thought they could be too much but it has happened to me. I do now avoid many of the stakes races - maiden, caliming, classifieds. I find that handicap races tend to be more honest with their form. But Selling Stakes also brings many big priced winners so I'm trying to find some old trend from there but Massey's Custom Report is not usable at the moment. Short priced runners are also bad for me but I am not sure why yet..Finally I though I had the night racing down until the last two meetings bringing just one win from thirteen but three finished second and one third so it's not worth to avoid all night races. Sticking with high prices today! :hope

Last time had Wynberg as the winner, 2nd was Little Finch (already on 19th race), and 3rd Whitcombe Flyer is sired by Fusaichi Pegasus. Jockey that was on board alst time is back for today - Richard Thomas. Trainer Ian Williams has only 1 win from 13 all weather runs this year but a total of 8 finished 3rd or better - 1-2-2-3 (W-2-3-4). Events like this have produced some big priced winners so Terminate is not a bad choice who comes from a trainer that has been able to get them close. 5pts ew @ 9-1 Boylesports

That was LTO and at this course from the 5f trip, Class 7 Classified Stakes - beaten favorite at 9-4SP. The horse he lost two went on to win next time by 1 length when taken up a Class into a Class 6 Claming Stakes. 14. Re: PL_Crewman | Sports-Punter Specialist Lingfield 1:40 Green Pirate Been raced at Wolverhampton in 16 of the past 17 runs (since Jun07) but handling this course can be expected. He has 3 runs here for experience with the last two being from the 1m trip. The form at the C&D is a win and second - Class 7 Banded Stakes and Class 6 Handicap back in December 2006 and January 2007. He won his penultimate run last month in a seller by 3 lengths. Followed that with a 6th of 8 but against touhger competition in a Class 6 Handicap. Jockey Richard Kingscote was on board the last two and again to be on today. Kingscote has 3 wins from 5 all weather for Brisbourne this year. 5pts ew @ 5-1 Bet365 BOG Lingfield 1:40 Robinzal Finds himself alone at topweight but jockey booked is who he has the most success with. Jockey Vince Slattery has 7 runs with Robinzal, flat and national hunt - 7-2-5-2-2-6-4 is the total form. Robinzal has failed to get in the money from his last three but maybe being in Handicap races is now too much for him to do. Last four (2-6-10-5) have been in Class 5 Handicaps so this drop into a Claiming Stakes is a big step down. Even with his poor form I think he can do well here especially with Slattery on board. 2pts ew @ 28-1 Betterbet Lingfield 2:40 Salut Saint Cloud 2m trip last time at Southwell proved it is the distance where he is best at. He was beaten 5.75 lengths into 4th of 10 but it was his best run since the last time he made a 2m trip. The form from the breaks between the two 2m runs has only 4 horses it was able to defeat on the all weather. 11 of 12 (12f), 11 of 11 (10f), 9 of 9 (12f), 9 of 10 (13f), and 7 of 9 (12f). 2m is the trip today - 4-7-4-5-1-2-6 on all 2m AW runs last year. 10pts win @ 4-1 Betterbet Lingfield 3:40 Lord Of Dreams Only a 6th and 5th placed effort from the two runs this year but should still be counted on for today. Both runs was at the C&D and his other C&D runs was for a 4th of 14 and 1st of 11. The win came with the jockey on board today, Jamie Jones. Jones has 5 wins from 23 all weather runs the past 5 seasons with runners aged 4yo+ for owner N J Jones. N J Jones has this course for the most success with older runner - 3 wins from 17. Jones owned runners trained by G L Moore has 5 wins from 26 on the all weather. 5pts ew @ 7-1 Sportingbet Lingfield 3:40 Lordswood Won his last run by 1 length at this C&D two weeks ago. This race today a one Class higher but I still like his chances based on his latest effort. The run was really good with the timing being perfect in the closing stages to lead the last 75 yards. The same jockey from that run is to be on board again today so I think he will be hard to defeat if able to recproduce the same as the last. That jockey, Hayley Turner, has two of three wins that Lordswood have - came from last four runs. 10pts win @ 9-4 Bet365 BOG Lingfield 4:10 Bon Ton Roulet Not been in good racing shape but I think trainer R Hannon has her ready for today. Hannon is doing very well with 3yo's lately - he has two wins and one second from the five that was sent out - since 30Jan. His 3yo form for the year is 21 runs for 2-2-2 (W-2-3) so this time is looks good to back his 3yo's. Jockey Hadden Frost was on board one of the win and that was for 9f. Frost has been in good form lately - two wins and three seconds from the last eight runs - since 30Jan. 5pts ew @ 5-1 Bet365 BOG Lingfield 4:10 Love Empire Trainer M Johnston won two out of two runs yesterday. Both ran for 1m - Southwell. 3yo Handicappers from Johnston has 8 wins from 31 runs this year. - 1 win from 10 with others. Love Empire has made the mistake of staring slowly for his three career runs but if that has been fixed for today the rest will have plenty to do. He's also only raced between the time of 12:15 to 1:40 so maybe this later time to race will do some good for him. 10pts win @ 2.86 Betfair

    NYRA Press Staff | February 11, 2008
    aqueduct_spring_L.jpg

As you know NYRA is faced with the real possibility of having to suspend racing after the Wednesday, February 13th card is run.

NYRA’s franchise to run thoroughbred racing at Aqueduct, Saratoga and BelmontPark, which dates back to 1955, expired on December 31, 2007 without a franchise renewal in place. Acting in good faith and responding to assurances that an agreement would soon be reached mirroring the September 4th Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) already agreed to by NYRA, the Governor and the State Assembly, NYRA accepted a three-week temporary extension of its franchise until January 23rd and a second extension which will expire Wednesday.

NYRA can no longer operate under temporary extensions and will conclude racing at Aqueduct on Wednesday unless NYRA receives a new long-term franchise.

Without getting too deeply into the issues surrounding the franchise, NYRA is committed to securing an agreement that ensures the franchise is operated by people who have the best interests of thoroughbred racing at heart and are dedicated to ensuring that the thoroughbred industry is a vital contributor to the State of New York.

Absent an appropriate franchise agreement, on Thursday two-thirds of our employees will be laid-off, while the rest will take significant pay cuts with further cutbacks expected if the closure is prolonged. Trainers have been told they may train their horses at our tracks for two weeks, but that NYRA will not be able to accommodate horses or backstretch workers past February 27th.

Unfortunately, you will be affected as well, as your participation in the greatest game played outdoors also will be interrupted. We will keep you informed about any significant developments in the franchise process and deeply hope that any interruption in racing is brief. We understand your frustration and appreciate your patience.

The last two mile runs for O'Neill finished ast of 6 (Kempton) and 2nd of 7 (Southwell). Donohoe has 6 wins from 24 runners aged 4yo+ at this course this year. 5pts ew @ 9-2 Bet365 BOG Southwell 2:20 Moral Code I think this can turn out to be a good maiden race with entries from trainers such as D R C Elsworht (w/Seb Sanders today, J A Osborrne (2 runners) and M Johnston. Moral Code comes from a very good team of E J O'Neill and Chris Catlin. The trainer/jockey combo has 6 wins from 10 runs this year - 5-8 w/3yo's and 1-2 w4yo+. The last two mile runs for O'Neill finished ast of 6 (Kempton) and 2nd of 7 (Southwell). Moral Code has not raced since last November but O'Neill have done a great job with runners coming off a long break this year. She's The Lady won her first run of the year (Jan04) after being out since last May. Sparton Duke won his first run of the year (Jan13) after being out since last June. Rapidity won his first race of the year (Feb03) after being out since last August. Medicine Path won his first run of the year (Feb03) after being out since last November. Georgie The Fourth finished 3rd of 14 (Jan23 after being out since last July. Three other's raced for O'Neill this year but they were making their debut - they finished 2nd, 2nd, and 1st. Only runner of the day for O'Neill. 5pts ew @ 9-1 Ladbrokes Southwell 4:20 Exit To Luck Finished last of 5 runners last time but that being his first all weather after two tries over hurdles deserves to be forgotten. His lifetime all weather form has 2 seconds from 4 runs. The last all weather run before last time was here at the 1m3f trip in June last year - beaten 7 lengths and 7 lenghts ahead of 3rd. Booking of Chris Catlin could be enough to have him stay this trip and get his old all weather form. 2pts ew @ 28-1 Blue Square Southwell 4:20 Simple Jim I do not believe he was tried for his best last time out - finished last of 8. The trip was only 9f and he set a very slow pace that allowed the rest to pass him. He raced over hurdles on the last two before last time so I think he still has plenty to give if asked for his best. The other all weather run in Britain was for a 6th of 12, beaten 5.50 lengths on his British debut at Wolverhampton, 1m6f. Trainer A D Brown has two wins from six here - both by Karmest who raced the 1m3f and 1m4f trip here finishing 1st-1st-3rd - (other 11f-12f runners finished 4th and 7th). Brown does not have many runners to train for the all weather so having Simple Jim give his best British run is very possible. 2pts ew @ 33-1 BLue Square Southwell 4:50 Hawa Khana Left her competitors at least 3 lengths behind in a 1m Maiden Handicap here just a week ago. She swerved right towards the finish that day and had her share of problems in the past too but her efforts this year has been the best of her career. She gained an RPR of 63 last time and that is 4 higher than her previous career best. Jockey Kirsty Milczarek has been on board the last three (1 win, 2 seconds) and I think she can get Hawa Khana to give another good run. 10pts win @ 9-4 Bet365 BOG

  21. Re: PL_Crewman | Sports-Punter Specialist Wolverhampton 5:05 John Potts Has a good chance to at least be placed. He's slowly improving and should again do so for this third run as a 3yo. He finished 1.50 lengths behind the winner last time in a race where he was running 9f for the first time (C&D). His previous best was a 2.25 lengths defeat into 4th of 11 at the end of last year. Bury Treasure was the winner that day he is currently half the price of what John Potts is offered at. Trainer B P J Baugh has one win and third from the first two runners today - both 12-1 SP. John Potts has Rapidity to worry about for the win but his progress and trainer form looks like a good bet with the price as high as 20-1. 3pts ew @ 16-1 Bet365 BOG Wolverhampton 5:05 Carry On Cleo Havinga bad year but had her closest finish to the winner last time, 7 days ago. She did well at the C&D as a 2yo last year getting 2 wins and 2 thirds from four runs. The 3yo campaign started the C&D with an 8th of 11, beaten 6.25 lengths. At the current price I think it is worth the shot for an e/w bet - as high as 33-1 and lowest is 20-1. 2pts ew @ 33-1 Betfred

  22. Re: Best Bet of The Day - Monday 11th Feb Wetherby 4:45 Murphys Beau Has a good price in this open looking bumpe event. The shortest price offered for anyone is 11-2 so I think Murphys Beau's chances is great here. He ran to finish just a head short to get 2nd last time (10 days ago) not getting past the 8-11 favorite that day. The effort was good an did notthing wrong to lose that day. Trainer Mrs S J Smith prepared him well for last time after not being raced since last October. This is the first time time on Good to Soft going but I think he can handle it - debut on Good (5th of 13, beaten by 9.50) and last time on Soft (2nd of 8, beaten by a head). 5pts ew @ 9-1 Coral
