5.45am sees my Australian horse Beneficio make her metro debut when she runs at Caulfield in R5. It's a really competitive race as it is 5/1 the field and there are quite a few you could give chances to so I am not going to recommend a bet as I have done when she has run before. What I can tell you though is that the trainer is really happy with the filly and that she has worked really well since the win last time. He must think quite a bit of her to send her straight into this sort of company on the back of the maiden win and she has a decent draw so hopefully she will be able to use her good start and early speed to lead them. It will then be a case of if she is good enough to stay there. It could be that she runs really well and finishes mid div, but I do think she is a bit over priced at around 20-25/1 so I am having a small e/w bet on her and hopefully she can go close.

9 Runners for a conditional jockeys handicap hurdle, Geometrical used to run of the flat but made the switch to hurdles in December winning at Doncaster most recently pulled up at Stratford with a irregular heartbeat if that isnt a issue it shouldnt be too far away, Sofia's Rock won at Stratford 18 days ago in seller and returns here for Dan Skelton and Jack Andrews and has claims if that wasnt a one off, First Quest is off a career high mark and last won in October at Wincanton 2 starts ago, American Gerry won 2 starts ago at Catterick and most recently finished 5th at Sandown before winning the horse finished 2nd three times so has a chance if back to that standard, Technological won at Exeter 8 days ago in a 3 runner event and is up 7lbs for that with jockey Mitchell Bastyan taking 3lbs off that may find this a bit tougher for my liking, Warranty finished a very close 2nd at Fontwell only beaten half a length Niall Houlian rides for Gary Moore and if backing that result is the one for me

Bubble Dubi has had 2 starts to date most recently finishing 4th at Huntingdon chance to place at best for me, Itso Fury finished 2nd at Kempton to a newcommer last time out form reads 232 so is one of the main chances, Rare Edition comes here for a first start for Charlie Longsdon having had 2 runs in point to points most recently 2nd place beaten 1 length and Brian Hughes climbs aboard makes an interesting runner, Yeoman Warder won a point to point in December and joins the Skeltons and wears a tongue strap and is my fancy on rules debut, DJ Pete is a possible interesting newcommer and is a half brother to a 2m hurdle winner and could be one to watch, Kaleb finished 2nd place at Kempton 25 days ago has placed in both starts to date for Amy Murphy and could make the frame today

Small field of 5 for a 2m 2f handicap chase, Slate House stopped a downward spiral when wearing blinkers at Wincanton in January and proved that wasnt a fluke finishing 2nd the next time out at Taunton  most recently finished 6th behind Coole Cody at the festival so this is very much a decent chance to win back in a lower contest, Rockstar Ronnie won twice over C&D in November before having a break of 4 months when re-appearing finished 4th over 2m possibly needed the run, Doukarov has won at Newbury and Sandown since the start of December latest racecourse appearance was at Newbury finishing a clear 2nd and has a clear chance today, Somekindofstar last won 3 starts ago at Fakenham but been below that since at Sandown and Newbury, Mystical Clouds won last time out at Newcastle after a 2 year winning hiatus and is up 6lbs for that may have outside chance
