  1. That was a hell of a frame which Allen really should have won to go 7-4. Selby is going to win this match now as he's doing the same as he did vs Higgins. It was so slow they only completed 5 out of the allotted 8 frames.

Si might regret not having a bigger lead going into tomorrow and I expect Luca to win the match as the pressure will overcome the youngster.

  2. Well, that was tense! Looking forward to the Si/Luca match as that should be attacking and open. Whoever's sitting on Si at 1000 outright would be advised to lay some of it off as I expect he won't have much left to give after all the frames he's played or maybe he's still young enough for that not to matter. All of China will be rooting for him which brings a lot of pressure too.

  3. Wish I'd had the cajones to lay Ronnie when he was as low as 1.03 on Betfair! Luca played great today, nearly no-miss snooker but Ronnie was total dross. A new face in the final probably taking on Selby who will likely win his 5th world title next Monday.

Ridiculous scheduling in the other match having to play back-to-back sessions! I think they were playing for half an hour on the final red ball in one frame, it's very slow going so they will only manage to complete 14 frames before going for a short break.

    What happened?!?!??

Just stop oil protesters up to their usual disruptive tricks, not sure why they didn't cover both tables with the powdered orange paint but thankfully table 2 was able to resume play after less than an hours delay and had the bonus of the arena all to themselves! It's a pity Fan didn't put up a stronger showing as he had plenty of chances.

  5. Ronnie won't beat Ding(or Hossein!) playing like that, he looks very rusty but if anyone can do the impossible it would be him. Jones must be delighted to be 5-4 up overnight but I expect Carter to play better tomorrow and come through in the end. Robbo looks decent too now that he's fully fit.

  6. Good to see you on here harry! I've popped 20 quid on the 147 bet as an interest bet so I'll be rooting for it! Looking at the first round ties it's a shame that the the two best mates from the north east have drawn each other, they even play at the same club(Wilson & Slessor) - I was impressed with Elliot in the qualies but can he bring that to the Crucible?

    Looking forward to day one...

  7. The elbow injury is certainly concerning, caused by signing thousands of his merch items! I, like you, was also surprised by some of the h2h stats. Luca is quite inconsistent so you may have a decent shout there though Walden hasn't exactly been on fire this year either. Williams is a good cover bet to give you another runner in the top half and it would be nice to see Jack beat Judd for a change!

  8. I I think the top 16 seeds will all be reasonably happy with the draw and I confidently predict that at least a dozen of them will progress to the second round with perhaps Slessor, Walden, Perry and one of McGill/Noppon causing an upset? Another Murphy vs Selby final with Shaun winning this time though I would love Ronnie to get his eighth:-)

  9. Yeah, he had the tremors in 2021 or 2022 and it seems to be a recurring problem for him. I think he's based at one of the Edinburgh snooker clubs(someone told me the Locarno).

Play has finished early for a change, how tragic for Mark Davis missing that easy pink to win 10-9 and stay on the tour, strange what pressure can do to your cueing...

The Chinese squad have done well, shame that both Thai players didn't make it through though Noppon squeaked it on the final black. 60 hours to go until the curtain rises at the Crucible!

  10. I guess it's good that they don't let them start a new frame if it's gone past 3pm so they get a decent break. Hamilton is ridiculously slow so it's probably just as well they restart at 5pm so they can finish before midnight! It's a shame Donaldson had to retire at 0-4 due to the covid vaccine tremors returning to haunt him, I'm so glad I never took the vaccine as my spidey-senses told me there was something not right about the rushed rollout. What a great 146 by Day though in the opening frame!

  11. Final round today and tomorrow, strange that the session times are 11am and 5pm as it doesn't leave much of a break for some of the traditionally long drawn out grind-fests we seem to get every year as the stakes are high to get that Crucible place!

  12. I was going to have a bet on Pinchers too as he played well last round but didn't in the end, I see he's current 9-6 up(was 9-4) but he will probably get over the line. Still time for Kleckers tomorrow fingers crossed. Stevens only just got past Poom when it should have gone 9-9 really.

  13. Fidget is going well for you as is Zak and of the other 2 surely one will win. I was a bit premature with my excitement after the first frame century from Hendry, he'll be disappointed to be 7-2 down. I thought James might have been feeling a bit of pressure to beat uncle Stephen - the Tart sisters will be celebrating around 8pm tonight🥂
