    Merry xmas Lads
I fancy Big Breakaway but put off   by the price  as low as 9/1 anti post for a horse that has pulled up in  his last 2 runs and only won one chase race i was hoping  at least 16's  with at  least 5 p with bog ! so its a wait and see for me but ran a cracker in this race last year off  1lb  higher if he can  leave current form behind has a hell of a chance in this imo.  I agree with  my Irish neighbour that Waynefinder  has a very decent chance and  should go well at a decent price (currently 25's) but i also like another one  at massive price  i have had a button e/w on  anti  post  but intend to have a few more on when bog and extra places kicks in.  Didero Vallis from the inform V Williams stable the yard cat could win if they saddled it up  that's  how  hot the stable is at present imho this horse is a ridiculous price  66/1 nice weight ran a nice race in the Cheltenham cross country in November disappointed back there in December but i really like its chances especially if it comes up very soft.
That would be my three against the field.
i will leave you with my favourite xmas song of all time.

    I've rated this
    Chambard.  9.2 12/1 class 105
    Big breakaway. 8.9 class 67
    Complete unknown 8.7 class 90
    I will do it    8.5 class 46
    Super survivor. 8.2 class 43
Very difficult race as you'd imagine ......usually you'd favour the lower weights but this year the lower weights look quite poor so I have a strong feeling this will go to one of the listed above ....iwilldoit has a lot of weight but claimer will help and gets the distance so I can see it making the frame .....
Super survivor is well backed but doesn't look that good to me ... .looks very poor value and I'll overlook
Complete unknown looked a decent horse over middle distances but when stepped up he weakened badly so a further step up again doesn't really look good .....opposed as a result
Chambard is a horse on upgrade ....form looks strong .....class rating is strong ....average class rating for race is 70 so a class rating if 100 is well in .....looks a very strong Ew bet overall at decent odds
Big breakaway is a very capable horse on a good day ....gets the distance but has lost his way recently .......is the type to bounce back suddenly but there's a risk if can .....possible Ew play
Initially I'm going to back chambard Ew at 12/1 5pts Ew as I think that looks excellent value  and make a decision on other two nearer the time
    Chambard 5ptsew 12/1 wil hill

Merry Christmas everyone - thanks you for reading my pieces this year and I hope somewhere along the journey I've helped you find a winner or two.     Kempton 12.45 We start the day’s ITV coverage with a eight runner novices’ handicap chase run over 2M 4 1/2F. The race has a very open look about it and it maybe worth chancing Alan King’s representative Es Perfecto who made a promising chasing debut in a similar contest as this when chasing home the ten length winner Ginny’s Destiny at Cheltenham 39 days ago. The form has been boosted by the subsequent success of the winner in grade 2 company since. Surprisingly the handicapper has dropped him a pound for that effort and with improvement to come looks likely to be thereabouts with the likes of Blow Your Wad and Russian Ruler dangers.   ES PERFECTO 1 point each way @ 6/1 bet365 1/5 123   Aintree 1.05 Registered as the Tolworth Hurdle the newly named Formby Novices’ Hurdle is run here for the first time having previously been raced at Sandown and has attracted a good sized field of ten. With challengers from Ireland and French this race will take some winning and the pick is the Nicky Henderson trained Jango Baie who made a winning debut under rules when getting the better of the re-appearing Tellherthename at Ascot 52 days ago. That form has worked out well and with a stronger pace here likely to suit can continue the good form of the Henderson stable who had an across the card four timer on Saturday.   JANGO BAIE 1 point win @ 10/3 William Hill   Kempton 1.20 A small but select field of just six line up for this years renewal of the 3M Ladbrokes Kauto Star Novices’ Chase. French challenger Il Est Francais is obviously very smart but has no experience of British fences or drying ground and the one to beat may well be the Paul Nicholls trained Hermes Allen. He steps up to three miles for the first time here under rules but as a 3M Irish point winner and the tightness of this flat track it really shouldn’t be an issue for this exciting novice. His trainer was at pains to say he would need the run before he made a winning chasing debut at Newbury 25 days ago and with likely improvement to come can give his trainer a winner in a race he won two years ago with Bravemansgame.   HERMES ALLEN 1 point win @ 15/8 bet365   Wetherby 1.35 Only six line up for the 3M Rowland Meyrick Handicap Chase with each of the sextet having a chance of sorts. Mark Walford’s Into Overdrive won this last year off of a handicap mark 3lb lower ver than today’s and can score again despite a 287 day absence. He won first time out last season so can run well fresh and with a record at the Yorkshire track of two wins from four starts looks the one to be with. Another horse back from a layoff is Kim Bailey’s top weight Does He Know and he too has a good record fresh and looks a threat.
INTO OVERDRIVE 1 point win @ 7/2 BetVictor   Kempton 1.55 Just six go to post for the Ladbrokes Christmas hurdle run over two miles in which see’s the re-appearance of the reigning Champion Hurdler Constitution Hill who remains unbeaten under rules having won all seven of his starts including at the last two Cheltenham Festivals and this very race last year. The fact he has won first time out for the last two years by 12 and 14 lengths suggests he will be ready here and with 26lb and upwards in hand of his rivals it will be a major shock were he to get beaten. Rubaud looks the one for the forecast.   Kempton 2.30 The day’s feature race is the Ladbrokes King George VI Chase run over three miles. We only have a field of six but they’re all quality chasers with Willie Mullins’s Allaho heading the market. He must go well but preference is for Paul Nicholl’s Bravemansgame. He is two from two at the track having won the Kauto Star Novices’ Chase and this race here over the last two years. The track and ground conditions look ideal for him and although he may not have been at his best for his two starts this season he’s hardly been beaten that far so he can take this famous race for the second time under his usual partner Harry Cobden.   BRAVEMANSGAME 1 point win @ 9/4 BetUK

Cheltenham 1.15 The first of eight races covered by the ITV cameras this afternoon is this 2M 62 yard class 2 handicap chase. Dan Skelton’s Calico looks the one they all have to beat as a dual winning novice last season and probably better known as giving Jonbon a scare in the Kingmaker Novices’ Case at Warwick in February. He made a promising re-appearance when leading over the last in a valuable 2M handicap chase at the Paddy Power meeting only to be run down on the run in by the progressive Triple Trade who’s run well in defeat at Ascot since. A 4lb rise in the weights may not stop the seven year old from going one better here.   CALICO 2 points win @ 9/4 William Hill   Cheltenham 1.50 We have a dozen smart chasers for the feature race on the Cheltenham card, the 2M 4 1/2F December Gold Cup. I have every respect for Olly Murphy’s Thunder Rock with his chase form tying in with recent winners but at a better price I prefer the Irish trained challenger So Scottish who appears to have been trained for the race by that astute handler Emmet Mullins for legendary owner J P McManus. He may have found the ground too heavy at Galway last time and in a first time tongue tie today may be too good for these. He can be backed each way with an additional place with JP’s retained Irish jockey Mark Walsh over to ride him.   SO SCOTTISH 1 point each way @ 11/2 BetVictor 1/5th 1234   Doncaster 2.05 The first of three races covered by the ITV cameras today at the Yorkshire track is this 2m 3F novices’ handicap chase. Yorkshire trainer Sue Smith is very much a ‘streaky’ trainer and having been apparently out of form for a while bounced back to form n the last fortnight when winning with three of her 6 runners (plus two of her losers finished second) and she can take this valuable prize with her six year old Cerendipity. he stepped forward for his chasing debut/re-appearance when winning a competitive five runner novices’ handicap chase at Wetherby 17 days ago by 1 3/4L from Ukantango. A 3lb rise may not be enough to halt his anticipated progress and he can follow up here for his in form trainer.   CERENDIPITY 1 point win @ 7/2 William Hill   Cheltenham 2.25 A stamina sapping 3M 2F Premier Handicap Chase has attracted nine staying chasers with the weights headed by Dan Skelton’s Protektorat. The bet however lies with the novice trained by Nigel Twiston-Davies in Broadway Boy. Only a five year old and the type that Twiston-Davies has done well with in the past he could be well treated off of 146 on his handicap bow. He’s won two of three starts over fences including when a 20 length victor at the last meeting from stable mate Weveallbeencaught. He likes to get on with things so expect Sam Twiston-Davies to ride him positively from the front.   BROADWAY BOY 1 point win @ 7/2 bet365   Doncaster 2.40 A decent sized field of twelve line up for this 2M 128 yard class 2 handicap hurdle. Several have chances including last season’s smart novice Rare Edition but its the locally trained Clear White Light who takes the eye. Unbeaten in two starts at the Yorkshire track, he made a winning re-appearance over course and distance when running out an easy winner of a race marred by half of the eight hurdles being omitted because of the low sun. He’s been raised 6lb for that victory but trainer Adrian Paul Keatley has recruited useful 7lb conditional jockey Dylan Johnston to offset that rise and he looks the one to be with.   CLEAR WHITE LIGHT 1 point each way @ 5/1 bet365 1/5th 1234   Cheltenham 3.00 Up next is the 3M Albert Bartlett Novices’ Hurdle run over 3M with a field of ten lining up. Nicky Henderson saddles an interesting runner in Shanagh Bob who impressed when landing the odds on his hurdles debut, but that was a very weak affair at Plumpton and at the likely prices I’m happy to look elsewhere. Kim Bailey’s Destroytheevidence is a progressive staying novice hurdler who followed up an easy Kempton novice hurdle win with an equally as cosy victory in a handicap at the same track the following month. He’s yet to race on a stiff track like this but he still appears each way.   DESTROYTHEEVIDENCE 1 point each way @ 5/1 William Hill 1/5th 123   Doncaster 3.15 Doncaster’s trio of races shown by the terrestrial cameras concludes with this eleven runner class 2 3M handicap chase. Laura Morgan’s Whistleinthedark is interesting but has stamina to prove so its the Dan Skelton runner Sail Away that appeals the most. He was a dual winner over this trip last season and made a satisfactory re-appearance when fifth of 7 (beaten 12 1/2L) at Newbury over a trip on the short side of 2M 4F a fortnight ago. That will have blown the cobwebs away and he can be competitive here in what amounts to an open race. He can be backed each way with an additional place.   SAIL AWAY 1 point each way @ 6/1 bet365 1/5th 1234     Cheltenham 3.35 The two day meeting concludes with a ten runner mares only handicap hurdle which has an open look about it. The pick is the Dan Skelton trained six year old Nurse Susan who was a smart novice back in season 2021/22 when winning her first two starts prior to a far from disgraced runner up to Love Envoi and ending that season with a creditable fourth of 19 in the mares novices’ hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival behind the same horse. She re-appeared following a 613 day break when soundly beaten on her fencing bow at Exeter in listed company in November and reverts back to hurdles in a handicap for a first time off of a realistic mark of 125. She’s an each way price and should run well here stepping up in trip for the first time.   NURSE SUSAN 1 point each way @ 6/1 BetVictor 1/5th 123
