Rocheval 11:50 Ayr (evens Bet365). Looked good winning Aintree bumper a month ago. Is the best of these based on that and gets useful 7lb from Summer Night City who won a 2 finisher race at Hereford. Fav should win this if jumping ok. Tiny Angel hasn't shown much in 2 races but this is much easier and will carry a feather weight with the allowance and claimer so could do better.
    2pts win Rocheval (evens Bet365)

Wins, stablemate got a bit closer this time but always looked on top.

Aveley v Hungerford I watched a bit of the Aveley game against Welling on Monday night and when Welling had their keeper sent off I thought they would win quite comfortably. The player who they put in goal looked pretty ropey when he failed to deal with a cross along the floor in what was a slightly bizarre 2nd goal. Aveley struggled in the 2nd half though and in the end conceded again and ended up with just a point. This came on the back off losing 4-3 on Saturday to Farnborough, a side who hadn't won away all season, having been 3-1 up. I just get the feeling that after their very strong start they are beginning to reach their natural level squad wise and that for me gives Hungerford a chance here. They are in the play-offs in their division and haven't lost in 9 games in the league. They knocked out Truro in the previous round and could well knock out another NLS side here.   Barnet v Maidstone Two sides I took on last week in the FA Cup unsuccessfully with Barnet getting a draw late on (which they by all accounts did deserve) and Maidstone getting a victory over a disappointing Barrow. I'm pretty keen on Maidstone here because I think they will be taking this more seriously than Barnet will. Barnet have their replay live on TV on Tuesday night and given the winner plays Eastleigh it is a really good chance to reach the 4th Round. They will surely be putting in their effort for that and of course the league campaign and making sure they finish in the top 3. I think Brennan will rest players for this with the replay and a busy Christmas schedule in mind. Maidstone don't have another game until the following Saturday so there is no real reason why they would rest players and no doubt they will want to go and cause another Cup upset.    Chippenham v Gloucester Fair bit on the line here as both sides have players who used to play for the other team and Gloucester's manager used to manage Chippenham. As I put last week ahead of the Chester game which was called off, Gloucester's last two performances have seen a big improvement which were a 3-0 win over Braintree in this and a 4-2 win over Spennymoor in the league. They do still have to prove they can do it away, but I think they are over priced to win this given those last two efforts.   Curzon Ashton v Macclesfield I know Curzon are 6th in the National League North at the moment, but I think you can make a case for Macclesfield having a stronger side than their hosts. They have done well since Alex Bruce took over and are scoring lots of goals as well. They put 4 past Alfreton in the previous round which made up for the fact Alfreton had beaten them in the FA Cup earlier in the season. Curzon are unbeaten in their last 5 league games, but they haven't had the hardest fixtures in the world and this will be a tough test for them. I think Macclesfield are way over priced for this.   Dagenham & Redbridge v Peterborough Sports Taking a bit of a flyer here, but Dagenham haven't been overly convincing at home so far this season and Sports have been in good form on the whole in recent weeks. In the last 10 games form table they are 5th and I think they are the type of side who could potentially beat a misfiring side like Dagenham. They have only won 3 at home in the league, whilst losing the other 8 games and that has to be concerning so I give Sports a chance of causing an upset.   Oldham v Mickleover Taking even a bigger flyer here, but given how poor Oldham were against Ebbsfleet in their last game I will take a chance that high flying Mickleover can cause an upset. I'm not sure how seriously Mellon will take the FA Trophy and he might use the game to rest some of his first team, even so they are still very up and down regarding their performances. Fair to say Mickleover aren't in as strong form as they were earlier in the season and they have only won once in their last 7 league games, but they had an impressive 3-1 win at Spennymoor in the previous round. Obviously Oldham are the most likely winners, but at a huge price it is worth taking a chance on Mickleover.   Prices from Thursday 6pm   Hungerford 1pt @ 15/4 with Paddy Power and Betfair (21/5 with Coral and take up to 3/1) Maidstone 2pts @ 4/1 with Paddy Power, Betfair and Betfred (19/5 with Hills and take up to 5/2) Gloucester 1pt @ 29/10 with Paddy Power and Betfair (take up to 2/1) Macclesfield 2pts @ 100/30 with Paddy Power and Betfair (take up to 2/1) Peterborough Sports 1pt @ 9/2 with Paddy Power, Betfair, William Hill, Betfred and Bet365 (take up to 7/2) Mickleover 1pt @ 15/2 with Skybet, Paddy Power, Betfair and William Hill (take up to 6/1)

    4. @Gray306 sitting at the top of the Punters Lounge Fantasy Football League this season.
Yes, the big man has retained his top spot which is particularly impressive considering he did so after only earning 36 points this week. To be fair, it was a low-scoring week with midweek fixtures always throwing a spanner in the works with player availability and squad rotation. However, the fact that none of Graham Haynes' immediate rivals could take advantage of that poor total suggests he's hit that habit of still doing what needs to be done even when his players aren't playing well. That's title material right there!
Anyway, the upshot (for the majority) of this poor week is that it's allowing others to sneak up from the peloton (or whatever the football league table equivalent is!). The likes of @skyblues88 might have slipped down a bit (have the wheels come off?!) but who's that coming over the hill? It's only @Gazza's United and he wants his title credentials back! Ooh, you get the feeling it's all starting to hot up a bit now, don't you!
Congratulations to George Callaghan's sw1 sweet for taking home the Manager of the Week accolade with 77 points. A decent return considering the round average was just 35 points. Callaghan can credit the Liverpool duo for that performance with Trent Alexander-Arnold's 24 points and Virgil Van Dijk's 14 points making up nearly half his team's total!
Now, we have a bit of a problem for the Name of Shame. We actually have a Punters Lounge Fantasy Football League first. It's not something anybody should be proud of but I feel it's certainly a case where if we don't laugh, we'll cry. This week we not only have a multiple winners situation but we enter new territory. Yes, we don't have just two recipients... we don't have three... we don't even have four. Yes, that's correct. We have FIVE Name of Shame recipients this week! Somebody pass me the brandy!
So if I could kindly ask Tara Rezodoust's TaraNATION, @lukekindelan1985's Medical Express City (not a good couple of weeks for the Kindelan brood!), Mark Marshall's Location Location, @yossa6133's The Roosters, and John Goode's JG698 to enter the stocks. Not sure we have any players available to actually throw rotten vegetables at you. You're all in the stocks by the looks of it! Anyway, shame on you all. 21 points... not the worst score we've ever had but still not great. Must. Do. Better!
It's another quick turnaround this week with the deadline for Game Week 16 transfers being 11am UK time on Saturday 9th December. Best of luck to you all!

An early look at Saturday's ITV races as I'm away for a few days. Good luck everyone.   Aintree 12.55 The first of nine races covered by ITV Racing today is this five runner 2M 4F listed mares chase. It looks a match between Venetia William’s Pink Legend and Nigel Twiston-Davies’s Zambella with slight preference for the latter who’s won this race the last two years (was run at Carlisle last year). There's only officially 2lb between the two principals and both are making their seasonal re-appearance. It’ll be a good race between them but the pick is Zambella.   ZAMBELLA 1 point win @ 11/8 BetVictor   Sandown 1.15 The re-arranged Betfair Fighting Fifth from last weekend is a real treat for racing fans with Constitution Hill making his re-appearance. The poster boy of the National Hunt scene he’s unbeaten in seven starts under rules, including the Supreme Novices’ Hurdle and Champion Hurdle at the last two Cheltenham Festival. He’s officially rated 12lb and more superior than his rivals and has won on soft ground before. He should win this with possibly Love Envoi chasing him home.   Sandown 1.50 The 1M 7 1/2F Grade 1 Betfair Henry VIII Novices’ Chase has attracted six runners with the likely favourite Joe Tizzard’s JPR One who looked all set to win comfortably at Cheltenham last time in a Grade 2 until unseating his rider at the last when three lengths clear. He holds Petit Tonnerre on that form and may have most to fear from Paul Nicholls’s Iceo who was 13 lengths behind him at Newton Abbot in October and is now 15lb better off. He can get closer but it’s JPR One’s race to lose I think and he’s the pick with Brendan Powell in the saddle.   JPR ONE 1 point win @ 15/8 BetUK   Aintree 2.05 Fourteen line up for the 3M 2F BoyleSports Becher Handicap Chase run over the unique Grand National fences. A strong fancy here is the Dan Skelton trained Ashtown Lad who was a very impressive winner of the contest last season (Percussion 5 1/2L back in third and 4lb worse off). He races here today off of a handicap mark only 2lb higher than last year and with the stable’s runners mostly needing a run this season we can forgive him his poor run in the Badger Beer Handicap Chase at Wincanton under the stable conditional jockey last time as surely that was a race to tee him up for a tilt at this. With Gordon Elliott running Coko Beach that has helped the cause of the pick as it has suppressed the weights forcing the bottom five horse to race from out of the handicap proper.   ASHTOWN LAD 2 points each way @ 4/1 William Hill 1/5th 12345   Sandown 2.25 A competitive class 2 2M handicap hurdle with a strong favourite here in the shape of the Nicky Henderson trained, JP McManus owned Impose Toi a warm enough favourite. He should go well but does have to contend with a 10lb rise in the weights and it may pay to look towards the bottom of the handicap and Venetia Williams’s Bucksy Des Epeires who is making his handicap debut from 2lb out of the handicap although that is negated by his jockey Ned Fox’s 5lb claim. He showed form in four starts in France before joining the in form Venetia Williams and made a winning British debut when beating Dan Skelton’s well touted Illico De Cotte by a nose in a Lingfield maiden hurdle last month with the pair pulling 10L clear of the rest. A mark of 121 looks workable and he looks the bet here.   BUCKSY DES EPEIRES 1 point each way @ 15/2 bet365 1/5th 1234 BUCKSY DES EPEIRES & ASHTOWN LAD 1 point each way double @ 15/2 (1/5 1234)& 4/1 (1/5th 1234) bet365   Aintree 2.40 The 2m 1F listed juvenile hurdle has attracted ten runners with Paul Nicholls’s Liari, a winner on his hurdling debut at Wincanton and Dan Skelton’s Le Fauve the two that interest me. I slightly prefer the former who his trainer had this to say about last month “He’s potentially a lovely prospect for those good four-year-old races in the spring; he looks in a similar mould to Rubaud”. Max Of Stars is the other runner with claims on the book but the consistent Ollie Pears trainer three year old may not relish a slog on very soft ground so it’s Liari for me.   LIARI 1 point win @ 7/2 Betfred   Sandown 3.00 Just five line up for the Grade 1 Betfair Tingle Creek Chase run over just short of two miles. Nicky Henderson is in for a big day today with Constitution Hill running earlier and he can complete a big race double with his exciting two miler Jonbon who impressed more than ever when winning on his re-appearance at Cheltenham 20 days ago coasting home to beat the re-appearing Edwardstone by 9 1/2L who looks held here as does the third that day Nube Negra and with Boothill also held on last year’s Henry VIII Novices’ Chase form on this card this looks a straight forward task for JP McManus’s seven year old. Like stable companion Constitution Hill earlier he will be at prohibitive odds but it’s hard to look beyond him.   Aintree 3.15 A competitive 2M 4F class 2 handicap hurdle concludes racing at Aintree today. Plenty are in with a chance but it would be no shock if Paul Nicholl’s top weight Sonigino was to bounce back to winning form now upped to a trip that should suit. He’s run creditably on both starts this season finishing placed in the Silver Trophy Handicap Hurdle at Chepstow and the Greatwood Hurdle at Cheltenham. Off of the same handicap mark as last time he looks sure to be thereabouts. Ben Case’s Bashers Reflection is an improver having won well at Wetherby in the mud last time and should also run well even if he is 7lb higher in the weights.   SONIGINO 1 point each way @ 9/2 William Hill 1/5th 1234   Sandown 3.35 Ten go to post for the 3M 4F 146 yard London National Handicap Chase, although a couple here Cyclop and Fortescue will run at Chepstow (if that meeting beats the elements). Venetia Williams and 5lb conditional jockey Ned Fox could be in for a good day with Bucksy Des Epeires in the 2.25 and Fontaine Collonges here. We haven’t seen the eight year old for 268 days but he has had a wind operation in the interim and won first time out last season in a valuable handicap chase at Haydock off of a handicap mark only a pound lower than today’s. With his trainer in such fine form still he can strike at the first time of asking this season. Beauport doesn’t look that badly treated and looks the danger.   FONTAINE COLLONGES 1 point win @ 3/1 BetVictor

Maidstone v Barrow Into the FA Cup now and I think Barrow are a fantastic price here to beat Maidstone. To be fair to Maidstone they are having a very good season in National League South and have only lost once at home in the league, but I think Barrow will have too much for them. Pete Wild showed what a good manager he is at Halifax and he fully deserved the move to the EFL last season when Barrow hired him. He had a solid first season, but they have kicked on again this time around and are currently in 3rd place, which given the quality at the top of League 2 this season is no mean feat. They are unbeaten in 10 league games and have only lost 3 all season. Given Wild has come from Non-League he won't underestimate Maidstone and I think they will want a Cup run as well. I'd be disappointed if Barrow didn't prove their class here.   Newport v Barnet A few weeks ago I might have been tempted to back Barnet, but their defending of late has been woeful and if National League sides are able to put 3 or 4 past them then a League 2 side, even one in the bottom half, should be able to score at least a couple of times if they continue to defend as badly as they have. They are a side who do have goals in them of course, but Newport are in really good form at the moment having only lost to Mansfield in their last 5 games and they have beaten league leaders Stockport 2 games ago. They eased past Oldham in the 1st Round and I think they can beat another Non-League side here.   Chesterfield v Leyton Orient (Sunday) Chesterfield have already beaten League 1 Portsmouth in the 1st Round and I think they can beat another here. They will be National League champions in a few months time as they are by far the best side in the division and I thought they were very comfortable against Portsmouth. Orient haven't won in 7 league games and their only wins in the league prior to that run were against Reading and Carlisle who are in the relegation zone. They have draw 5 of those 7 games to be fair, but I don't think there is a huge amount between these two sides, especially in a one off game like this.   Prices from 2pm Friday   Barrow 4pts @ 19/20 with Bet365, Coral and Ladbrokes (take up to 8/13) Newport 1pt @ 6/4 with Bet365 (take up to 11/10) Chesterfield 1pt @ 19/10 with Bet365 (take up to 6/4)

Newbury 1.40 Eleven have declared for this 2M 4 1/2F class 2 handicap hurdle which has a very open look about it. If there is one horse that may well be ahead of his handicap mark then it surely is the Nicky Henderson trained Jet Powered who is making his handicap debut here having impressively won a Irish point to point and a maiden hurdle at the track a year ago. He flopped when last seen as a 2/7 favourite last New Years Eve but a mark of 131 may well underestimate his ability and he’s the pick for a team that is in terrific form. With Nico de Boinville up at Newcastle to ride Constitution Hill, James Bowen comes in for the ride.   JET POWERED 1 point win 7/2 bet365   Newcastle 1.55 The much awaited re-appearance of Nicky Henderson’s superstar Constitution Hill, the real poster boy of National Hunt racing. Unbeaten under rules in seven starts including six Grade ones with last season’s Champion Hurdle at Cheltenham the stand out victory. He bolted up in this last year and at very prohibitive odds should be winning with his head in his chest. Too skinny to back but a race to watch and savour.   Newbury 2.15 Nicky Henderson has won the Coral Bet Bundles Intermediate Handicap Hurdle (better known as the Gerry Feilden) on three of the last four years and looks to have a major chance of enhancing that record with his smart chestnut filly Under Control who’s won four of her five starts so far over hurdles including when defeating her stable mate Iberico Lord who’s already come out and won the Greatwood Handicap Hurdle this season at Sandown when last seen in April. She’s 9lb higher now but could be useful and a recent away day to the track should have put her spot on for this. Her main danger is likely to be the Harry Derham trained Brentford Hope who was so impressive at the last meeting although has been raised 11lb for that victory.   UNDER CONTROL 2 points win @ 11/8 William Hill   Newbury 2.50 An ultra competitive renewal of the 3M 2F Coral Gold Cup, better known to those of us of a certain age as the Hennessy Gold Cup. A field of twenty have declared and claims can be made for plenty. Paul Nicholls took the first major handicap of the season with Stage Star in the Paddy Power Gold Cup a fortnight ago and can take this with his similarly profiled Complete Unknown. A smart novice last season winning at Ffos Las and Kempton as well as running Gerri Colombe to 7 1/2 lengths in a grade 1 novice chase at Aintree. He’s been out already this season winning a three runner intermediate chase at Newton Abbot in October and has been laid out for this. He looks sure to run his race with luck in running and can be backed each way with additional places. Jonjo O’Neill’s Monbeg Genius looks a danger although his re-appearance run at Ascot was rather disappointing.   COMPLETE UNKNOWN 1 point each way @ 15/2 William Hill 1/5th 123456   Newcastle 3.05 Eight line up (although Datsalrightgino and Bill Baxter are more likely to run at Newbury) with the conundrum that is Shiskin making a quick re-appearance after failing to start at Ascot last week. If he jumps off then surely he’ll be able to give weight to some exposed handicappers and it’s worth chancing that he consents to start with last weeks cheek pieces taken off now. Best of the rest may well be Sandy Thomson’s Empire Steel but as long as there’s no shenanigans at the start this valuable prize should be going to NIcky Henderson’s nine year old who may have too much class for his rivals.   SHISHKIN 1 point win @ 13/8 888sport   Newbury 3.25 Just seven line up for this class 2 2M handicap chase. Dan Skelton’s Real Stone blew his opposition away last time out at Haydock coming home 20 lengths to the good in a hack canter and a rise of 8lb looks lenient to me. He is actually held on his previous start by the favourite here Master Chewy but that was Real Stone’s first run of the season and if in the same form as last time should be hard to beat under Harry Skelton.   REAL STONE 1 point win @ 10/3 William Hill

Newbury 1.15 The first of five races shown by ITV from the Berkshire track is this 2 mile 69 yard fillies juvenile hurdle in which the Irish raider Wodhooh will be hard to beat. Trained by Gordon Elliott she’s three from three over hurdles so far with victories at Listowel, Punchestown and Down Royal. She got the better of a Joseph O’Brien previous winner by a neck (18 lengths back to the remainder) at the latter 20 days ago and that should be good enough to defeat the British contingent who have been plying their trade around some of the lesser tracks over here in the last coupe of months. She’ll be short but it’s hard to look beyond Wodhooh.   WODHOOH 2 points win @ 4/6 bet365   Newbury 1.50 Just six line up for this 2M 4F Grade 2 novices’ chase with four of the sextet having already jumped a fence in public. One of the two who haven’t is the Paul Nicholls trained Hermes Allen who won the Challow Hurdle here a year ago. By all accounts he jumps fences brilliantly and having won first time out last season by a wide margin has plenty going for him. He’s the highest rated hurdler of the six and can make a winning chasing debut. There will be plenty of pace on here with the likes of the selection, Nickle Back and Tightenourbelts all happy front running. The last named impressed last time on his chasing debut and could be the one to chase the selection home.   HERMES ALLEN 1 point win 11/8 William Hill   Newbury 2.25 A competitive nine runner class 2 2M 4F handicap chase where Paul Nicholls’s Kandoo Kid can run a big race. He improved plenty for his chasing debut at Warwick when going down by a neck to Galop De Chasse over course and distance at the last meeting here. The pair pulled 32 lengths clear of the third, who was Our Jet who won in the week at Kempton to frank the form. A 6lb rise for that fine effort looks acceptable and he can take this from the Jonjo O’Neill runner Iron Bridge who has won first time out the last three years.   KANDOO KID 1 point win @ 7/2 bet365 KANDOO KID & RAMO 1 point each way double @ 7/2 (1/5 123) & 4/1 (1/5 1234)bet365   Newbury 3.00 The feature race of the day at the Berkshire course is the 3M Long Distance Hurdle. It appears to be between the front three in the betting as the other trio have plenty on at the weights today. Paisley Park has a good record in the race but is rising twelve years of age now whilst the highest rated Dashel Drasher is maybe the biggest threat to Nicky Henderson’s tough mare Marie’s Rock. She’s shown top form over the last two years including when runner up to Sire Du Berlais at Aintree last April when last seen. She’s still unexposed at three miles and with her stable in such fine form is hard to oppose in a race which the stable won last year with Champ.   MARIE’S ROCK 2 points win @ 10/11 William Hill   Newbury 3.35 A dozen staying hurdlers line up for this 3M class 2 handicap hurdle. Venetia Williams has her string in fine shape and can take this with her stout stayer Ramo. He made a winning seasonal debut over a trip that was on the short side for him at Ludlow earlier this month under Miss Lucy Turner, form which has been franked since by the subsequent victory of the runner up Midnightreflection. Charlie Deutsch takes over now and a 5lb rise looks reasonable. Nicky Henderson’s Hyland did it well at Cheltenham and drying ground suits him. He looks a big danger to the selection.   RAMO 1 point win @ 4/1 bet365
