Sunderland have been better than Middlesbrough this season (11 more points tells the tale). Boro have gone off the boil recently losing to Preston and Portsmouth and failing to beat Cardiff. Sunderland slipped up against Plymouth but only because the manager decided to defend their box for the last 20 mins. Hopefully they can edge the derby.
