  4. For this challenge all I want to do is concentrate on making money. I know I can but discipline has always been a major problem of mine. So this thread will become the discipline diary of my journey from coming out of the poker wilderness to (hopefully) hitting my target of 10k in earnings from Sky Poker. There is no time limit on this challenge and I expect it may take a long time! I have read quite a bit of material in the last month or so to bring me up to date with the latest in poker and feel ready to hit a grind again. My current stats are below. http://www.sharkscope.com/#Player-Statistics//networks/SkyPoker/players/Poker_Wolf?filter=Class:SCHEDULED The profit currently sits at £604. I want this to say 10k. Will also be looking to get a shark icon next to my name by raising my ability from 72. Will update here after every day that I play and will continue to upskill myself on todays game .Hoping to also post some interesting hands which some forum members may be able to advise optimal play on. Thanks for looking and to those that take an interest

  5. Gateshead v North Ferriby and Lincoln v Solihull Moors I am not usually a fan of just sticking the two shortest price teams in a double, because most of the time it doesn’t off great value. There are always exceptions to the rule though and at a shade of odds on it is worth backing Gateshead and Lincoln. I didn’t oppose North Ferriby on Saturday because they had been hard to beat at home, but they threw in a stinker and Maidstone beat them 2-0 with ten men. Gateshead battered Braintree 4-1 on Saturday and they could easily do a similar thing here especially as North Ferriby continue to struggle to find the net. Lincoln are now top after beating Tranmere on Saturday. That is 5 wins on the bounce now, meanwhile after a decent start Solihull are struggling. They have lost five of their last six games and have conceded 14 goals in their last four. I’m quite happy to take the shade of odds on on them both winning. Woking v Torquay I’m surprised Woking are favourites for this game. Indeed apart from if they were hosting Guiseley or North Ferriby I wouldn’t have them as favourites to beat anyone in the division at the moment. They did beat Chester three starts ago, but they have struggled again since and were probably a shade fortunate to pick up a point at Guiseley on Saturday. There does seem to be quite a bit of competition to fill the bottom 4 places in the National League this season, but I really do think they have a very good chance of relegation this season as they have no money to spend at all. Granted Torquay have only won once away from home this season, but that did come against Braintree and although they have lost to Sutton and North Ferriby I think there were excuses for those defeats. They have won three out of four and Lincoln needed an injury time winner against them just over a week ago. Bet365’s 15/8 looks a cracking price. Nuneaton v Altrincham If Jim Harvey hadn’t of taken over at Altrincham I would have opposed them against Gloucester on Saturday. Harvey joining was enough to put me off though, but it made no difference as they were very poor in a 5-0 defeat. They have yet to win this season and it might take a bit of time for him to turn them around. Granted Nuneaton have only won once themselves, but they have looked better in their last four matches and deserved to get all 3 points against Darlington on Saturday, but only drew 1-1. A repeat of that will be more than enough and I am happy to take the 6/5. Weymouth v Slough Granted Slough have had a fairly kind fixture list, but even so they look like potential promotion contenders as they have won 6 of their first 8 games. They have won their last four including putting 4 past Redditch on Saturday. Weymouth are a side you usually expect to be up their challenging, but they look like a mid-table side at the moment. They have only won once in their last five games and although a draw against Leamington on Saturday looks good, the home side should really have put the game to bed before Weymouth equalised via a penalty in the 89th minute. Slough should be favourites for this so the fact they are a shade under 2/1 with Marathon looks a big price. Whitby v Ilkeston Whitby have yet to lose in the Evo-Stik Northern Premier this season have won three and drawn three and they look a fair bet to beat Ilkeston on Tuesday night. Whitby have scored just one goal in five of those games, but managed to beat bottom side Frickley 4-0. They have managed to keep a clean sheet in all their wins as well so their defence is looking strong against a side who have only managed one in their three games so far. Ilkeston were forced to start their season late by the league which is why they have only played 3 times and although they got a point against Matlock they were comfortably beaten in their other two including losing 4-1 to Warrington on Saturday. Chances are they will be in a relegation battle this season and I would make the home side odds on to win this so 13/10 looks a big price.

  8. Well done lads and good luck for whenever the final is. Can't remember seeing an email from PP Mag for ages so they've probably given up on me as I never think to download the mag. Don't think I've read one since it was on paper! So please can anyone post when there is anything which needs to go in the diary

  11. 4 selections on the all weather today. 3.10 Kempton – Dubai Dunes – Represents Godolphin and looks a likely type on debut. Vibes from gallops is positive. 4.15 Kempton – Musaanada – Haggas trained, expensive two year old that could be anything for this in form yard. Nothing much to fear from the rest of the field so a chance is taken on this beautifully bred filly. 5.25 Wolverhampton – Harbour Lighting – If taking to the all weather looks a big player in this. 6.55 Wolverhampton – Confident Kid – Trainer has a fine record at the track and the horse has the form to take this maiden.

  14. Back Alla Kudryavtseva to beat Veronica Cepede at 1.57 with Paddy Power Good price for Alla here imo, as Cepede is completely unproven indoors. I have probably only seen her twice, but I don't think that she's recently transformed her clay-court game to a solid hard-court and indoors-court one. What's more, Kudryavtseva has done quite well recently, even beating Osaka, Lepchenko and Mladenovic in Montreal.

Mens Singles Final : Novak Djokovic vs Stanislas Wawrinka Over 39.5 games 10/11 paddy power Over 3.5 sets 4/7 paddy power Djokovic to win 3-1 14/5 paddy power Tie break in the first set 5/2 paddy power Djokovic to have the Most Aces least Doubles faults and win the match 5/1 paddy power Djokovic to win the match and both players to win a set 5/4 paddy power I think this match will be tough for Djokovic as his opponent is just coming back into form and with each round, he is getting better and better and he is getting close to getting back to his best. If it is hot and humid it could affect Djokovic as he does not cope as well as his opponent, so him losing a set will probably happen and if his opponent is back to his best, then expect a five set classic

    What to do.... ?

Hi all, Conscious that I haven't been around much and the poker section here seems quite quiet. I want to do a new challenge but I don't know what. Any suggestions are welcome and the one I like best I will do. I am also conscious that even though I have done a few challenges in the past and done well at them before I have never actually completed a challenge on here in full! My ambition is to change that. I now have a new girlfriend, new son, new house, new car and am generally in a lot better and happier place to sit down and give the time needed to grind. I don't want to play cash, SNG's or anything else I pretend to be good at. I only want to grind tournaments and I only really want to do this on Sky Poker where I have had reasonable success in the past. If no other challenges appeals my ambition is to turn the graph below into £10k profit and I'll keep a daily dairy. No time limit. Just challenge myself to get better and learn more every day. http://www.sharkscope.com/#Player-Statistics//networks/SkyPoker/players/Poker_Wolf?filter=Class:SCHEDULED So... ideas welcome! Would love to start something on Sunday. Thanks for looking

Alright, finals time. Not betting on anything in the women's, the odds look about right to me and I've got Kerber at 9.00, so I'll hope that it will come in and round it all off nicely. As for the men's... Back Stanislas Wawrinka to beat Novak Djokovic at 3.40 with Bet365 Neither guy is looking particularly fit and I'm not sure that we're going to get the match we deserve in a Grand Slam final, but the odds dictate that Wawrinka is the play here. He's been upping his level constantly, he's been tested on at least two tough occasions, and I'd also say that he's got the mental edge here, albeit only a slight one. Djokovic the favourite, but I wouldn't back him below the 1.50 mark.

  21. 5.35 Down Royal - Twist Of Magic @ 13/2 Stan James I think Twist Of Magic has been underrated a bit in this race. He was behind Joyce Compton last time but was further back than ideal running keen off a slow pace. They should go faster today and a 4lb swing in the weights gives him a chance of reversing the form. Duck Egg Blue and Noble Intention were the ones I really wanted to take on at the top of the market. The former looked as if he won a really poor race on heavy ground last time while Lyons and Keane think that the latter has been poorly treated by the handicapper according to his blog. For that reason a 10lb claimer takes the ride so he doesn't shoulder top weight and Keane switches to Twist Of Magic which is another positive for my selection.
