CONCACAF Champions League September 16th-17th 2010

Recommended Posts

Third time of the year this team will clash, in March they played the quarterfinals and Cruz Azul claim the victory in both matches, away(0-1) and home (3-0) to proceed to next stage. Arabe Unido The team will like to claim revenge from last edition elimination, and has been good in home as in their lone match in this edition beat Toronto FC 1-0, but on away the team lost 2-1 to Real Salt Lake. In local tournament the team is on the second position due to goal average, with 14 points. Still on last two matches on away the team haven't been able to won and have a defeat and a draw. Cruz Azul The team lost the final of this tournament last edition and now will like to claim it. Won in the weekend to Atlas on away and is the best team of their local league right now with 4 consecutive victories. In 14 matches against Central American Teams in CONCACAF Champions League, the team has a record of 10 victories, 2 draws and 2 losses. With 40 goals in favor and just 9 goals against. So clearly Cruz Azul dominates central American teams. FW Javier Orozco continues to show his quality and has been called to the National Team, in this competition he has scored several times and is expected to start in this match, together with MF Christian "Chaco" Giemenz the team lead the scoring table of the competition, and the further the season goes, the better this two players perform. Normally Cruz Azul sends a blend of first team and youth players, where youth players are the majority as this is used as a test ground for younger players, but due to the defeat against Toronto FC, the team will field a stronger team to get a result that put them near qualification, as last home match against Real Salt Lake that complicated more than expected but where able to take the victory. Match Arabe Unido will have to put a fierce stand to obtain something from their Stadium, the quality of Cruz Azul overpass that of other visiting teams to Arabe Unido. Expect a very fought match on the middle field. Prediction Cruz Azul with the direction of "Chaco" Gimenez and Javier Orozco should obtain a good away result that push them near of securing qualification to next stage and encounter with ease their remaining matches. Cruz Azul shows more composite and on fire on the offensive, so the -0. 75 AH seems appropriate for this bet. Cruz Azul -0.75 [email protected] at Pinnacle 9/10

Re: CONCACAF Champions League September 16th-17th 2010 Toluca The current Champion of Mexico has 6 matches with out defeat, still 4 draws in that stretch has the team in the 7th position of the league, not far of the top teams as with 2 victories the team would be on the second position overall. In all competitions 8 matches without defeat, with 5 draws in that stretch, the team has showed good improvement in the defense as in last 5 matches has just allowed 1 goal from Necaxa in their last encounter. GK Talavera has showed a great leadership to get this defense going and is the base of the team. Last away match in CONCACAF Champions League, draw 0-0 against FAS, match the team dominate but was unable to score the winning goal. The in home defeated 4-0 Olimpia. Coach De la Torre knows that qualification passes in home field and will send an offensive display as last match of CONCACAF Champions League. Due to an important fixture on the weekend the team will save some players from this match, but despite this, the team will be competitive as always. Recently the club has had a very good work with youth players and they have consolidate on the first team, like FW Raul Nava, FW Carlos Esquivel, MF Isaac Brizuela, MF Nestor Calderon, DF Francisco Gamboa and MF Antonio Rios, which normally take a place in the starting XI. Even MF Antonio Rios was called to Mexico National Team. Puerto Rico Islanders The team has mixed results in this edition of the CONCACAF Champions League, first kick out LA Galaxy from the competition, despite losing the second leg in home. Then have maintained unbeaten in home with a draw against Olimpia 1-1, and the won 4-1 to FAS, now the team will go on away, and to one of the cities with more altitude of Mexico, something that will act against them as the match proceed. In their local tournament the team won last match in home against Austin Aztex, by 3-1, but before that victory the team had a streak of 3 matches without victory, one in home against Montreal Impact 1-2 less than 10 days ago, with 2 other matches in away without victory. Their defense has prevail in just 1 of the last 5 matches, as only one clean sheet collected by the team, and is the area they need more improvement. Match Expect a Islanders laid back and looking to counterattack to obtain something from this match as anything besides the defeat will be a gain for them. Toluca will continue to show a good defense and look forward to obtain the goal to take the victory. Prediction Toluca on home is more offensive than on away, but furthermore their defense makes a great work and that is the basis to taking victor, the altitude of Toluca city will be an ally for Toluca and should obtain the victory, is to see than if by more than one goal, so the -1. 25 AH line is a good choice.
