djkiz
Any tips when looking to back a horse, in a race such as this. I probably will only have a small bet and watch the race mainly to ensure I can find a future winner. :lol Regards
fintron
Re: 2yo Filly races The first crude thing to look for is purchase price. Whilst not necessarily a sure fire sign of success, a filly that cost £100,000 may turn out to be better than one bought by £1k. The trainer is important, some trainers excel with juveniles, Hannon for one is excellent. Lastly breeding, look at the distances and ages at which her relatives won. If she is a half-sister to a filly that won over a mile at two and she is running over a mile, that indicates the trip should suit on breeding. If her relatives won over sprint distances as a two year old and only won over a mile in their later careers when four or five, she may be ineffective over a mile so soon. Breeding and Trainer - The purchase price is interesting Thanks
jtw1
Re: 2yo Filly races Previous racecourse is a positive esp if the majority are unraced , also worthwhile checking to see if it has future entries in Listed or Group races
