New Saturday Fun Comp ~ Starts next week?

Been thinking of something to do on a Saturday when the ATR section is busy that doesnt take long and may lure the lurkers into signing up and attract some newbies aswell as a bit of competative fun for the regulars. Anyway, the competition will be like a last man standing type format and will last for however many saturdays there are in the month, usually 4 but we do have 5 in May and July. The idea will be to select a horse that will get placed in any of the terrestrial televised races, ie; C4 or BBC, this will mainly be the Scoop6 races I imagine but they do show the odd other race live sometimes, these will be published on the Friday evening previous. If your horse is placed you go through to the next week and so on until the 4/5 weeks are completed, if your selection is unplaced you are out of the comp for that month. Sounds easy but we will see? All players that safely manage to pick 4/5 placed horses by the end of the month will be in the final tie breaker which will be decided by the highest returns from a £1 EW Accumalator on your chosen selections throughout the month. Some may decide to play safe and choose fav's and try and get the win part of the Acca up and others will decide that wont be enough and select the bigger prices and those that are through to the last week may have to go for an outsider but at the same time risk going out all together. Anyway its a bit of fun and we will see what the interest is like, to make it far more accessible for the new posters this comp will not insist on any reasoning for the selections but are most welcome as usual. For the first week of the comp all bets can be posted up to the off time of their chosen race but from then on they have to be posted by the time of the first televised race, this is to prevent posters benefiting by waiting for others results. Reserves are allowed in case of NR's. Rules; One Horse to be Placed in a live televised race (C4 and BBC only). Reserves are allowed as NR's will count as losers. No reasoning needed but welcomed. EW terms as per Horse Racing rules. £1 EW Acca will be used to decide winner if more than one man standing after 4/5 weeks. Week 1 bets can be posted up to the race time but following weeks must be posted by time of first race. *I will put up a thread every Friday Evening, if you need to post early feel free to start the thread. I'm hoping we get over 20 players in the first week, so try and support the comp and any lurkers out there, get signed up and join in as we have more stuff coming soon with Cheltenham on the horizon:ok BH
