Dates for the turf flat season

Hi, I'm new to horse racing, in fact, I know literally nothing! Does anyone know the dates and possibly the courses that the flat season started and finished since 2005 (including 2009)? Or alternatively are there any big races in March that the flat normally follows? Thanks in advance! Dave

Re: Dates for the turf flat season Hi All Weather Flat racing goes on all year round Turf flat racing runs from around the last week of March to the first week of November. The first meeting is the Doncaster Lincoln Meeting over 2 days (saturday and Sunday), used to be 3 days (Thurs, Fri and Saturday) The actual date changes every year depending on what date those days fall on The first race of the turf flat season is always 'The Brocklesby Stakes' - the first race on the first day of the Doncaster meeting. The first 'big race' is the Lincoln Handicap' on the saturday of the doncaster meeting. The end of the turf flat season is a bit more problemtaic as it just fizzles out a bit. Usually the last main meeting is also at Doncaster and usually called the 'November Meeting'......
