Perhaps the Serie A "silly season" has started early this year. Anyway, both the EP and Serie A have played 31 rounds, so there will only be one more round of selections.... next weekend. However, I have just realised that Arsenal and Everton have played 32 games..... as the system officially ignores the last 6 rounds of matches, the game does not qualify. In fact, for the first time in four seasons, we suffered a loss (4.3%). Interestingly, the unofficial "X-Stake" system performed slightly better, with a loss of only 3.0%. The performance of the English Premier was particularly disasterous, with a loss of nearly 20%. The table below shows the results over the four seasons. The EP has consistently been the under-achiever, and I may consider dropping it for next season - perhaps bringing in a substitute league, if I can get some good back-test results. Selections are based on EP/IA home teams with odds of between 1.45 and 1.80 as published by Bet365..... as I have said before, it is a very basic system for brain-deads like me ;) For my other "Overs" thread, the selections are based on a statistical model into which are fed 1X2 odds and O/U odds..... so, there is no particular site used. When I did the original back-testing, only the EP and IA stood out...... no logic in this, probably just a statistical "blip". But it seems to be profitable over the past 4 seasons, so I will continue. Both the EP and IA have now played 6 rounds, so this weekend will see the first selections of the 2013/14 season (looks as though there will be three). I have kept an "unofficial" track of the first 6 rounds and, as usual, the results have been poor (that's why I avoid them!!)....... I will post the weekend's selections Friday evening / Saturday morning :ok PS...... my previous image hoster ("imageframe") seems to have disappeared.
