Re: confederations cup 2009 Don't believe in Pharaons. Italians know they have Brazil in last match. They are always slow starters. A lot depends on first 20 minutes. If Italians will start like against USA and Egyptians will play as with Brazil in 2nd half than draw is possible. But if Italy stops Pharaons in midfield and scores an early goal they won't leave so much place for counters as Cariocas did. Will see but in any case it will be a tough match for both sides. Brazil should do it but it won't be easy.

Egypt should be able to take the italians. Brazil should be able to take the americans. ;)

Not so sure on the Brazilians to be honest, they have a very shaky defence as we saw againts Egypt and also in the World Cup Qualifiers where both Bolivia and Columbia tied Brazil....in Brazil, and Ecuador tied them in Quito. I know USA is better than Columbia, Bolivia and Ecuador so they have a good chance againts a tired Brazilian side. Also looks like Maicon and Juan will sit out of this match, the Roman defender being most likely replaced by Benfica's Luisao.

Brazil was totally unmotivated against Bolivians. They played the match like they were on holidays. They don't show more as they have to in SA qualifications to get to WC. Only if Argentina explodes they have some extra motivation.

Re: confederations cup 2009 guys last nights RSA and NZ game didnt go to well! so today is another day. Brazil v USA 2-3 goals @ even money 1st goal to be scored by head or other body part @ 7/2 brazil to score in both halves @ 10/11 my reasoning for these bets are. brazil have quality as we all know but when they go a goal up they keep going, they never sit back and are always on the front foot. USA struggled IMO against an average italy side. USA arent great at the back and also struggle to keep clean sheets against honduras etc.

Re: confederations cup 2009 Italy v Egypt. Toughest game of the tournement to call so far. italy @ 13/2 to come from behind is a nice bet. both teanms to score @ 5/6. both these teams have good strikers but are lacking a bit at the back so should see both sides score. again italy only ever play when they are needed to so egypt to take the lead and the italians to come from behind should be the bets to play here. as i say tough tough game to call so small stakes for me

Yea its a really tough game to call, for me it was between Egypt +1 or Under 2.5.Everyone knows how Italians play good defensive football and dont concede too many in important games specially with F.Cannavaro hopefully back in the squad. As for Egypt it all depends how hungry there on the day and will need to go and hunt for that first valuable goal to have any chance because I can see if Italy score first it would be all over as Italians will go in lock-down down mode and search for that 2nd killer goal.

Re: confederations cup 2009

As for Egypt it all depends how hungry there on the day and will need to go and hunt for that first valuable goal to have any chance because I can see if Italy score first it would be all over as Italians will go in lock-down down mode and search for that 2nd killer goal.
Agree with that.

Re: confederations cup 2009 egypt look to have the fight in them to be able to keep up with italy after that brazil game, they are not going to be worried about going a goal behind, even thou brazil took their foot of the gas egypt still had to put the ball in the net, definitely see goals in this game too, italy were lucky that the usa had a man sent off so we cant really tell how italy will play yet and a draw means if they can beat brazil then they get the easier game in the semis im trying egypt then draw and italy then draw in the ht ft market at odds of 17s on betfair and i think ill cover it with draw draw @ 6.2 also like the Aboutriaka to score anytime @ 4s

Do you think Italians are counting on beating Brazil? Don't remember last time they managed to do that. Think they are aiming on a draw and better goal difference as Cariocas.
