Boulder5111 Posted May 23, 2009 Share Posted May 23, 2009 I've been working on a system lately for backing horses on the place market on Betfair. My main criteria when devising the system was that it had to have a defined set of rules (ie no ambiguity) and that it had to be quick to pinpoint the selections. The selections and strategy will always meet the following criteria : 1) The place market on Betfair will pay at least 3 places. 2) There will be a maximum of 2 selections in any particular race. 3) Where there are 2 selections in a race, the '1st choice' will be shown first. 4) The starting bank is £400 and the stake is 2% of the bank which is recalculated on a daily basis. 5) The system takes approx 15-30 minutes per day to find the selections 6) All results are recorded using the Betfair SP less 5% commission but I am also recording the price that I get matched at if the Betfair SP is not taken. This is purely to record whether I am beating the price or whether I'll be better off just taking the Betfair SP. Anyway, here goes :hope.....(stake is £8 on each of the following on the place market). Friday night was evening racing followed by an 80s concert - Midge Ure, Belinda Carlisle that kind of thing (shame the rain was torrential at the time !). Also I've got to mention the ride by William Buick on Oceana Blue in the first this afternoon. I thought he was doing well to get the horse in the frame but he managed to get its head in front on the line. This kid really is good. Malakiya in the first brought a sequence of 9 winners to an end, the 9-fold accumulator was 813-1. Also, the only odds-on shot of the day (Overstrand) failed to oblige so that brought an end to 14 consecutive odds-on winners, the accumulator for that paid 589-1.
