3.20 Kempton Sporting Life have this down as a class 3 handicap. Judging by the prize money and the official ratings of the entrants I imagine that has to be a typo. In my opinion, Marie Tempest may want further as she's been keeping on but often been outpaced over 10f. They go over 10f here so I'll pass over despite tempting odds. Hatch A Plan has hit traffic problems on his last couple of starts. On 8th Oct "slowly into stride, held up behind mid division, raced wide, ridden over 2f out, keeping on when badly hampered and snatched up over 1f out, not recover" and then on 10th Jan "mid-division, not clear run and switched left 2f out, no further impression". He hung left on his last run at Ling and although evidently not straightforward, has won off a 12 lb higher AW mark in the past. However, I think Desert Hawk could be the one to be on. He drops back down in trip, having been running over a mile and a half, and all of his wins have come over 9-10f. He's 6 lbs lower than his highest ever winning mark and may have been able to show a bit more in a weak event last time had he not hit the rail. 13/2 SJ
