RuleBritannia
Re: Wolverhampton Placepot!!! Night alone for me, so I have decided to have a play at Wolverhampton, with Placepot, Quadpot and single bets to be determined close to the races starting. My Placepot (and obviously Legs through 6 are Quadpot) selections are..... Single Lines for me. Basis for selection is form of last 2 runs, whichever has best and 2 finishes, regardless of class of race, distance or track etc..... LEG 1 - Firewalker 54 LEG 2 - Drifting Gold 31 LEG 3 - Ahlawy 11 LEG 4 - Red Somerset 21 LEG 5 - Common Diva 31 LEG 6 - Bridgewater Boys 23 I recognise that Legs 2 through 5 are all favourites, so I have re-invested my voided pts from ScotsIrish earlier today and have also gone 5 pts for Quad Pot. 5 pts Placepot 5 pts Quadpot Just for fun, I have also let my 5 year old daughter randomly pick 6 horses and have also placed them for 1 pt. No reasoning other than above.... LEG 1 - Lady Hopeful LEG 2 - Garlogs LEG 3 - Heathyards Pride LEG 4 - Red Somerset LEG 5 - Jonnie Skull LEG 6 - Baan 1 Pt Placepot, 1 Pt Quadpot. mattmcandrew
Re: Wolverhampton Placepot!!! I'll do mine in a mo. I'm very much a...one horse per race kinda guy. Suited me quite well recently with a £600+ payout at Southwell recently for a £5 stake. Can't wait until the turf flat season returns. That's when placepots are easier to work out. stewartd14
Re: Wolverhampton Placepot!!! Lets have a small shot: Race 1: Firewalker - Tough contest, and apprentice races have a tendency to throw up strange results. However, I am going to take the best jockey in the race Russ Kennemore on Firewalker. This is the horse's first drop to Classified company and should go close. Race 2: Sarahs Art - Wouldnt back this horse to win outright, but he looks good for the Placepot. Will get a strong pace and come late, hopefully running into a place. Garlogs - This horse drops in class here and is consistent over this trip in better races. Has to carry top weight, but Russ Kennemore (again) takes some weight off. A lively outsider IMO. Race 3 Ahlawy - My placepot banker. Hasnt been out of the 1st 3 in her last 6 starts, 5 at Wolverhampton. Steps up in class but this isnt a great race. Race 4 - Very tough placepot race - competitive 7 runner field :\ Wasp - Unexposed, form at track, capable of improving past a lot of these. Tourist - Money for the horse over C&D last time out. Should come on for that run and will hopefully run into a place. I cant have Red Somerset at the price here. Race 5 - Another toughie Common Diva - Very boring selection, but he is the only one I think should definitely place. Trappy heat, but this horse won well last time and should build on that run. Race 6 Tampa Boy - Not sure whether I will still bein by leg 6, but siding with an outsider. Tampa Boy is improving and looked good on his 1st run over this distance last time out. He has scope to improve which some of the others havent, and looks the value pick. Small stakes, as very tough IMO. 4 lines @ £1 Firewalker Sarahs Art/Garlogs Ahlawy Wasp/Tourist Common Diva Tampa Boy

RuleBritannia
Re: Wolverhampton Placepot!!! Normal service resumed : Out first leg :eyes Strange for me, I normally make the frame in legs 1 and 2. Its the third one that usually kills me, ironically killing the Quadpot at the start as well.
