Ciclon
Re: Argentina » Torneo de Verano ( 14-15 Jan.´09 ) Tuesday January 13 River (-0.25) - Independiente HW 5/10 1.96 SBO River starts the year with new coach (Gorosito, had a great season at Argentinos Jrs.) and even though this is a friendly, he wants to start with the right step, so he will use most of his regulars, including experienced defenders Gerlo and Quiroga, Villagra (played in the NT in the last friendly vs Scotland), GK Vega and midfielders Ahumada and Abelairas. The only young guy of the team will be striker Bou. Independiente will use a very similar team to the one that beat Racing last Saturday, but i don't expect them to have many chances just because River is no way as poor as Racing. Medium stakes bet because although both definitely want to win, it's a friendly and test for coaches.

FT 1-1:@ Really bad luck, River played much better and missed 4 or 5 great chances in the 2nd half. Should have won...
Ciclon
Re: Argentina » Torneo de Verano ( 14-15 Jan.´09 ) Last chance for me on this tournament, if it doesn't go ok, i'll skip it until "real" games start in a few weeks. Wednesday January 14 San Lorenzo - Racing UNDER 2.5 6/10 1.81 (SBO) Racing definitely doesn't want to lose again after last Saturday 0-4 so they're making several changes for this game, and they'll be using players that rarely played together, including a debuting young striker. They had problems scoring all last year, and now without their best player (he went to Velez because they couldn't pay as much as he wanted), they will definitely continue to struggle to score. The other striker is very young too and scored 1 goal in 10 games last year. San Lorenzo is using lots of subs too, with 2 strikers without much action in the last year. One of them, Peirone, barely played in the last 2 years. He once was a young promise but he's been struggling with injuries and weight problems. But they will be using a strong defense with 3 players (Tula, Voboril and Bianchi Arce) that played many games as regulars. :hope
