Youssef
Re: UEFA CUP Qualifying Round (31 July) Tip Detail SportFootball (Euro Cups) EventZestafoni - Gyor SelectionHome win Strength10/10 Date31/07/2008 Bookmaker/Price>Bet365 @ 2.50 (Back) ReasoningGeorgia’s Zestafoni managed a precious 1-1 away draw in the 1st leg that sets them firmly as the favourites in the 2nd leg at home. However, beware the Hungarians for they may have a trick or two still under their sleeves. Both squads had finished last season strongly in their respective leagues. Gyor were unbeaten in their last 4 games, winning their last 3, thus making their stride into the UEFA Cup slot (3rd position). However, they have lost the lonely game they’ve played in this season’s league, and have not kept a clean sheet in the last 9 official games (incluing the 1st leg). Zestafoni’s new domestic season is yet to begin, but they –also- finished last season strongly, winning 3 of the last 4 and unbeaten in them. They have also managed 2 clean sheets in them, but –including the 1st leg- have not kept a clean sheet in 3 games. So, the two relatively unknowns are set to battle it out to progress in the UEFA Cup, and although neither would be expected to make it far, this would still be a fierce fight over s little more cash for the winner, and as the Georgians seem to be the favourites after drawing away (even the 0-0 is in their favour), plus the Hungarians loss in their opening domestic game, I think I’m going to invest on them. My choice would have to be either the outright home win (@ 2.50 w/Bet35 or BetFred) or Zestafoni to qualify (@ 1.75 w/Bwin). Although the latter covers the 0-0 draw, and the 1-1 draw w/ PK shoot outs, I see value in the outright win option as the win is double as much. Youssef
Re: UEFA CUP Qualifying Round (31 July) Tip Detail SportFootball (Euro Cups) EventWIT - Trnava SelectionHome win Strength10/10 Date31/07/2008 Bookmaker/Price5Dimes @ 2.44 (Back) ReasoningA 2-2 away draw puts WIT in the driving seat today as they host Spartak Trnava in the return leg. The hosts have yet to start their domestic season, while the visitors have played twice in their domestic league, winning the opening game at home, but losing 0-3 away in their 2nd game. This maybe the main factor I’m building my tip on. Trnava are vulnerable away. Last season they won only 5, drew 3 and lost 9 games on the road in the Slovakian Super league. In last season’s Umaglesi league, WIT have won 10 of their 13 home gams, losing only twice at home. This means they are a strong outfir at home, although they are also reliable on the road with 9-2-2 being their away form of last season in their domestic league. So, based on the available stats an backed up by the 1st game result I would expect the home side to win this game and advance to the next round. There’s absolutely no way I’m going to use the 1.35 on the “to qualify” market, so the only option here is the 2.44 available on the home win with 5Dimes. Youssef
Re: UEFA CUP Qualifying Round (31 July) Tip Detail SportFootball (Euro Cups) EventBanants - Salzburg SelectionDraw Strength10/10 Date31/07/2008 Bookmaker/PriceBetandWin @ 5.00 (Back) Reasoning4 different players contributed to Salzburg’s massive home win (7-0) in the 1st leg. Ngwat-Mahop scored a hat-trick, while Zickler netted a brace, to insure Salzburg are already qualifie beyond any reasonable doubt. The question now is whether Yerevan can save some pride by producing a positive result at home, or go out crashing as a signal of their poor quality to compete in European competitions. I say the 0-7 whipping they received in Salzburg syas it all. They are no match to their visitors, whom are themselves not a big name and certainly will not stand the heat in advance rounds. However, Salzburg were lucky enough to play a team that could have lost to any of England’s League Two squads, and would expect them to win again, and probably keep a clean sheet as well. I simply cannot see Yerevan overcoming the ocean-wie gap between themselves and their visitors. Armenia’s season is mid-wa through, with Banants occupying 4th spot of 8. There are 6 teams from Yerevan amongst the 8 so it’s hard to determine what games are to be considere “home” games anyway, but according to the official schedule, Bannants are 4-1-2 at home. They have lost their last home game though (0-1 at vs Mika) although 2 weeks earlier they had beaten Mika 3-1 away. Maybe they were still hung over from the 0-7?? The one draw back is that Salzburg won all 3 home games in the new season’s T-moblie Bundesliga, and had not conceded a single goal in either oif them, scoring 16 goals in total. However, on the oad they have playe twice, and both produced scoring draws (1-1 at Kapfenberg and 2-2 at Rapid Vienna). If we take this as the base of our decision, then we should be betting on the draw (@ 5.00 w/BWin), and although that doesn’t “feel” right to me, I think it’s the value bet regardless of my own view that the visitors should still win. Youssef
Re: UEFA CUP Qualifying Round (31 July) Tip Detail SportFootball (Euro Cups) EventOlimpik Baku - Vojvodina SelectionUnder 1.75 Strength10/10 Date31/07/2008 Bookmaker/Price>Bet365 @ 1.75 (Back) ReasoningYou don't usually get many goals in Olimpik Baku's games. In fact in their last 6 games only 6 goals were scored, and non went over 2.5 However, these are old stats as the only match they've playe in the new season has been the 1st leg in Vojvodina which ended in their defeat by the odd goal. Voivodina do have the potential to score goals on nthe road, but that's also old stats from last season. They also have not played any games in the new season besies the 1st leg of this tie. Two absolute unknowns here, with a narrow home win in the first leg means all options are avaialble in the 2nd leg. I would rather not bet on the outcome here, although I believe there's value in this 3.55 on offer (BWin) on the home side to qualify. They have only lost 0-1 away and are playing at the comfort of their own pitch. However, I think I'll settle for the 1.75 on the under 2.5 goals option w/Bet365. The game is tense, with both sides having all to play for, so maybe it will be tight and follow the trend of the Azeri's games, which is a low score. Youssef
Re: UEFA CUP Qualifying Round (31 July) Tip Detail SportFootball (Euro Cups) EventLiepajas Metalurgs - Glentoran SelectionHome win Strength10/10 Date31/07/2008 Bookmaker/PriceExpekt @ 1.45 (Back) ReasoningEverybody has beeten Hearts. Everybody BUT Gelntoran. Hearst lost all 3 last games in SPL last season, against the likes of Falkirk, Kilmarnock and even Gretna. In their pre-season friendlies they have only scored once in 3 games, and that was against Glentoran. That was also the only match the managed a draw, having lost to Dunfermline and Kaisrslautern. Just how poor can this Glentoran squad be? Well, they lost 0-5 to Burnley in another friendly. Burnley only managed a 1-1 draw to QoS, and barely won 1-0 over Partick Thistle, and even over Accrington they only won by 3-0 before they crushed Glentoran. After that they played only one game and barely managed a 2-1 win over Bradford. So that’s how poor Glentoran must be. Metalurgs are 4th (of 10) on the Latvian Virsliga table, but it’s due to them drawing too many games on the road. 2-5-1 is ntheir away form in the league, and indeed the 1-1 draw in the 1st leg fits the trend. If so, then the 4-3-1 should also fit, meaning that we have only the home win or the draw to bet on with any realistic chance of collecting. Unfortunately the 1.45 is not of much appeal to back the home side outright, but that’s about the only option available, for the A,H, line (set on -1.25) could be tricky due to any win being enough for Metalurgs. Of course, with Glentoran’s 0-5 loss to Burnley they may lose by more than one here as well, but I wouldn’t be too confident since I would think Burnley would also be able to win over Metalurgs easily. Youssef
Re: UEFA CUP Qualifying Round (31 July) Tip Detail SportFootball (Euro Cups) EventMilano Kumanovo - Omonia Nicosia SelectionOver 2.10 Strength10/10 Date31/07/2008 Bookmaker/PriceBetDirect @ 2.10 (Back) ReasoningThe Macedonians are traditionally strong at home of late. Whether it be the national team or the individual squads, the Macedonians rarely lose at home, so that's a starting point. The Cypriot are no good travellers either, and they rarely win away from home. However, they are travelling on the back of a 2-0 home win in the 1st leg, which gives them a considerable advantage to qualify, even if they lose by a 1 goal margin, or even by any 2 goals margin othe than the 0-2 exact score. The draw (@ 3.60) look of some value to me, but I have no guts to bet on it either. So, over 2.5 goals (@ 2.10 w/ BetDirect or StanJames) becomes my preferred bet on this game. I would like to think that Milano Kumanovo has no option but to go for an early goal in search of a come back into the tie, while Omonia will be looking for a goal that brings them much closer to sealing their qualification as they would have to concede 4 to get eliminated if they do manage to score. There'e -of course- the possibility that the visitors may opt to defend in order to put the pressure on the hosts as time goes by and it's still goalless. There's also the possibilty that the hosts pushing forward may open up their defence and give Omonia a chance to score 1st, and it the hosts may then feelm aggrevated and lose enthusiasm. However, I'm taking my chances anyway, as there's no such bet as a 100% winner in this gam, so I accept the risk and think the 2.10 has value still. They will be the much fitter side having played 3 games in the last 10 days whereas Zrinjski’s season has not started and they have had just 1 game (the 1st leg) in the last month. Vaduz sit top of the Swiss league and look value to gain their revenge here at above 2/1.

Flora Tallin are unbeaten in 10 games (since May 24th), and unbeaten in 9 at home (since April 12th), winning 7 of them. On the other hand, Djurgaardens have not won a single game since May 1st. 10 games they played and lost 7 of them, drawing only 3. On the road, they've lost 3 and drew 2 of the last 5 (since May 4th). The first leg ended goalless in Sweden. Now, how can be Djurgaardens (visitors) be odds on? The way I see it is this shoul be a clear home win (@ 4.00 with many bookies), or at least a draw in the worst case, but Djurgaardens should not have more than 10% a chance of winning in Tallin, based on latest form that's been going on for 2-3 months. No? Ok.. I will be conservative and bet on the double chance. 1.90 is good enough as I think it's 90% a probability that the home side would not lose, so there's definitely value in these odds. The sides drew 2-2 in the first leg so Cork will really have to come out and go for it here or risk going out on the away goals rule. Haka are undefeated in their last 5 games but Cork are also on a 9 game unbeaten run and they have won their last 6 away games in the Irish Premier, so their away form certainly looks impressive. I think the market ought to be more evenly matched here and Im simply backing Cork because of the value on offer.

Tallin are undefeated in their last 15 games and managed a solid 0-0 draw in the 1st leg of this tie. You would think they now have the advantage playing back on home turf. Djugarden have not won in their last 8 games so I really don’t understand the odds here. Sure, they play in a stronger league but Tallin proved they are a match for the Swedes in the first leg and look terrific value in this game in my opinion. Burran
Re: UEFA CUP Qualifying Round (31 July) The estonian league is really weak. A very uneven league where scores like 7-1, 0-6, 7-2 occurs all the time. The top three teams are from Tallin and it looks to me that they are the only ones with some qualities. Djurgårdens form is really bad, but the swedish league is much more competitive than the estonian one. I'm not saying that Djurgården will win this one but for example they have much more chance than 10% of winning. They have a good team, bought some really good players from other teams in Allsvenskan but the results just haven't been going their way. Maybe this is a good game to turn things around. Good luck with your bets but I'm staying away from this one. I'm backing the two georgian sides for now!
