turnlux
Re: It's a Knockout!!! Yes very nicely done' date=' and almost doubled your starting bank too!![/quote'] Thanks lads, although did have 2 losers in the other 2. I have a problem now though coz no one is covering all the matches in the Grand Prix De Sar, so at the moment i'm stuck with a tournament i can't finish. So what i may do is add the liability picked up from the first round and add it to the 1 tournament i have left to recover lost stakes and just void the tournament, target and profit on that one. turnlux
Re: It's a Knockout!!! Tournament 3: Grand Prix De Sar (Morrocco) Target: Timea Baczinsky:@ 6-2 6-4 First Match: Baczinsky v Nadia Lalami (Tues 29th 11am) Bet: Lay Baczinsky @ 1.11 Stake: £10.53 (Liability £1.16) Right this is the one i'm having problems with, can't find an exchange or bookmaker that has odds for the next match. So what i'm going to do is void this tournament and the possible profit and just try and re-coup the £1.16 liability along with the loss from below.:ok Easy win for ancic, never looked in doubt, so we roll on to round 2 and more confidence we may get through this one. Tournament 2: Open Sabadell Atlantico Target: Mario Ancic:@ 6-4 6-4 Second Match: Ancic v Andy Murray (Wed 30th 9.30am) Bet: Lay Ancic @ 2.96 Stake: £13.96 (Liability £27.36) Bit of a surprise this one as wasn't expecting Murray to lose. So on to Round 3 where ancic may play the winner of almagro v volandri. Same as always try to recover the £27.36 + £1.16= £28.52 in lost stakes and £10 target profit. After today's 2 wins the stats stand:- Start Bank:£100 Current Bank: £190 P/L:£90:loon If the next one comes in then it's bank doubled.:beer
turnlux
Re: It's a Knockout!!! Time for round 3 and looking at a biggish liability here. Tournament: Open Sabadell Atlantico Round 3 Target: Mario Ancic Match: Ancic v Nicolas Almagro (Thurs 1st May 5pm) Bet: Lay Ancic @ 3.05 Stake: £30.02 (Liability £61.54) have had a look on the h2h on this and ancic leads 1-0 after a 3 setter on grass, so can't really read too much in to that. Having looked at the year to date stats, it shows that this match could go really either way. Fingers crossed it's Almagro's.:ok

I think roughly your looking at around 12/1 to 16/1 for the 5th fav. Possibly more when you've got guys like Nadal and Federer in the tournament. turnlux
Re: It's a Knockout!!! Bank Doubled Thanks for the congrats and good luck wishes boys, much appreciated. Just noticed this tournament and think i will be able to get a quick bet on the outright in before it gets too far along. Tournament: IIHF World Championships 2008 Ice Hockey Target: Czech Republic (Outright 10.5) Next match: v Russia (04 may 18.00pm) Bet: Lay Czech Rep @ 3.2 Stake: £10.53 (Liability £23.17) Will confirm stake and odds on this one when liquidity allows. Most probably will look to take a bet on this one close to the 6pm kick off time. Will lay the czech's in every match until they lose to obtain target profit and will continue lost stakes on to next match too if they progress. Wow that was a quick tournament winner:loon although it was in the balance plenty of times as the czechs took an early lead and then pulled level on 3 separate occasions. Thankfully the russians pulled out the winner in over time. Got 2 tennis tournaments for next week, so back later with the stats for those. turnlux
Re: It's a Knockout!!! Bank Doubled Right 2 tennis tournaments for next week and i am off to rome and Germany. For the rome masters i am looking for my old friend David Ferrer to slip up again. He's currently an amazing 33-1 to win outright and that makes him 5th fav behind nadal, federer, djokovic and davydenko. Tournament 1: Rome Masters Target: David Ferrer 1st Match: v Radek Stepanek or Jarkko Nieminen (Tues 6th May) Ferrer could meet federer in the quarters of this tournament, which to be honest i can't see him not getting that far. As with before i will use the 5th seed rather than 5th fav due to lack of liquidity at this stage in the outright markets on the womens tournament. Tournament 2: Qatar Telecom German Open Target: Serena Williams First Match: v Francesca Schiavone or Alize Cornet(Tues 6th May) Possible tough matches for serena could be a quarter tie v justine henin or a semi against one of the top 4 should they all qualify.:ok
Mr Intensity
Re: It's a Knockout!!! Bank Doubled Are you sure about Serena turn? She's pretty much always going to be a "false seed" due to injuries and not playing a full calender. Stan James have a market up with Serena as 3rd fav and Jankovic as a clear 5th favourite. turnlux
Re: It's a Knockout!!! Bank Doubled Have just looked through the ATP Archive of this seasons tournament results and a 5th seeded player has yet to win a tournament from the opening round. Also i noticed that only once has a player that was 5th seed ever reached the final. Now this could mean that my little run is due to come to an end very soon (lol) or it could mean that it is one of those statistical occurences that obviously if you play enough tournaments then a winner will crop up but it is by and large not going to happen that often. When i get a chance i'll check the WTA for the same. Be interesting to check this over a number of years to see if this is a regular occurence. Maybe worth investigating other sports too, like snooker or darts. Just a thought anyway.

This is seriously looking as the one that could end the wining streak, especially after both Kuznetsova and Henin were knocked out today and they were both in serena's half of the draw. It looks as if i am looking for an upset or maybe Ivanovic to beat her in the final. Anyway on to the quarters:- Tournament: Qatar Telecom German Open Target: Serena Williams Next Match: v D.
