Re: Musselburgh 03/02/08 The Joker 2.00 Musselburgh e/w Won LTO over CD by 16L's in a class 4 carring 11-0st. He steps up to this class 3 and inc the claimer he's 6lb up but he could run well at a fair price with 10-11 on his back. 10/1

Re: Musselburgh 03/02/08 April San 1.30 Musselburgh taken from stable tours in RP

"Finished second for us first time at Wetherby, and we blamed ourselves when he got beat at Hexham, as we shouldn´t have run him on what was very tacky ground. He´s been gelded since that run and has physically done very well. He could be one to follow in novice hurdles."
G.Lee knows his way around here and Ferdy has had a couple of winners in the last couple of days. 5/1

Re: Musselburgh 03/02/08 Might have a little Nibble on Galero and Deja Vu E/W at 12/1 and 14/1. Clearly both have the ability with Galero being a CD winner ;up 2lb but claimer takes off 3lb. Deja Vu pulled up last 4 times but another CD winner that has run well (albet in 2005) in todays conditions

Re: Musselburgh 03/02/08 2.30 - Los Nadis E/W Two wins over C&D for this one with G Lee on board are a must bet here at Musselburgh. We get the value, because the fav beat Franchoek, but it is way too short and I'll be taking him on. Hope the runners stay 8 for 3 places.

Re: Musselburgh 03/02/08 2.00 - The Joker E/W Won over C&D by 16 lengths and steps up in class today for this hurdling effort, but will carry less weigth, because of this. Won't be with a claimer, but has a decent jockey on board and should go very close. 11.0 @ SpBet and Betfred is huge compared to 8.6 @ Betfair and some bookies are as low as 7/1.

Re: Musselburgh 03/02/08 Dundock 2.00 Musselburgh (5pts EW @ 9-1 >Betfred)

Dundock Raced on soft for 1st time last time out and won by 7 lengths. Made good headway and stayed on strongly. Will be interesting over similar trip (2m 4f) or over shorter in a faster run race.
Returns to Musselburgh as a course and distance winner and is up 9lb and has the same 7lb claimer on board as for its last success. Hadn't shown much on good ground and seemed to enjoy the softer surface. The 2nd from that race - Smart Man has been 2nd again since in a class 4 race at this track. Looks like a decent ew bet at 9-1, rival Backbeat drops back in trip and may not be suited by it and current favourite Ipay Isay had a heavy fall last time out and has yet to win a race.

Re: Musselburgh 03/02/08 Act Sirius 2.30 Musselburgh (EW - 22-1 Betfred) Harper Valley 2.30 Musselburgh (LAY BET) Harper Valley at odds on is no bet for me. If you are backing a horse at odds on you have to think there is not really anything in the field that can beat it and it has an outstanding chance, I can't say that for Harper Valley. It beat Franchoek and that result has given the horse its price but that was quite a shock result and the 1st time blinkers may have provided a miracle as one good run does not make it an extra special horse, it had not shown much before that race. Act Sirius won here on the flat and then won here 25 days ago on soft over this distance, looking like it had found some improvement from its hurdles debut. The trainer sends 3 horses but Richard Johnson rides this one. Trainer is +£31.16 for January, both lennon and Tidal Bay losing yesterday but does not put me off. It ran on strongly last time out and turned over its odds on stablemate and looks a huge each way bet at 22-1.

:cow 2nd :cow 1st and 2nd in here, 1st and 2nd in Kempton thread for Russ and PL Crewman, cracking run from both horses, the 9-1 looks nice now as Dundock won at 13-2 and The Joker had SP of 5-1.

:cow I take back everything I've said about Richard Johnson, what a fcuking ride, horse was 4th and beaten, flew home at the end and lands a nice 22-1 touch, icing on the cake was Harper Valley unplaced. It's taken a while for me to find the winners but it's been worth the wait. :dude

I'll be starting a new flat specialist thread next flat season, I had certain flat horses to follow (such as Peeping Fawn) but did not include the chart of horses to follow. My original jumps thread I started this season had too many bets, bets in races I shouldn't bet in and was chasing losses and backing at odds on, just a lack of discipline really which resulted in loss of money. Started a new jumps thread and spent hours going through form and now I'm getting the benefits from doing so. That is down to people on here like Russ, Bowles and Billyhills who saw the error of my ways. One last one I fancy for today: Astarador 3.30 Musselburgh Was 7th on its comeback but had been off with injury and definitely needed a run. From the same yard as Act Sirius which won earlier and also has Richard Johnson on board. Looks to me like the best horse in the race, look at the form - 3rd to Silverburn last year in a Grade 1 (that won yesterday), 2nd to Amaretto Rose in a Grade 2 on last run of last year and then 7th on comeback to Five Dream which went out and won again recently. Along The Nile may be improving but only has form at class 4 and class 3 level, Folk Tune has been placed in class 3 races but looked one paced. Astarador likes soft ground and it looks quite cut up now at Musselburgh which should suit it. Available at 7-2 and that may look quite big after the race.

Was just about to comment in your winter ew value thread as I noticed you also had Act Sirius, definite ew value if you don't really rate Harper Valley. :ok Great minds think alike and all that. :)

Re: Musselburgh 03/02/08 I'm also on Devil Tish's horse in the 4.30, this lad gets good info, none of this bloke in the pub reckons it has half a chance stuff, he gave us an ew shot yesterday that ran a blinder and placed at double figures so I'm on this one each way too. If it wins Bigs is flying me and DT to Vegas with his double winnings. :lol

Re: Musselburgh 03/02/08 Mowgli, back in form:clap:nana:clap Absolutely superb today mate, winners at all sorts of prices. Proves yet again.....look for those big priced EW animals, the success you have with these is unreal. Really pleased for you mate (and say thanks to Donna too for her selections:lol). Really funny thing happened to me today....Jacqui was sat with me whilst I was checking out the 1.50 at Kempton. She said Sir Loin will win, I said 'yeah, whatever. I'm backing Kempsey'. What won? Yep, Sir Loin with Kempsey 2nd. I haven't heard the last of it yet!
