The trap draw is normally the fastest dogs in 5 and 6 and the slowest dogs in 1 ans 2. But I have seen cases in latter years where the dog in ' red' is as short as 5-4 and gone beyond recall by the second bend. Not that this guarantees a win, but what's the point of a handicap with the the 'fastest dog' getting at least a 4 metre start on his rivals?
