Re: Tennis 22nd - 28th A few outrights for me: Andy Murray to win St Petersburg Open - 5.50 @ Betfred (E/W - 1/4 1st 2) Murray was in superb form in the Madrid masters and played out arguably the best match of the tournament with Rafael Nadal. Nadal was fierce in the match and hardly let Murray rest, returning everything the Scot threw at him. He battled well, but in the end the Spaniard played at that higher level for more of the match and run out winner in a tight 2 setter. The top 3 are not at this tournam, ent so it is a good chance for Murray to stamp his authority on the tournament and push his ranking higher. Before this match (Murray vs Nadal), Murray was easily taking apart respected and tough opponents in Stepanek and Chela, only conceding 9 games (avg of 2.25 a set) in the 4 sets played against them. If he can keep up this form and carry through the amazing tennis he was showing againt Rafael Nadal then, because he is he 2nd seed, he will not face no one of that sort of quality until a possible Quarter final meeting with Tursunov or possible Semi Final round meeting with Ancic. These are matches which Murray has show he can win ands hopefully he will continue to show the form he has done in recent weeks. Ernest Gulbis to win the St Petersburg Open - 41.00 @ Bet365 (E/W - 1/4 1st 2) Very overpriced in my opinion. This guy has started to grow in stature since he first showed signs of promise earlier in the year. His breakthrough tournament was at the US Open, where he progressed far for his age and expierience, knocking out Robredo in straight sets and taking a set off the inspired Moya who played quality in the round of 16. He is very indifferent (last 2 tournaments - 1st round at Moscow and winner in Mons), but at 40/1, he can definatly show continue his great hard court season and progress far.

Re: Tennis 22nd - 28th I'm not really a fan of outrights but those odds on Skybet for Gasquet are an absolute joke. He's the defending champion, probably the most talented player in the draw, top seed Roddick has been injured lately, Haas has been struggling with a shoulder problem, Ljubicic missed a few weeks training with kidney stones and has been utterly shit since. He's got a favourable draw and has to be the bet at that price. He had a setback in Madrid last week but before that was in superb form winning the title in Mumbai and finishing runner-up in Tokyo. I'd say he'll certainly trade for less than that on betfair once the market settles down. RICHARD GASQUET - Lyon Outright 5pts ew. -7/1 at Skybet

Re: Tennis 22nd - 28th Hi guys, following picks for today: ATP TOUR, ST. PETERSBURG KOHLSCHREIBER TO D KOROLEV @ 1.79 at betfair ATP TOUR, LYON ROBREDO TO D GICQUEL @ 1.5 at pinnacle Kohlschreiber is very solid and is in good form. Korolev who might be young Marat Safin is still very erratic. The H2H is 1:0 with Kohlschreiber winning in Moscow last year on similar surface 6:3 6:2. Robredo is in great form since US Open with 9-3 record including 1 title and 1 final. Gicquel has been unable to reproduce his 2006 form. The H2H is 1:0 with Robredo winning in New Haven two months ago 6:4 6:4.

Re: Tennis 22nd - 28th Olivier Rochus v Michael Llodra Rochus leads the head to head 5-1 including 3 wins on carpet, the surface here in Lyon, and generally goes well against left-handers. (5-1 this year) he also matches up well against serve/volleyers mainly because he can take the ball early (he's 5 foot 5, he has no choice) and can hit passing shots off both wings. He's had wins over the likes of Mahut, Guccione and Navarro-Pastor this year all of whom play a smilar style of game to llodra. Llodra retired injured in the first set of a challenger tournament last week so his physical condition is more than questionable here. Rochus - 10/10- 1.7 Interwetten (the best price with a 1-ball book which is a better bet than the 1.75 on betfair given the chance that Llodra may retire)

Re: Tennis 22nd - 28th Robby Ginepri v Jarkko Nieminen Nieminen in the past has generally been a pretty reliable player in that would play to his ranking. ie he'd dispose of guys you'd expect him to beat but rarely threaten those ranked above him. The past couple of months have seen a serious dip in form however. He had a good win over Robredo in early August but hasn't had a win over a top 50 opponent since. This run included losses to guys you'd expect him to beat such as Isner, Pashanski, Santoro and Koubek. Ginepri on the other hand has been showing glimpses of good form recently beating Melzer last week before giving Federer a run for his money in 2 tight sets. His confidence should be up from that performance and this allied with his good record over left handers (8-2 indoors discounting 2 defeats to Nadal) and Jarkko's poor form makes the American an attractive underdog here. Robby Ginepri - 10/10 - 2.16 - betfair

Good call on Warwrinka :ok, I was watching the ending of the 1st set and he was playing some amazing tennis, which made Nalbandian look as if he was not playing to well. Re: Tennis 22nd - 28th Marcos Baghdatis vs Augustin Calleri Calleri blows hot and cold, but in his match against Ferrer, he was definatly hot. On match point he destroyed a Ferrer 2nd serve down the line for a straight winner and was showing some quality signs, hopefully, he can polay that well again today against Marcos. I say hopefully because he is notoriously inconsistent (US Open - Stunning win 2nd round vs Hewitt, then 3rd Round, tame loss to Moanco). Baghdatis on the other hand has started trying to grind out results, but has not looked as though he is currently causing a great threat to anyone on tour since Wimbledon - which his current mid ranking of 24 reflects. H2H is 0-0 My Pick - Calleri to beat Baghdatis - 2.60 - Betfair Wawrinka vs Berdych Other case of someone performing well in the last round and seeing if they can carry it through, Wawrinka's serve and backhand looked to be sweet and If he playsanywhere like he did yesterday, he will be in with a shout of taking the match. Berdych is no mug though and I see this being a tough battle which might go all 3 sets, but with the value on offer for Wawrinka, I cannot refuse, especially when he is playing on home soil and impressing. H2H - 1:1 - (Wawrinka on Clay and Berdych on Carpet) My Pick - Wawrinka to beat Berdych - 2.16 @ Betfair No time, just quickly other good value picks: Koubek over Kiefer - 3.00 Nieminen over Canas - 2.82 Pasek over Bartoli - 2.30

ReasoningAgustin Calleri aint the most consistent player out there but he's power hitting play is very dangerous when it works as he demonstrated it vs Ferrer. Baghdatis havent been in too good shape last couple of months and its mostly been his serve that has failed him and he has also shown before weakness against players similar to Calleri.

Re: Tennis 22nd - 28th Jo-Wilfried Tsonga over Olivier Rochus - 1.50 @ Unibet I still dont get it how Rochus managed to win the match over Fish despite being aced 458340534+64 times but he shouldnt feel that lucky today as he will have much harder to win points on the return today. Julien Benneteau over Sebastian Grosjean - 2.21 @ Pinnacle Sebastian Grosjean made like a million UE and served around 38% 1st serves and lost first set before Santoro pulled a muscle and got injured and couldnt compete 100%. If Grosjean repeats his performance from yesterday anything over 2.00 on Bennetau is worth a shot. Ivan Ljubicic - Alejandro Falla - Over 23 Games - 1.92 @ Pinnacle 2 good serve players but also 2 poor return players and if some one doesnt make a huge mistake in any of the games this should be over.

A few outrights for me: Andy Murray to win St Petersburg Open - 5.50 @ Betfred (E/W - 1/4 1st 2) :clap Murray was in superb form in the Madrid masters and played out arguably the best match of the tournament with Rafael Nadal. Ernest Gulbis to win the St Petersburg Open - 41.00 @ Bet365 (E/W - 1/4 1st 2) :sad Very overpriced in my opinion.
Could so easily have been a Murray vs Gulbis final, just unlucky that Gulbis couldnt keep up his impressive service which saw him lose something like 4 points on it in the 1st two rounds :\ and... Murray is up to 11th in the ATP race, only 3 points behind Haas in 8th! :clap
