Re: Euro 2008 Qualifiers (Oct 13) Id disagree mate, infact Serbia look the bet of the weekend to me, Serbia will know they go to Azerbaijan on wednesday then Kazahkstan at home before the final game at home to Poland ( I think the poles are in a false position in this section ) gamesthat will see them finish in the top 2 - Portugal play Finland in the final game after games against Armenia, Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan, that favours the Serbs. Serbia away @ 1.45 is value IMO Portugal away to Azerbaijan @ 1.19 for me is also a stick-on, for reasons above, Portugal and Serbia will occupy the 2 top slots in this section. like the look of Spain @ 2.62 to win in Denmark, fair to say Denmark wont be qualifying, that likely rules out that extra 10% players find when they really need a result, this game played in the smaller arena in Aarhus due to punishment given to the Danish F.A - Spain play sweden after this in the Bernabeu in Madrid and can pip the Swedes in this section starting by winning on Saturday. Turkey and Greece @ 1.36 for either should be formalities, this section another that is heating up with Turkey and Greece playing on Wednesday, Greece should blow Bosnia away at home and Turkey have the short trip to bottom of the section Moldova.

Re: Euro 2008 Qualifiers (Oct 13) Wales look a big price for me this weekend. Cyprus have had their best qualifying campaign to date and are no longer the lower minnows in world football. However the Slovaks went there before San Marino and beat them 3-1 showing that they remain vunerable at the back. Wales were banging in the goals against the Slovaks in the last game and could do the same against the Cypriots. 3-2 to the Wales!

Re: Euro 2008 Qualifiers (Oct 13) I'm Scottish, but I have to admit that 4/1 on Ukraine to win is very generous. Scotland may be top of the group, but in the first game Scotland hardly strung two passes together and there's no question that Ukraine have the stronger squad. I can't quite bring myself to put money on, but those are good odds. Also and this might seem a strange pick, 8/1 for the draw in the Italy/Georgia game is pretty generous. Italy are capable of having the odd draw against weaker sides, even at home (as evidenced by the draw against Lithuania). I don't think it will happen in all honesty, but I might put a small stake on given the odds.

Re: Euro 2008 Qualifiers (Oct 13) I would tend to agree, this is traditional nose-dive time up here when everything is going well, Paul Hartley and Gary Caldwell now out after the weekend and Darren Fletcher is suspended. That said, read Dnipro coach's take on the game, he says Ukraine players, particularly his ( theres 5 in the team ) are dead on their feet as they have a small squad and play in too many tournaments, he also reckons Ukraine want this qualifying section finished as soon as possible as they have no chance of qualifying - Voronin has apparently patched up his differences with Oleg Blokhin and gets another chance though this dnipro guy says Voronin has no ambition for international football, which is surprising Ukrainians strike me as a proud nation. def unders for me - pos draw/scotland for interest, going into glasgow on saturday for a piss-up, always a good atmosphere.

Serbia away @ 1.45 is value IMO
2 or 3 goals are much better. Nemanja Vidic is injured and he won't play. If Nemanja Vidic was in team, I would recommend under 2,5 @1.75. But, He is injured and he won't play. Mladen Krstajic (injured) and Ivica Dragutinovic (suspended), too. So, I recommend 2 or 3 goals @2.00 Sportingbet 6/10

Re: Euro 2008 Qualifiers (Oct 13) Very tempted to lay England @ 1.1 with Betfair to possibly turn that in to the potential of good profits when the odds go up in-play. I doubt England will score in the opening 20 minutes and that may well see odds creep up to 1.2 or so... providing the possibility of doubling original stakes. What does anyone else think?

fair enough call bud, as much as I think vidic is one of the best defenders in world football I think most of the football will be played at the other end of the park, Id be happier my money is on any serb win @ 1.45 Also think Croatia @ 1.45 is nailed on, Israel are decent enough but never one of the contenders in this section, Croatia have the game at Wembley still to come and 3 points ahead of England, so even defeat in the last game less than 2-0 sees them section winners if they win until then. .

what about draw/England @ 5/1 ladbrokes ? Estonia aint a luxembourg etc.. ( with all due respect ) and will stick everyone behind the ball, the crowd will no doubt get on their back and maybe Estonia can hold till halftime before they are swept away. Andorra frustrated England in the same way away, and are a worse team than Estonia.

Re: Euro 2008 Qualifiers (Oct 13) I see a great value on Ireland. Rep. of Ireland is a very strong home team, and not many teams have taken points at Ireland. Germany without Klose, Borowski, Schneider and Hilbert is very weakened, so having Ireland at these odds is just too generous IMO.

Re: Euro 2008 Qualifiers (Oct 13) Tall_bastard, Ireland scraped by Slovakia and Wales 1-0 in the two biggest qualifiers to date. Germany, despite the players they are missing will be able to put out a better side than a fading Wales team or a weak Slovak team. IMO we don't have what it takes (hard to write that) to win this game as much as I'd like - I'm going. My bet is for a 1-1 draw. Germany to score first and then a spirited fight back and possibly scrap a equaliser. Similiar to the game in Japan during the last World Cup. I haven't seem Ireland play in a well over a year so I'm far from an expert.

Re: Euro 2008 Qualifiers (Oct 13) In all honesty its not a must win game for us, we just cannot lose. If we draw, it will just mean we would have to beat Georgia then Italy. But, we are rightly favourites. You don't beat the 2nd best team in Europe twice (maybe even the best on their day??) just by luck and our results at home have been spectacular for a long time. The atmosphere will stun the Ukranians as they will realise what its like to play in front of 50'000 patriots going nuts basically lol. Scotland 1-0 or 2-1 for me but im not betting, going to it will put me through enough pain as we never do things the easy way!!

To be honest, I think he Danish players disagree, if they win against Spain then they're only two points below the qualification line with a game in hand, so wouldn't rule the extra 10 % off :) Might still be a decent bet though.

Re: Euro 2008 Qualifiers (Oct 13) Romania - Holland I think both teams will be satisfied with one point, and they won't risk to lose. The odds for the draw have already started to go down. Right now they are about 2.90 - 3.00. I think a medium bet is a good choice. Any more thoughts about this game?

Wow you have really been away. Unfortunately i had to watch the boys play and they are awful. Staunton!!! You forget how we play our games. We score first, defend and let in a disappointing late goal. Always the way. So 1-1 also looks about a good score prediction to me. We were bad against Wales at Croker and not much better against the Slovaks. I remember the game in Slovakia when they scored that last minute goal they ran to pick up the ball from the net and play to win, disappointed with having only drawn with Ireland. That shows their opinion of our team. The Welsh showed us how to deal with Slovakia. In fact now that i think of this as i write maybe i'll change that prediction to 2-1 to Germany. We score first and let in twice in the second half instead of our usual once. The Ireland/Germany half time/full time odds top 28/1 with the bookies.

Like Croatia at 1.45..could be worth doubling up with the Greeks who have everything to play for against and all but out of it Bosnia..

Re: Euro 2008 Qualifiers (Oct 13) England - Estonia I can only see the odds decreasing here so I think I should get on this one now before the line changes and ultimatly, there is no value anymore. This is another must win game here for England and I think that there is little doubt that they will win this game. It's just a case of how much and I for one would be pretty surprised if the scoreline is not at least 3-0. The form England have shown in their last two Internationals has been very positive indeed with easy wins over much better opposition than this Estonia side having beaten Israel 3-0 and Russia by the same margin. If England can get the balls down in the wide area's where Wright-Phillips has certainly impressed recently and also with Joe Cole on the left, these should give Estonia plenty of trouble and with Rooney & Owen likely to be leading the line, there will be some goals in this side that’s for sure. The middle of the park should also have some creativity about it aswell with Gerrard and either Barry or Lamps partnering him there is goals there aswell. Of course this is only a possible England side with potential changes that could be made to the starting eleven, mainly due to possible suspensions against Russia, England may look to reduce the risk of this by making 2-3 changes. One player who is defiently out is John Terry, but I don't for see this being any problem due to Estonia being highly un-likely to get anywhere near Englands goal for the vast periods of this game. They have really struggled to score goals and they shouldn't be getting to much of a look in at Wembley on Saturday either. Overall, there is no doubting that England will win this game, I also expect the margin to be at least 3-0 so this looks a solid bet to me at ok odds, Good Luck! Pick: England(-2.75AH)@Gamebookers 1.95 7/10

I agree about the posibility of the draw but don't agree with your reason. A draw for Romania would be the same thing like a defeat because we would have to at least draw away in Bulgaria to qualify, ofcourse assuming that Bulgaria and Romania would win all the games except the one between them. Romania is not going to play for the draw, that's for sure. The problem is we miss some important players, Radoi, Cocis, Contra. Holland also misses vand der Saar, Kuyt, van Persie, so i just cannot predict the outcome. No bet for me.

Re: Euro 2008 Qualifiers (Oct 13) See you all at Hampden tomorrow fellow Scots. McFadden and 2-1 (40/1 at Paddy Power) with a refund if the team winning at HT doesn't win the match. I think Portugal are nailed on to win as are Turkey, but probably not much value. I think Croatia are due a slip up soon as they have been too good so far. Israel X2 should be good value.
