Re: International Friendlies ( 30 May - 3 June 2007 )

Austria @ 2.4 look very tasty against a weakened Scottish side.
Hi there, is Austria playing with full strength tonight ? And which important players are missing for Scotland ?

Re: International Friendlies ( 30 May - 3 June 2007 ) I can't agree, I still think this is a decent opponent McGregor, Alexander, Weir, McManus, Naysmith, Hartley, Fletcher, Ferguson, McCulloch, Boyd, O'Connor. + With other subs possibly coming on like Hutton etc.

Very telling. Looks like Austria is worth a small play today.

Re: International Friendlies ( 30 May - 3 June 2007 ) I can see this either being a narrow win for Austria (they will be motivated, they are playing on home ground, and are promising a good play for the fans). I reckon that Austrians have a bad run the quality is certainly on Scottish side, but Scots arent that much stronger than Austria. Especially nicht with a weakened team. I think that Austria win today more luckily than skillfully with 1:0. Facit: Score Prediction Austria - Scotland 1:0

Re: International Friendlies ( 30 May - 3 June 2007 ) Japan's match is against Montenegro and not Serbia and Montenegro. The two countries play separately now. Serbia is playing in the Euro qualifiers. I think I'll be on Japan in this match although I haven't researched the match yet. Also think USA will beat China. Does any one have any opinions about Venezuela playing Canada?

Re: International Friendlies ( 30 May - 3 June 2007 ) After seeing the state of Austria last night, a good Paraguay team look good odds at 3.00! Austria just have nothing to offer going forward, play a high line, south american teams will kill them with this space as they are usually VERY quick

Re: International Friendlies ( 30 May - 3 June 2007 ) Swiss are co-host of Euro2008 so they don't have to bother with Qualif. games. As far as I know from their official website there are no frssh injuries in the team. However, I am still not sure whether Swiss team could complere successfully with full-strenght Argentina which is preapareing for an important Tournament Copa America at the moment. Carlos Tevez and Lionel Messi are back in the Argentina squad to face Switzerland. Argentina squad: Goalkeepers: Roberto Abbondanzieri (Getafe CF), Leonardo Franco (Club Atlético de Madrid). Defenders: Roberto Ayala (Valencia CF), Gabriel Milito (Real Zaragoza), Nicolas Burdisso (FC Internazionale Milano), Gabriel Heinze (Manchester United FC), Javier Pinola (1. FC Nürnberg). Midfielders: Pablo Aimar (Real Zaragoza), Esteban Cambiasso (FC Internazionale Milano), Javier Zanetti (FC Internazionale Milano), Fernando Gago (Real Madrid CF), Lucho González (FC Porto), Jonas Gutierrez (RCD Mallorca), Javier Mascherano (Liverpool FC), Ezequiel Garay (Real Racing Club Santander). Forwards: Carlos Tévez (West Ham United FC), Diego Milito (Real Zaragoza), Hernán Crespo (FC Internazionale Milano), Javier Saviola (FC Barcelona), Lionel Messi (FC Barcelona). Switzerland squad: Goalkeepers: Diego Benaglio (CD Nacional), Fabio Coltorti (Grasshopper-Club), Pascal Zuberbühler (Neuchâtel Xamax FC). Defenders: Valon Behrami (S.S. Lazio), Philipp Degen (BV Borussia Dortmund), Johan Djourou (Arsenal FC), Ludovic Magnin (VfB Stuttgart), Patrick Müller (Olympique Lyonnais), Philippe Senderos (Arsenal FC), Christoph Spycher (Eintracht Frankfurt). Midfielders: Tranquillo Barnetta (Bayer 04 Leverkusen), Ricardo Cabanas (1. FC Köln), Benjamin Huggel (Eintracht Frankfurt), Johan Vonlanthen (FC Salzburg), Raphael Wicky (Hamburger SV), Hakan Yakin (BSC Young Boys). Forwards: Daniel Gygax (FC Metz), Gökhan Inler (FC Zürich), Xavier Margairaz (FC Zürich), Marco Streller (VfB Stuttgart).

Re: International Friendlies ( 30 May - 3 June 2007 ) Japan hosting Montenegro in the first game of this years Kirin Cup in Japan, where else. So second game ever for Montenegro in their history and for these boys together aswell, although some of them already played with eachother or is still playing in their respective clubs - like two talents from Red Star - Burzanovic and Purovic from which we espect the most in Japan, since Vucinic and Vukcevic are absent - and they are alongside Burzanovic our best players right now. And then also a player with some experience in Europe and in S&M nt – Boskovic, is missing aswell. (Former Red Star, PSG and currently Rapid Wiena). But for most of other players in our team chance to play with Japan and Colombia is one of a kind. Plenty of players in the squad are from Montenegrin league - which is far from some high level, although in first eleven we shouldn’t see many of them – probably 2 or 3 max. (Or at least in this first game). Also worth mentioning is that majority of them haven’t played in front of 50.000 ppl never in their lives. Then there is this issue about time zone and long flight. Usually players should have till about 10 days to adobt to the new time zone, but these guys will have only 3 days and are already using this as an escuse. Plus the season is coming to an end (or is finished) and many of them are tired like they said. I really doubt we can expect some good result from these two games with such rivals as Japan and Colombia. Montenegro can be European middle class team in some future years but not yet imo. They lack EXPERIENCE and It’s not a secret that Montenegrin national team will struggle in every away game - which is typical for our mentality. At home they are full of confidence in front of frenetic crowd and can play above their capabilities but away it will be different story I’m afraid. The way I see it Montenegro will loose both games and I just hope they won’t get trashed. With Japan crucial will be first 10-20mins, in which I expect Japan to score one or more goals before we stabilise a bit and organize our defence and get used to the whole thing. Definetely I’m suggesting Japan to win. Coach Filipovic said they won’t change tactics from the first match with HUN and that they will play an open game. That’s too brave imo. He should get back from clowds cause in the end Montenegro is still green and unprepared for these kind of games, thousands of miles away from home… I see Japan winning this one rather easy … Odds are more then fair, infact I had a fear we should see something like 1.35 on HW. Although I must say that the current strength of Japan is a bit of an enigma for me, but despite all I think they should win this with a rival without experience abroad, playing their second game ever thousands of miles away from home in diffferent time zone and without 3 very important players. Naaaah, I’ll eat my socks if MN stays unbeatan tomorrow. Suggest HW and -1AH, 10bet @1.97 with high stakes, odds are very good imo although slashed by somewhat from yesterday.

Re: International Friendlies ( 30 May - 3 June 2007 ) mexico have they full squad as they are preparing for the copa america. Iran have announced their squad for Saturday’s friendly game with Mexico and it doesn't include big guns such as Mehdi Mahdavikia, Ali Karimi, Vahid Hashemian and Andranik Teymourian. this is why are odds are soo low on mexico the players that are missing are iran best players.

Reasoning Venezuela has more time together as a team with the amount of games they played together is quite a lot. On the other hand, Canada is not a bad team with few players from the worlds top league like EPL. However, todays team will mostly be filled with youngster based on the info that I read on the net. Paul Stalteri will captain the Canadian team. His 53 caps are more than 10 of his teammates combined. Moreover, news have it that the Canadian have very limited time to prepare for this game and their head coach wouldn't be taking charge of the team due to taking responsibility with Canadian Youth Squad. Recent friendlies played by Venezuela : 26.05.2007 Friendly Venezuela - Honduras 2:1 29.03.2007 Friendly Venezuela - New Zealand 5:0 08.02.2007 Friendly Venezuela - Chile 0:1 14.01.2007 Friendly Venezuela - Sweden 2:0 While Canada only played Jamaica so far this year which they won 3 - 0. I think today Venezuela should at least win by 1 goal against an inexperienced Canadian team.

Reasoning South Korea will host Netherland today and I think the guest is in real chance to win this clash. South Korea squads is not in full strength while the Dutch bring a strong squad to this clash. On paper, Netherland should win this clash. However, being a friendly game, motivation could be lacking and players might not give their 100% to this match. This is understandable since they want to avoid any unecessary injuries in a game of no importance. Nevertheless, Korean form when playing on home soil is not too impressive and with a weakened squad I really can't see them taking anything out of this match than a draw. The handicap is quite fair in my oppinion, if the dutch were to draw we only lose half stake. Netherlands squad Goalkeepers: Maarten Stekelenburg (AFC Ajax), Henk Timmer (Feyenoord). Defenders: Wilfred Bouma (Aston Villa FC), Giovanni van Bronckhorst (FC Barcelona), Tim de Cler (AZ Alkmaar), Johnny Heitinga (AFC Ajax), Kew Jaliens (AZ Alkmaar), Joris Mathijsen (Hamburger SV), Mario Melchiot (Stade Rennais FC). Midfielders: Nigel de Jong (Hamburger SV), Denny Landzaat (Wigan Athletic FC), Wesley Sneijder (AFC Ajax), Rafael van der Vaart (Hamburger SV), Demy de Zeeuw (AZ Alkmaar). Forwards: Romeo Castelen (Feyenoord), Klaas Jan Huntelaar (AFC Ajax), Danny Koevermans (AZ Alkmaar), Dirk Kuyt (Liverpool FC), Andwele Slory (SC Excelsior), Jan Vennegoor of Hesselink (Celtic FC). S.Korean squad GK - Kim Yong-Dae (Seongnam), Lee Woon-Jae (Suwon) DF - Kim Chi-Gon (Seoul), Kang Min-Soo, Kim Jin-Kyu, Kim Chi-Woo (all Chunnam), Kim Sang-Sik (Seongnam), Song Chong-Gug (Suwon), Kim Dong-Jin (Zenit), Oh Beom-Seok (Pohang) MF - Kim Doo-Hyeon, Son Dae-Ho (all Seongnam), Kim Nam-Il (Suwon), Kim Jung-Woo (Nagoya), Lee Ho (Zenit) FW - Cho Jae-Jin (Shimizu), Lee Dong-Gook (Middlesbrough), Lee Chun-Soo, Woo Sung-Yong (all Ulsan), Yeom Ki-Hoon (Jeonbuk), Choi Sung-Kuk (Seongnam), Lee Geun-Ho (Daegu) Probable XI --------------Lee WoonJae----------------- K. Sport Football (Internationals)
Event Australia vs Uruguay
Selection Uruguay -0 (Asian Handicap)
Strength 8/10
Date 02/06/2007
Bookmaker/Price Pinnacle Sports @ 1.93 (Back)
Reasoning Australia will come in to this game without a lot of its 2006 impressive world cup members today. They have decent replacement however it is not in the same calibre. Australia expected to line-up like this : ------------------Brad Jones--------------------- Emerton---Lucas Neill---Kisnorbo---Thwaite Valeri-----Wilkshire-----Sterjovski-----Culina ---------------------Holman----------------------- -------------------McDonald---------------------- The back line looks decent but Kisnorbo and Thwaite are a relatively inexperienced international players and when faced up against the like of Recoba and Forlan, they could struggle here. The midfield section looks very strong with 3 of Australian stars featuring there and up and coming stars Valeri in the side. The attack doesn't look that bad either with Holman from NEC plays behind McDonald from Celtic. Last meeting between the two resulted in Australia qualification to the world cup at the expense of Uruguay. However, the team that came for this match is way stronger than what it was back then. Uruguay Squad Goalkeepers: Fabian Carini (Inter Milan), Sebastian Viera (Villarreal) Defenders: Andres Scotti (Argentinos Juniors), Diego Lugano (Fenerbahce), Dario Rodriguez (Schalke 04), Mauricio Victorino (Veracruz), Carlos Diogo (Real Zaragoza) Jorge Fucile (Porto), Gaston Filgueiras (Arsenal, Argentina) Midfielders: Pablo Garcia (Celta Vigo), Diego Perez (Monaco), Guillermo Giacomazzi (Palermo), Cristian Rodriguez (Paris St Germain), Fabian Canobbio (Celta Vigo), Alvaro Recoba (Inter Milan) Forwards: Diego Forlan (Villarreal), Sebastian Abreu (San Luis), Fabian Estoyanoff (Deportivo Coruna), Gonzalo Vargas (Monaco), Vicente Sanchez (Toluca) As we can see, Uruguay boasts a lot of dangerous players in attack like Forlan, Estoyanoff, Recoba and few others. I have no doubt that if the Australian boys give all their 100% they could match Uruguayan very well. However, a fair result I see for this match is a draw to be honest. But if I have to pick a winner, Uruguay would be the one here. They are the team with much more creativity upfront and experienced looking line-ups that certainly will cause few headache to Australian inexperienced players.
