Re: NBL Basketball - Round 16 (Jan. 1st - 7th) Tigers are a bad team to bet on for the Under or Over 10.5 margin as they have been creating big leads recently in their games and then taking the foot off the pedal and many times going Under 10.5. Realistically they should be winning by Over 10.5 when 20+ points in front late in a game, but for some reason they lose their impetus and teams get them to Under 10.5, which makes it hard for us guys who are trying to snare either bet. So I will not be backing them for either any more as there is too much risk with them. Back Tigers Over 10.5 and they relax and go Under, back them Under and they have a crack and go Over. :dude

Agreed Beejayville, there are a number of teams doing this in recent times. Brisbane is another main offender of doing this. You know they are good enough to win by 20 or even 30, but they get into the mindset of "Yeah, we have this game won" so they just try different things and rest players. Frustrating but thats the risk you take

Re: NBL Basketball - Round 16 (Jan. 1st - 7th) Took one bet tonight reading everything here and it was the over in the Taipans game. What a great rush that game was to get into OT. Figured it was done after the Taipans hit a 3 with 6 seconds left but Breakers respond with a 3 to send it to OT at the end. Great game to follow while drinking with money on lol A ton of lows and highs on that over

Yeah had 2 weeks of highs in the NBL then this last week has been just can't buy a win. Was nice to get lucky finally. Yup the city of all cities, great place to be a full time degenerate which I've become in the 6 years living here. You'll have to get back here this year, if so let me know we can hit a table or two and tear it up.

Re: NBL Basketball - Round 16 (Jan. 1st - 7th) Perth Wildcats 101 Rogers 20, Crawford 18 West Sydney Razorbacks 81 Rush 18, Harvey 14 The Wildcats (17-7) dominated the Pigs (2-21) throughout the game, until late in the 4th when a surge of points bought the Pig within 6, before the Wildcats took control Brisbane Bullets 131 Gibson 25, Bradtke 20 Singapore Slingers 116 Chandler 31, Helms 29 The Bullets were in command the entire game, dominating the Slingers who fall to 8-14, while the Bullets stay in 1st place with 19-5 Cairns Taipans 112 New Zealand Breakers 106 The Breakers (7-16) trailed from the 2nd quarter and were looking down and out until late in the 4th they came back, shooting a 3-pt with seconds left to force OT, but the Taipans clinched it moving to 13-11

Re: NBL Basketball - Round 16 (Jan. 1st - 7th) Sadly this is the same crap I go through betting on the NBA each year. Every day I question myself why I keep betting on it. But the great thing about the NBL is there is a bad week sometimes but more often it plays out how you want it. Keep your head up ads, if we could win every bet there would be no sportsbooks and as long as your ahead at the end of it all your ahead of the game my friend. Always look forward to your writeups and computer projections.

In all seriousness this whole year has been a fantastic success getting good winners nearly every night. Its been the opposite this week, but as you said, all the games this week panned out how i predicted they would go, just the results werent right (if that makes sense haha)

Re: NBL Basketball - Round 16 (Jan. 1st - 7th)

So to summarise for you all, i like the following tonight: Cairns Over 10.5 at $2.00 – (7/10) :$

Total Points Over 198.5 at $1.90 – (6/10) :clap Melbourne Over 10.5 at $1.90 – (5/10) :$

Total Points Under 204.5 at $1.90 – (5/10) :$ Sydney Over 10.5 at $2.35 :$

Total Points Under 198.5 :clap Perth -17.5 at $2.10 – (2/10) :clap

Double - Perth O10.5/Brisbane O10.5 at $1.96 – (7/10) :clap

Total Points Under 203.5 at $1.90 – (5/10) :clap Brisbane -18.5 at $2.10 – (3/10) :$

Double - Perth O10.5/Brisbane O10.5 at $1.96 – (7/10) :clap

Total Points Under 209.5 at $1.90 :$
If you consider it a bad night Ads then if all bad nights were like this then it wouldn't be bad. Without adding it all up, I would say you would be around square, or slight loss, slight win. You have made amazing profits in here in recent months and you still managed 6 winning bets in 12 tonight, thats 50% strike rate and not to be sneezed at. So lets get some back tomorrow night :ok Can't win em all son, but at least you didn't lose them all. Least you got some back, the A League has raped and pillaged me this weekend :loon

Re: NBL Basketball - Round 16 (Jan. 1st - 7th) Just look at this way, sportsbetting can be like poker. Sometimes your holding AA and someone gets lucky on you and beats you. You just beat their ass next hand because they can't get lucky all the time. Thanks for all the time you spend on your writeups and computer projections. I gotta get my ass posting again here for college basketball lol

Re: NBL Basketball - Round 16 (Jan. 1st - 7th) Yeah i guess your right Beejay, but im just looking through it now and ill tell you why im not impressed tonight. These are the ones i got wrong: Cairns Over 10.5 - Cairns lead by 13 at half time against a New Zealand team who had lost their last 7 matches and won only 1 away game for the year. How they forced this to overtime i will never know, but thank god Cairns won by 6 Melbourne O10.5 & U198.5 - Tigers have not lost to Adelaide at home since Feb 2002 and won their past 9 games in a row agaisnt Adelaide. Yet Adelaide come out and win by about 20. What the hell??? Sydney O10.5 - Sydney had a 10 point buffer for most of the night leading by a whopping 16 at qtr time, 11 at half time, then only to see Wollongong hit the front with 4 minutes left. Sydney won by 5 in the end but it should of been so much more, if you had watched the match on tv you will understand what i mean... Brisbane Line & Total - The fact the Slingers (who have won 1 of 9 away games) travelled 10+ hours to get to Brisbane who are the best home side in the league and who concede only 91 points on average at home, how they put 116 points against the leagues best team and defence has got me stuffed. It was Singapores third game in 5 days and the amount of kilometeres they have travlled to get here tonight, they played like they had been on a month long break! Thats why im frustrated Beejayville, i broke even financially which is good but it should of been so much better. Bring on next week!!! :loon

Ads your doing a great job with the computer predictions mate, i made 13points based on your predictions, cheers if we could get the winners right everynight it would called investment banking instead if sports betting, thats how i think of it i mainly bet on soccer and for the past week there have been so many dodgy fu*ked up unpredictable underdog winners its unbelievable. in the longrun you know your gonna be hammering the bookies so tonight is just a hiccup!look forward to next the next round:clap :clap

Well said Air :ok I am starting to think Soccer betting is not the way to go, too many unpredictable results...I have won quite a few dollars off Ads tips on the basketball, and very minimal upsets win/loss wise, only occasional. The margins are sometimes surprising, but as you said, if Ads got it right all the time it wouldn't be sports betting. I havnt had a winning soccer bet this year and all the bets I have had were after some research, and the teams I backed had all things in their favour and still they were schaisenhausen!

Re: NBL Basketball - Round 16 (Jan. 1st - 7th) Townsville vs New Zealand Final match to what has been a tough round to pick winners. However this match looks like having only one winner and thats the Townsville Crocodiles. You only need to glance at the stats to understand why, at home Townsville have won 10 of 11 games while on the road the Breakers have won only 1 of 12, their only road win coming back against what was a lowly Adelaide outfit back at the start of November. New Zealand have always been a shocking travelling team ever since they joined the NBL and have only ever won one match against Townsville at this venue. OVerall Townsville have beaten New Zealand 8 times in 12 meetings so they have the wood over them. This will be the third and final time these two teams meet this season with both matches played in Auckland (New Zealand) where Townsville won both 127-126 and 111-95 a few weeks back. When they met a fortnight ago the Crocodile absolutely anialated a terrible New Zealand team who are now on a run of 8 straight losses overall and 9 straight away losses. The Breakers are playing there second match in 24 hours after they lost to the Taipans last night in overtime, so fatigue will play a big part for them and Townsville will look to take advantage of this. The problem with New Zealand is that they rely to heavily on Carlos Powell, the man is a superstar who is averaging close to 30 points a game and will have eyes on the leagues MVP at the end of the year if he continues this form. Ben Pepper, Oscar Foreman and Paul Henare are really going to need to lift tonight as they have been very inconsistent lately as the Breakers just lack team chemistry. Townsville have such an aweomse list with Larry Abney, John Rillie, Brad Newley and EJ Rowland leading a very attacking side and great support in Daniel Egan & Andrew Rice. IF Townsville could sort out their poor away form then they really would be a genuine contender to play off for this years title. They have the cattle to win it, but they just look out of their depth when on the road and this is something coach Trevor Gleeson really needs to sort out and fast. But i expect Townsville to have a big win here tonight against a tired Breakers outfit who now look out of the finals race. As expected Townsville are too short to back for the win at $1.09 so we will need to look to other markets. The Over 10.5 looks a real good shot here but even thats short at $1.80 with Sportingbet. The lines on this match are -11.5 and -13.5 so i reckon they are worth a decent shot. There wouldnt be too many arguments in me saying that Townsville are a 20 point betetr team than New Zealand when at home, but whether they go on and actually thump New Zealand or just settle for the win is a different question and its been an issue all week with teams just settling for wins. But i believe the Crocodiles will go on with it tonight and have a really good win and the Over 211.5 total points line will b covered i think as these two teams are high scoring teams which concede alot of points. So check out the following: Computer Generated Prediction:

Crocodiles27282827110
Breakers2524242699
Suggested Bets to Look Into: Townsville Over 10.5 at $1.80 - (7/10) Townsville -12 and -14.5 at $1.90 and $2.00 - (5/10) Total Points Over 211.5 at $1.90 - (5/10) *** Odds are at Sportingbet. Much better prices than Centrebet tonight ***

Re: NBL Basketball - Round 16 (Jan. 1st - 7th) Thank god that round is over! Just looking back through it, it wasnt as bad as first thought. Picking 73% of winners is not bad by any stretch of the imagination, but i think thats the first time we have finished under 80%, but really there were some strange results this round which i still cant work out. 84% for the year is an awesome effort so hopefully i can continue it for the final few weeks of the season. Round 17 will kick off next Wednesday night with 4 games on and another big round overall with 12 matches on, so plenty of chances to make some money!

Pretty sure the computer predicted more than 5 points for the Kings in the 3rd, making that a correct result. :) Love your work Ads, been lurking in here for a while and you've had a great run. Keep up the good work, makes for great reading. Personally, cleaned up last night with the Wildcats Under, the Bris/Cats -10.5 double and Rogers to top score at $3.15 to boot. Will try to contribute more now I'm finally getting more consistant on the NBL. Hope your golden run continues...
