Re: A-League Round 12 - (Nov 9th - 12th) GAME PREVIEWS Actually seven of the above games ended in a 2-1 win to the opposing side of the team that had played the previous week in NZ. Maybe Adelaide are a value bet to win the scoreline 2-1 and it is currently paying around $8-50. Be no bet for me tonight and I am just going to watch the game :ok

I'm going to try something different and follow the biorhythms and take Dodd first and last goal scorer. So far though thats my only bet of the game as it looks a hard one to call.
Great bet Oscar as he was the first and last goalscorer :rollin

Good call Chiqo at good odds :ok I am liking the way Adelaide are coming together and had a slight leaning towards them but can't back a team with only 2 away goalsfor the season. I have to say that I didn't realise Nathan urns was in the team which may have swayed my opinion a bit more. I was happy to pass the game though :dude As for the Aussie gamblers, think maybe we are running out of money what with the Melbourne Cup carnival and the associated partying that comes with it :loon Great effort picking a $5-50 winner though :clap

Re: A-League Round 12 - (Nov 9th - 12th) GAME PREVIEWS Newcastle Jets v Central Coast Mariners Previous meeting Central Coast 1 Newcastle 1 (Bluetongue Central Coast Stadium, Hyundai A-League round five, September 2006) Last five results Newcastle: Loss - Win - Win - Win - Draw Central Coast: Loss - Win - Win - Draw - Draw Analysis The contrasting emotions showed by local rivals the Jets and the Mariners following their respective draws last week was glaring. Newcastle coach Gary van Egmond revealed his ebullient side felt as though they had dropped two points at home against Sydney despite being forced to chase David Zdrilic's early opener for the majority of the match. Meanwhile, a last-gasp strike also secured a deserved draw for Melbourne in last week's Telstra Dome thriller although Lawrie McKinna will have been left wondering well into this week how his troops threw away a one-goal advantage against nine men. It has been an all too familiar story continuing the Mariners trend this season of tailing off as games progress. The reigning coach of the year reacts to what he described as the worst half of football from the Central Coast by handing the same personnel the chance to prove they are capable of breaking into the top four on a consistent basis. McKinna makes just one change and that is enforced with Tom Pondeljak breaking down with a hip injury in last Friday's game. Last week, John Hutchinson returned from a fortnight on the sidelines to replace Pondeljak in the second-half and is set to be handed a start with wide midfielder Damien Brown rejoining the squad. Andre Gumprecht and Andrew Clark (both knee) and Matt Osman (groin) remain on the casualty list. Van Egmond is also forced into changes with ever-present defender Andrew Durante racking up four bookings to receive a one-match ban. Jade North slots straight back into the squad after his own suspension. Meanwhile, New Zealander Tim Brown, who scored the late equaliser last week against Sydney, drops from the 20-player squad because his short-term deal has expired with the return of Tarek Elrich from duty with the Qantas Young Socceroos. This will be the final home match for the Jets for six weeks.

These two teams have met seven times and have had four 1-1 draws, so you could do worse than have a couple of dollars on it happening again. The Mariners have a 2-4-1 head to head record against the Jets and have a one goal win over the Jets when playing as the away team. The Jets have never scored more than one goal in a game against the Mariners and that is some cause for concern. These are really strange h2h figures as except for one game where the mariners won 4-1, the rest have all been 2 goal games or less. This game might be the perfect Under 2.5 bet as it has history on it’s side.

NOTE: There is no real home ground advantage as such here as they are both from NSW and not that far away from each other in a distance sense.

The Jets are starting to score over a goal a game at home, and conceded many goals earlier in the season. The Mariners away form is not so flash, but they played well away last week in the 3-3 draw with Melbourne

The Jets sides have been scoring 2 goals a game at home recently, and the Mariners are scoring at almost 2 goals a game away, so they are very similar there.

Both sides have a similar goal conversion rate but the Jets have had 29 more shots at goal this season. It should be remembered too that the Mariners didn’t score a goal until Round 5 so they have done well to reduce their conversion rate to almost single figures.

This table suggests the Jets best chance of scoring against the Mariners is after half time, or very early on. The Mariners are dangerous in the first have, especially early, and they are vulnerable straight after the break

Tarek Elrich returns for the Jets at the expense of Tim Brown who’s contract has finished, while for the Mariners Tom Pondeljak is out injured and Damian Brown will take his place.

Interesting game here and I have been very impressed with the Jets recent efforts against Sydney and Adelaide at home, taking 4 points from the two high flyers. The Mariners themselves seem to be getting back to some of last year’s form. The away team are on their 3rd road trip in a row and they are good odds if you like them, as defensively they are very sound and they have a potent striker in Damian Mori, but I fancy the home team here.

The Jets form has been great after their defence was shite earlier in the season. A win over Adelaide, and a draw against Sydney last week where they probably should have won, is great form going into this match. Carle has been sensational in the midfield for the Jets and I can see him being the difference here. The draw in my opinion is very much on the cards here too, especially the 1-1 draw as it has already happened four times previously with these two teams. I am unable to bet AH so I am going to attack the Jets to win and save on the draw and have a little nibble at the 1-1 scoreline, as well as a fun bet for some live game interest.

BET Newcastle Straight out to Win @ $2-30 Draw saver for small profit @ $3-25

Draw 1-1 Correct Scoreline @ $7-00

Nick Carle for the Jets First Goal Scorer @ $9-50

Re: A-League Round 12 - (Nov 9th - 12th) GAME PREVIEWS Melbourne Victory injury blow MELBOURNE Victory looks like being without left-sided midfielder Adrian Caceres for next week's top-of-the-table A-League game against Queensland Roar. A top off-season signing, Caceres picked up a slight groin strain in Thursday night's 1-0 home win against his former team Perth Glory at Telstra Dome, leaving him in doubt for Friday's trip to Brisbane.

At home the Jets score the majority of their goals in the second half which is in start contrast to the away team. They are averaging 1.3 goals per game at home, conceding at a slightly higher rate, although they conceded some shockingly easy goals earlier in the season.

The Mariners score a very high 83% of their goals in the first half when playing away, an interesting stat, maybe they tire in the second half. It is worth noting that they concede a very high 72% of goals in the second half too. CCM are averaging under a goal for away from home yet they conceded at a rate of 1.5 goals per away game.

If it is even at half time then you would want to be on the Jets in the second half according to these stats.

Thanks Bejayville. You do a great job here and support the A-League. In a few years soccer is more popular than AFL if you continue your work here ;)
Thanx Chiqo for dropping by :ok Pity some others didn't drop by and get on the Jets at $2-30 :clap:clap:clap I am not sure if spiltting the A League into 2 threads is working so may have to consider just having the one Thread again next week :dude
