Re: Darts - World Grand Prix - Oct 23 My 2 outrights (placed yesterday) are T.Jenkins at 66/1 with Sporting Odds and D.Ovens 125/1 with Sporting Odds. Jenkins has won 2 tournaments in the same weekend recently and needs a good event to try and qualify for the Premier League. He also made the semis in the UK Open heat in Ireland yesterday so he's in form. Ovens beat Barney on Saturday in a warm-up event and made the final. In an easier half of the draw he shouldn't really be 125/1. He's yet to do it on TV really but who knows, this could be his week. At that price he's worth a few quid just in case. 4 bets for me tonight. 10pts T.Jenkins to beat A.Jenkins 5/6 Premierbet Terry Jenkins will be full of confidence having won 2 tournaments recently and made the semis of the UK Open regional heat only yesterday. He still has an outside chance of making the Premier League and needs a good run here to achieve that. I remember back in Las Vegas earlier in the year he hit doubles as if they were garage doors so the format shouldn't harm him. Andy Jenkins is a good player on the floor but has still not managed to cinvince me he's fully over his TV fears and hasn't performed to his best on the stage yet. I'd have Terry Jenkins a much shorter price than this even in the short format so I'll take this price. 10pts P.Manley to beat C.Mason 11/10 Ladbrokes Manley is confident around the doubles and this format should help him a touch. He's actually been scoring really well this year so if he hits his doubles crisp he'll take some beating. Mason can be very hit and miss. On a good day not many can beat him but more of his days are days where he beats himself really. Manley's another in the hunt for the Premier League and needs a result tonight. I think he'll get it too. 10pts B.Anderson to beat C.Lloyd 9/4 Ladbrokes Bob Anderson is no mug and he shouldn't be this price in a best of 3 set match. Tonight is going to be all about the doubles and if Bob hits his double to start quickly then he'll push Lloyd all the way. Lloyd is yet to win a TV match outside the Premier League in 2006 and wouldn't have wanted this game. Anderson usually hits his doubles well and I think he'll come close to pulling off an upset so at this price I'm on the value. 10pts D.Ovens to beat W.Mardle 13/8 Ladbrokes Denis Ovens beat Barneveld in a warm-up event on Saturday and made the final before he lost to Taylor. Although he's never shown his potential on TV he still has what it takes to be a force particularly in this event where doubles are imperative. He's a fluent scorer and is capable of taking Mardle out. Mardle and doubles rarely go together but they'll need to tonight if Hawaii501's to progress. In such a short format, the price for Ovens is silly and I'll climb aboard!

Re: Darts - World Grand Prix - Oct 23 is it only me that thinks Scholterns 1/5 is way way too short for this and that Diamond dave is worth a pop at 4/1?. We know Scholtern can be a scoring machine when he`s in the mood but what often lets him down is putting legs to bed. Applying that logic to the fact that theres pressure in having to kick off on a double, surely Askew in this format is decent value and worth a go at those odds. i`ll have a couple of points on him anyway.

Re: Darts - World Grand Prix - Oct 23 Not a bad night for me. 3 out of 4 and that top quarter wide open for Jenkins now. No match bets for me on Tuesday although I like Beaton like Gaz. 1 more outright though. 2pts ew P.Manley to win World Grand Prix 18/1 Stan James (1/3 1,2) Peter Manley looked good against Chris Mason and with John Part out of the way now only Wayne Mardle realistically stands between him and the semi finals. His likely opponent there is Terry Jenkins or Bob Anderson, both of which could be beatable. This format should be good for Manley as he's never shyed away from being confident on his doubles and he's scoring as well as I've ever seen him score this year. With no Taylor or Barney in his half to dispose of and Lloyd already disposed of this could be Manley's tilt at the title.

Re: Darts - World Grand Prix - Oct 23 Boylesports is going a standout 33/1 1-2 1/2 still.:cow

1 outright bet for me (not one to be hugely confident with though). Bob Anderson to win (each way) @ 25/1 (Blue Sq) I've taken the 25's here as its 1/2 each way, not the 1/3 @ 28/1 with Premierbet. He let everyone know he's still got it last night, beating a Colin Lloyd playing well. He has as good as a bye in the 2nd Round, and will probably have a toss up with Terry Jenkins in the quarters. The only worry is his consistancy, but 12.5/1 for him to get to the final is too big, and he's took Taylor and Barneveld to the limit before so wouldn't be a pushover in the final either (not that I'd expect him to win).

Re: Darts - World Grand Prix - Oct 23 I like that Anderson bet, Gaz.:ok Like you say, McCracken was the best of a very poor pairing against Walsh the other night. If Anderson brings just half of that game tonight that he put up against Lloyd then it should still be a whitewash imho.
