bobbybobby
Greyhound Laying System This is my first post on PL and have to say everyone seems very friendly. I am going to trial this system on here. No actual betting is going to take place. Going to trial it for a while and see what happens. At the moment it may identify lots of runners in a day, but I may eventually apply filters to make selection better. Here we go APPLIES TO GRADED RACES ONLY (NO OPENS) NO DISTANCES ABOVE 480m (e.g SHEFF/NOTTS/HOVE etc...) NO DISTANCES LESS THAN 400m (e.g. NO CRAYFORD) GREYHOUND HAS TO HAVE WON LTO (LAST TIME OUT) GREYHOUND HAS TO HAVE QUICKEST CALC TIME LTO GREYHOUND HAS TO HAVE QUICKEST OR 2ND QUICKEST SPLIT TIME LTO (NO TIES) That's it Stakes WIll have 2 staking systems running Bank 1 - 100pts (1pts win per selection) Bank 2 - 1000pts (10pts win per selection 2pts on 5 x forecasts (to cover if dog finishes 2nd) What I am keeping track of? I will be keeping track of track/sex/trap/which trap LTO/trap success/class/class change and lots of other things to try and help selection. We'll see what happens. traf
Re: Greyhound Betting Strategy Today's Selections Here we go Monmore 2.27 - Trap 5 3.28 - Trap 5 4.27 - Trap 1 5.27 - Trap 2 6.11 - Trap 4 Walthamstow 5.33 - Trap 4 6.04 - Trap 5 6.18 - Trap 1 Just out of interest Here is Swindon Results and selections (I know they are late) 11.19 - Trap 2 13.04 - Trap 3 13.19 - Trap 6 So, let me just see if I've got this right: Swindon: the stake is 33pts All 3 lost, but dog no. 2 was 2nd in the 11.19 returning £22.54 to a 2pt forecast. So, a loss of 10.46 at Swindon. Is that correct? PS I'm not being critical or anything, I'm just checking I've got it down right.
bobbybobby
Re: Greyhound Betting Strategy Sorry Traf, probably didn't make anything quite clear. Will clear it up in more detail this evening when I post the results. However you summed it up correct. Not looking too good at moment, but have evry intention of filtering selection procedure as we go along. Thanks for the interest.

bobbybobby
Re: Greyhound Betting Strategy What a terrible start to this system. Will not try and refine it yet. Potentially could become a lay system. We'll see what happens over next few days. Swindon 11.19 - Trap 2 (2nd) (f/c paid 11.27) 13.04 - Trap 3 Unpl 13.19 - Trap 6 Unpl Monmore 2.27 - Trap 5 (2nd) (3/1) (f/c paid - 9.59) 3.28 - Trap 5 (unpl) 4.27 - Trap 1 (unpl) 5.27 - Trap 2 (unpl) 6.11 - Trap 4 (unpl) Walthamstow 5.33 - Trap 4 (unpl) 6.04 - Trap 5 (unpl) 6.18 - Trap 1 2nd (7/2) (f/c paid 11.66) Summary After 1 Day 11 bets, 0 Wins, 2 2nds, 9 Unplaced Bank 1 Profit & Loss Today = -11pts Current Bank = 89pts Bank 2 Profit & Loss = - 154.96 Curren Bank = 845.04 I think I explained the backing system incorrectly above Bank 1 = 1pt of each selection Bank 2 = 10 pts on each selection to win + 2pts of each f/c to cover greyhound coming 2nd. Will begin to analysise the results and see what/ if anything comes up
pinhofap
Re: Greyhound Betting Strategy Hello bobbybobby, glad to know you're making money from the tipsters, the system is still on trial, so maybe you should wait another week or so to continue betting on it. As for the dogs, I looked at this for a couple of days but I know nothing of it and thought there wasn't much liquidity in it so not many chances for me. However I'll keep an eye on this thread and wish you the best of luck. That's the good part of PL, when someone wins everybody wins! bobbybobby
Re: Greyhound Betting Strategy The day finishes with a 5/2 winner. (trap 3 in 20.51) So here is the summary after 20 bets Selections = 20 Winners = 1 Losers = 19 What Strike Rate is needed for a lay system to become profitable. I certainly don't expect to keep this up, but I would be interested in knowing. I have no plans in making any bets at the moment. We'll see what happens tomorrow. Below are the SP's over the last few days for those interested. Day 1 - Swindon 11.19 - Trap 2 (3/1) 13.04 - Trap 3 (5/2F) 13.19 - Trap 6 (5/1) Day 1 - Monmore 2.27 - Trap 5 (3/1) 3.28 - Trap 5 (3/1) 4.27 - Trap 1 (7/2) 5.27 - Trap 2 (7/1) 6.11 - Trap 4 (4/1) Day 1 - Walthamstow 5.33 - Trap 4 (5/1) 6.04 - Trap 5 (3/1) 6.18 - Trap 1 (7/2) Day 2 - Oxford 11.11 - Trap 4 (4/1) 11.28 - Trap 6 (4/1) 13.27 - Trap 3 (7/2) Day 2 - Sunderland 3.58 - Trap 1 (5/1) 4.18 - Trap 6 (10/1) 4.37 - Trap 1 (3/1) Day 2 - Brough Park 6.48 - Trap 4 (6/1) 7.37 - Trap 5 (2/1F) 8.51 - Trap 3 (5/2F) The average price is about 4/1 (5.2). georgej
Re: Greyhound Betting Strategy Interesting results. Never bet on the dogs before, but this could get interesting. Is there not anywhere you could get past results from, like sportinglife? Could be a good layer if you have 3/400 bets to base it on. Possibly fixed Liability of x + √(any profit) (but only of it has a high strike rate)

bobbybobby
Re: Greyhound Betting Strategy Hi all, As promised these would have been the selections tonight. Brough 8.43 Trap 3 unpl Sittingbourne 6.28 - Trap 6 unpl 8.51 - Trap 5 unpl So the results after 4 days are 33 runs, 3 winners, (win strike rate 9.1%). Will start laying my selections tommorrow. Going to start with a £100 bank. Will lay each race for £2. See what happens. No doubt they will all start winning now. What lay strilke rate should I be aiming for? The average price seems to around 5.2. The winners haven't been huge prices. Any thoughts appreciated.
Kanga
Re: Greyhound Betting Strategy I've been monitoring a few laying systems and some work better with fixed stakes and some with a fixed liability, keep an eye on both. If your average price is 5.2 then a 23.8 % strike rate would mean you would break even - your showing a 9% strike rate so there's a nice profit in here if the results stay as they are. georgej
Re: Greyhound Betting Strategy I'd have gone for a fixed Liability ( x% of total bank) as opposed to fixed profit. Don't suppose at this stage it would make much difference. Hope you succeed. :ok

bobbybobby
Re: Greyhound Betting Strategy For some reason I'm not confident on laying this mornings selections. Romford 400m, lots of trap 3's. They can do well in particular if they have early pace, which these are likely to have because of the system rules. Anyway will stick with the laying system and lay each selection to win £2.
