ThePro19
Re: Sporting Odds Ace Tourney I got the mail but didn't get the one about the $20 so I guess i get a crack at this instead. Never got either of the emails. Come to think of it, I never get any emails from SO. But, I don't play cash tables, so I don't give a damn really. I think it is very unfair that only those who play cash tables get all the promotional offers. Tournament players have to pay an entry fee, i.e. lining their pockets, so it is about time us tournament players got a chance of getting something back. Makes me puke! :puke
Valiant23
Re: Sporting Odds Ace Tourney :rollin :rollin :rollin I'm pretty certain Danno plays as many cash tables as I do!! Tournament players have to pay an entry fee, i.e. lining their pockets, so it is about time us tournament players got a chance of getting something back. Ermm, I think this was the point of this post. Danno IS a tourney player... Have a look at his bad beats and they ALL involve chips rather than cash. At the end of the day they are a business, not a charity and they make more money from Cash Games than tournies....... You could argue that incredible promotions like Champions League include tourney players and exclude cash game players ......... In fact I would say that tournament players receive a LOT of promotions that cash game players don't.......

Blade
Re: Sporting Odds Ace Tourney I play both cash and tourneys and have had neither email. Can only think they targeted at the bigger stakes players as I play at the smallest limits.

You could argue that incredible promotions like Champions League include tourney players and exclude cash game players ......... In fact I would say that tournament players receive a LOT of promotions that cash game players don't....... Firstly GaF, I think you missed the point. I get tons of emails daily about promotions that require me to play raked hands, i.e. players who play cash tables, which I don't do. However, there are NO promotions for tournament players that exclude cash game players. For example, there are freerolls only for players who play cash tables (raked hand requirement), but there are no freerolls for tournament players only - they are open to EVERYONE. Similarly, cash game players get cashback/rakeback or whatever you call it. Tournaments with added $$$ (including the Champions League) are not for tournament players only - they are open to EVERYONE just the same. A cash game player pays no more or no less than a tournament player. And secondly, Danno may be a tournament player, but the promotion said you had to play 1000 raked hands within a certain time period which he said he might try; I didn't read it as he was a tournament player and the promotion was not for him. One day GaF, maybe not his year or next, but ONE DAY we may actually agree on something. STOP PRESS: Ok, I've seen his later post now. But my arguement still stands! :tongue2

Valiant23
Re: Sporting Odds Ace Tourney This forum thrives on information from a lot of sources, one of which is personal e-mails. I'm certain that someone who didn't recieve the $20 offer asked SO why, and was told that people are being targetted individually for certain things, which is why some recieved the $20 mail. I gotta say Pro, I agree with you about promotions being linked more to cash game players than tourney players, but I thought that your first post was directed at Danno (as a cash game player), rather than the way promo's are linked to raked hands. Whilst I agree with you and wish more was done for us tourney players (The SO Champs Lge being an excellent example), I agree with and accept what Gaf says too. Blade
Re: Sporting Odds Ace Tourney I think what he is saying is that there are tournaments with nice added bonuses that are only available to enter if you have enough raked hands. Therefore only cash players can enter these as you cannot get raked hands at most sites by playing STT/MTT's even though the rake you pay [to enter the tourney] probably more than covers enough that would have been needed to get the raked hands. In that respect, yes I agree, tourney players can be hard done by.
danno375
Re: Sporting Odds Ace Tourney But it is true on sporting odds, on this occassion... For gods sake!!!! Even the tournament we are talking about is not for cash players... we have already established that... so what are you going on about???? If you want to start a thread about cash players getting preferential treatment then do it.... but this one is about the above tourney. Can we talk about that again!!!!!!! Pokerose
Re: Sporting Odds Ace Tourney sorry not to let this drop. I do understand what you're saying pro. but I disagree quite wholeheartedly. Its not about being "hard done by" or not. A raked hand tourney is for the most part aimed at cash players to keep them spending their money at the site. Cash player contributes to the rake, cash player gets rewarded by entry in nice cushy freeroll. Cash player also contributes those value added tourneys with extra prize money that they don't normally enter because they're CASH players. Cash players rake keeps site up and running. This cash player had to make 500 hands to play on the laddies 1000,000 freeroll and didn't mind, fair exchange is after all, no robbery. I do understand the entry fees for tourneys contribute, but sites make nowhere near the amount that they do on their cash games on tourneys. Tourney players complaining they don't get enough high enough tourneys for nothing, makes me puke! :tongue2 sorry for ranting. bad day at the office

Wasn't there a 'bubble' freeroll a few of the guys on here were playing?:unsure What about all the e.g. $4000 Guaranteed freezout with a $10+1 entry with 300 entrants? Should cash players be complaining about those? Ca va?
