ZuluWarrior
Re: Winning with Massey WFTE, a quick question, love the systems by the way... Are the password protected Massey ratings included in your system, or just the public ones? [Edit - sounds better this way] The reason I ask is that as we know Massey has just run the marathon (Good Man :ok ) and hidden some of his ratings**. I am trialing a couple of systems myself, and one relies on Massey ratings to work, so obviously when some of the meetings 'disappeared' it effected the range of my picks**. I wondered if this could be a factor for you too? **Unfortunatally, I only started using Massey for analysis a couple of weeks ago and so didn't know about the donation thing until too late for this year, but I'll be bang in there next year. maria
Re: Winning with Massey Hello ... may I just correct a misunderstanding, here, please? :D It's definitely not "too late for this year". The charity donation link remains open. Details of this are available in the Forum he has kindly set up for people wishing to discuss systems based on his ratings. (There's a link to this forum on his ratings page.) I should also mention, though, that donating to the charity does not, in itself entitle anyone to Adrian's password-protected ratings. Contrary to popular belief, it's certainly not a "donations for ratings deal".

Some extra ratings are just a bit of a bonus, maybe, if Mr Massey likes the cut of your jib! I apologise if I mis-lead about Masseys extra ratings, it was unintentional! THE % MAN
Re: Winning with Massey All systems will go through highs and lows. This may be a low, the previous results may be a high. The logical explaination ( and hopefully the case) is that this low period is during the change over of codes. The main racing has switched from jumps to flat so many horses are running for the 1st time in quite a while. As I've said before if you use Massey's ratings for Turf ONLY selections great care should be taken for the first 6 to 8 weeks of the new season as his ratings do not perform, and this seems to be the case every year. His ratings for 3 yr olds must be taken on trust as no program or system can tell whether a horse as trained on or not until the season as got in full swing. Personally I only really like the flat from when the Derby as been run. At this time of the year theirs all the the Derby trials and trainers testing their best horses for the season ahead and in some cases not always showing their true colours until later in the season. WorkingForTheEnemy
Re: Winning with Massey Ive taken whats been said into consideration but will still be running the system during this period. If at a certain point results turn around I will know how to edit the system for next year. Like you say you must carry on the way you are at present and keeping an eye on the results for future ref. If you follow a system theirs a point when a bad spell will occure and if this is the same time every year then that can easily be avoided in future years. jtw1
Re: Winning with Massey I think THE % MAN is spot on with his analysis , in that, it will take time for the flat form to settle and therefore the system start to get back to regular winning ways. Take a look at the winners so far and i think you'll find the majority were over the jumps , where the form has been settled for a good few months. Keep persevering WFTE , it will turn around ;)
