ralphie7
Re: Winning with Massey WorkingForTheEnemy Good Luck mate :hope Massey ratings are very highly regarded. i used to use them as part of a system which also included Towerform ratings and ATR speed ratings it was doing ok as well then Towerform decided you had to pay for theirs which i wasn't prepared to do. the Adrian Massey sight has loads of good stuff on it. i hope it goes well :ok

WorkingForTheEnemy
Re: Winning with Massey Ralphie Ive looked at Massey's ratings many times since getting into racing a few years ago. The thing that still amazes me is how they continue to throw up a profit year in year out. Im not hoping for miracles with these as the selection process is as simple as can be but sometimes systems can get far too complicated. strangeboglikething
Re: Winning with Massey Hi folks. Has anyone tried the ratings on the racingguide site.I combined these with the racingpost ratings and have had some good wins.Massey ratings are OK but they have taken a bit of a dive over the last couple of years.Massey is a good site for analysing racing but I have to say that I have found lots of mistakes in the "reports" generated by the data base. Use the reports section with caution. Cheers Strangeboglikething
georgej
Re: Winning with Massey What are the mistakes in the reports??! Is it because of the form being only UK as opposed to UK + Ireland? Or something else you have noticed? Still classed as a noob with that site so all advice welcome. :ok
strangeboglikething
Re: Winning with Massey Hi Georgi, Most of the problems I have encountered concerns the custom reports section. You can type in a load of variables and get one result, then a day or so later the same variables bring in another result even though there has been no qualifyers for the system over the last few days. It is a massive on-line database and it is bound to have gliches. There is also a lot of inconsistency with other reports like favourites and race-types. I wouldn't say these problems are exactly earth shattering but there is definately a taboo about discussing them on the Adrian Massey forum. The problems arise when you have developed a system for outsiders. If the system produces a profit but from a very low strike rate then the mistakes in the Database could then mean the difference between profit and loss. Having said all that it is quite a good site and its free.I think the ratings have taken a bit of a hammering the last few yeras because the program that creates the ratings hasn't been updated in about 5 years.Things have changed a lot over the last 5 years and the program should really be re-vamped. chala
Re: Winning with Massey Good luck with this WFTE.:ok I tried to use massey's ratings for a backing system last year, but after a good start, it went downhill very quickly. Having said that, I still think they have a lot of substance, as I used them for my laying system, which proved pretty profitable.
