StevieDay1983
Genclerbirligi vs Kasimpasa The Turkish Super Lig is entering its final stages of the season with only 5-6 games left. This week, we're focusing on the 7pm BST kick-off on Monday evening between Genclerbirligi and Kasimpasa at the Eryaman Stadium. Both sides are still firmly haunted by the spectre of a relegation battle so winning these "six-pointers" against drop zone rivals will be key to survival. Genclerbirligi are in 13th place but only 3 points above the relegation places. Hamza Hamzaoglu had just one objective this season as the team's manager and that was to survive after their promotion from the second tier last season in 2nd place. Only 6 league games remain and win here could make all the difference between staying up and going down. Just 1 win in their last 5 league games is a concern for the team but their home form is more reassuring with the club experiencing an unbeaten run on home turf of 3 league games and just 1 loss in their last 9 matches at home. Kasimpasa find themselves in a slightly more positive position to their opponents for this game. Manager Fuat Capa has witnessed his side perform satisfactorily this season with the club currently in 11th place and 4 points above the relegation places. It was always going to be a campaign where the club would aim to simply survive after finishing in 14th position last season. Next season marks the 100th anniversary of the club being founded so it's seen as an essential aim to stay up in the Turkish top flight. The club has hit a purple patch of form with 5 wins and a draw from their last 6 league games. OK, so this is a difficult one to call. The bookies are unable to call it but slightly favouring Genclerbirligi. The ELO ratings are just about leaning towards the home side. However, you look at Kasimipasa's form and it's hard to feel comfortable betting against them. I think even though it's always tricky to ignore a home bet at such good odds between two closely matched sides I do feel the odds on a draw are more appealing.
