Roger Varian is going well at the moment and has a fine chance with his filly Margherita here. Placed twice so far including a decent third at Wolverhampton last time out and now should be ready to get her head in front. She looks to have found a weak race here and the impressive David Egan takes the ride and claims a useful 7lbs.

2:50 Ayr DUNCAN OF SCOTLAND 11/8 PP Bet365. Improved this year winning twice. He was raised 12lb last time and ran strongly in a fast pace to assert in the closing stages. He runs off the same mark here and could do with a dry day to help his cause.

4:30 Yarmouth REALIZE 11/4 Bet365 has a good turf mark and drops another 1lb in a lower class race. He has changed hands since his last run for 26,000 gns and with only beaten 1l a change of scenery could bring about improvement. Respected in this race.

5:10 Lingfield WHITECREST 9/1 PP,  Carries a 6lb penalty here, but has won off higher marks. She has a fine record in May and June and could well win again here. She is drawn 1 which is not ideal but she can break quickly and this could give her the opportunity to grab her place. Her yard is in decent form and has done well here on turf.
