Racing Chat - Saturday 19th November (Inc Scoop6 etc)

Recommended Posts

Time to get back to the Saturday double .....first race this week ...

Fixed brush hurdle

Yala enki     99.03

Caid De berlais  98.99

Knowatimeanharry  98.96

Caid Dr bearlais looks decent but as conditions will most likely be soft then Yala enki looks the choice for me ....has decent form at high levels and won't mind any cut ...trainer in good form ...I would have prefered a prep run but not a huge deal for this trainer

Yala enki 3pts win 8/1 willhill

Will post 2nd leg later

Edit ...315 ascot

Quite by chance    99.08

Vaniteux      99.03

Hard to choose here but runaway course form last time looks strong and although raised still looks very very competitive ...should run well at value 13/2 betvic

Quite by chance 3 pts win 13/2 betvic

Plus 2pt ew double with Yala enki

Tote Scoop 6

Anteros at 20/1 wiped out the remaining 48 tickets on leg 4 last week so we have yet another rollover in the Scoop6. The Win Fund now stands at a whopping £419,867 and Bonus stands at £219,104.

Last week 21 punters landed the Place Dividend which paid a very handsome £1,356!

This week we have three races from Haydock and another three from Ascot, the fields are not too big but we still have a competitive afternoon ahead.

Selections

Leg 1: Beware The Bear 11/2 Skybet

We kick of at Ascot with a 9 runner Novices' Handicap and last years winning combo (O'Neill/Geraghty) team up with Forthefunofit but he showed nothing last time out. Two last time out winners head the betting and they may well be the ones to concentrate on. Expedite won over hurdles at Exeter wearing cheek-pieces for the first time and maybe improving. Nicky Henderson who does so well here saddles Beware The Bear who makes his chasing debut off a mark of 130.

Leg 2: Wood Yer 11/2 Paddy Power

Our first visit to Haydock and a real slog of a stamina test in store here. The ground will be on the heavy side and this 3m4f will take some getting. Rigadin De Beauchene represents Venetia Williams and will certainly stay in these conditions but is a bit hard to predict these days. Wood Yer has won in heavy ground but is stepping up in class this season, he should be fit enough first time out.

Leg 3: Mia's Storm 7/2 Betfair

Back to Ascot for a Mares Handicap and although there is only 8 runners the race is a wide open affair. We have 4 last time out winners and two mares chasing hat-tricks and the Paul Nicholls runner Lifeboat Moan will have plenty of supporters. My fancy is for Mia's Storm from the Alan King yard. She won well last time we saw her over this kind of trip and is hard to knock.

Leg 4: Yala Enki 8/1 Skybet

Probably the most competitive race of the day with 15 runners lining up for this Grade 3 handicap hurdle. The Skelton's won it last year with Baradari and they team up with Two Taffs here and he has a very good chance and showed his well being by winning a weak novice race the other day. I like Yala Enki with the useful Harry Cobden on board, he progressed well last year and should go well at a price.

Leg 5: Coneygree 2/1 Bet365

Main race of the day, the Grade 1 Betfair Chase. Just 7 line up for this and on paper we have an intriguing clash between Coneygree and Cue Card. I personally think it rests between these two and will side with Coneygree on this occasion. He makes his comeback from injury and according to all reports he's fit and well and should be ready to perform at the first time of asking.

Leg 6: Vaniteux 11/4 Bet365

Last leg and a very good quality 2m Chase which features Sire De Grugy off top weight. He's rated 160 so very difficult to win a handicap and is taken on by the classy Vaniteux from the Henderson yard who receives 6lbs here. Others in the line up on lower weights are Quite By Chance from the Tizzard stable and Some Buckle who is the bottom weight from the Tom George camp.
