Verdict:

Intriguing contest to get the card under way at Musselburgh and many will be on the Nicky Henderson runner Brain Power after his victory at Kempton. On this occasion I like the chances of Always Resolute for the North and Brian Ellison. At this moment in time he has the more experience and the speed to cope with this ground and track, I just think Brain Power may end up a much better horse in time. Kim Bailey’s Charbel looks a solid type and it will be interesting to see how the Skelton youngster Azzuri gets on here.

Altruism could be a bit of EW value in the 1.00pm if we don't get any NRs and 8 go to post

He was a good horse on the flat, rated in the 90s and winning a Newmarket maiden for Godolphin. He then won two summer novice hurdles before being put away for a break

Came back and finished 4th in a Listed race on his return on ground that was almost certiainly unsuitably soft

Todays better ground should suit and has Dickie Johnson up
