Verdict

I have always been a follower of Irving ever since his novice days and was delighted to see him back to his best after a difficult time towards the end of last season. He looks an improved performer to me and should be followed while in this mood.

I respect the chances of Wicklow Brave but I’m just not sure if race last time in Ireland was a true run race. He was match fit that day and may have been flattered?

Long Distance Hurdle

Verdict:

I’m torn here between siding with Cole Harden and giving him a chance as it’s his first run of the season. I just think he may be a decent horse when fresh. On the other hand I do like the progressive nature of Thistlecrack and I’m sure we have yet to see the very best of him. He just might need this but will be of interest in the spring at Cheltenham and Aintree.

On this occasion I’m going with the World Hurdle winner and hope he can make up for last season’s defeat in this contest.

Wicklow brave  has been installed as fav and warrants plenty of respect but irving to me looks a genuine grd 1 horse ...oozes class and just  looks a horse going places ...3/1 looks better value than the fav and worth a play

Both these two are a little clear in this race ...both big improvers and could be more to come conditions suit both so they can fight this out hopefully  ...prices allow a tag team ....play for me
