BillyHills
Scoop6 - Saturday November 14th No winner of the Tote Scoop6 last week so the Win Bonus starts at £86,063 tomorrow. The day’s action is dominated by the jumps card at Cheltenham, which features the Paddy Power Gold Cup at 2.25. One race from Wetherby completes the line up where we have five races live on Channel 4. Leg 1 : 1.15 CheltenhamAn intriguing little six-runner affair in which the Pipe yard won last season with the useful Kings Palace. This time round they have Un Temps Pour Tout lining up but the yard are out of sorts at the minute and I’m not fancying the skinny prices on offer. A better value bet maybe Blaklion, he was slightly disappointing on his chasing debut but is a course winner and the trip will suit him much better this time.Selection: Blaklion 9/2 bet365 (Un Temps Pour Tout) Leg 2 : 1.50 CheltenhamA very competitive long distance handicap chase is next on the card and the bookies are struggling to find a clear favourite here. The McManus horse Upswing was a nice winner last time out and he looks an improver and has to go on the shortlist. I like Azure Fly from the Charlie Longsdon stable and is much better than the 7th place he ended up last time out. A very talented individual when in the mood and should go well here at a big price.Selection: Azure Fly 25/1 Paddy Power (Sausalito Sunrise) Leg 3 : 2.25 CheltenhamThe Paddy Power Gold Cup, won last year by the Nicholl’s yard with Caid Du Berlais. The yard are represented by both Sound Investment and Art Mauresque. Sam Twiston-Davies rides Sound Investment who won a Grade 2 contest last time out and will have to improve again from top weight. Oscar Rock is an improving sort who won at Market Rasen in the summer and should go well again while Boondooma is a smart prospect but has to prove he’s as effective over this longer trip.Selection: Oscar Rock 16/1 BetVictor (Boondooma) Leg 4 : 3.00 CheltenhamAnother very competitive handicap but this time over hurdles. Betavir represents the Pipe team and will be well fancied after landing handicaps at Ascot and Wincanton last season. Poor run on his first attempt at 3m is a worry and has a bit to prove for me. Both Dark Spirit and Atlantic Gold come here in terrific form as does the Skelton horse Sir Mangan who was chasing last season but won at Fontwell over timber last time out. Milan Bound is another last time out winner but will need to step up in a much tougher race.Selection: Dark Spirit 12/1 Paddy Power (Sir Mangan) Leg 5 : 3.15 WetherbyThe only race from Wetherby featuring in the Scoop6 is a very tricky puzzle. 12 runners line up and any of them could be fancied to win it. Sue Smith who always does very well here has two runners and the best of those looks to be Vendor who used to be with Alan King. He’s dropped down the handicap and is starting to look dangerous. John Quinn saddles Arthurs Secret and he looks to have a decent chance. He’s been running on the flat so will be fit and is on a fair mark of 119. Of the others I like Hartside, he’s the only C/D winner in the field and is a very consistent sort who wins in his turn.Selection: Hartside 14/1 Skybet (Arthurs Secret) Leg 6 : 3.35 CheltenhamA Class 3 handicap hurdle to finish off with and a wide-open affair. Market leader Herbert Park is yet another David Pipe horse coming back after a lay off. He won two races over hurdles last season and now starts his handicapping career off a mark of 132. It’s a fair enough mark if he’s fit enough to do himself justice. The Henderson runner Champagne Express just edges it for me, he won at Chepstow in February and was then placed in better company at Newbury. This type of race should be well within his capabilities and has to go close.Selection: Champagne Express 6/1 BetVictor (Herbert Park)
