3.45 Newcastle Really strong staying handicap. Deauville Dancer improved rapidly when stepped up in trip in typical style for a Prescott runner. Interesting he brings him upto Newcastle and certainly shaped as if there was more to come on recent comeback run at Bath. Up a 1lb for that and could clearly have a lot more to give but skinny enough price for me. Longshadow won on return to action this season, up 5lb for that and this clearly demands a lot more. King Of The Picts might be the value option, Grade 3 winner over hurdles. Not in much form over hurdles lately although pitched in at a high level. Last won on the flat off 75 running off 77 and could be well treated returning to the flat stepping up in trip which should prove no problem and could bring about more improvement. 1pt e/w King Of The Picts 9/1 Hills 3.25 Brighton All 6 of these would be in with a chance, Flexible Flyer won last time out but he isn’t the most straightforward and wouldn’t be the obvious sort to follow up. Noverre To Go ran one of his best efforts for sometime when second in soft conditions at Chepstow, he isn’t as good as he once was but will appreciate this return to faster conditions. 12lb below last winning mark has to have a good chance in this small field and does have form around here. 2pt win Noverre To Go 5/1 pp 5.05 Brighton Another small field where most can be given a chance, the old boy Shifting Star won around here over CD that wasn’t much of an event this is gonna be a tougher ask with a 3lb rise. Hanno wasn’t beaten far at Lingfield, but he remains a maiden with plenty of placed efforts to his name and clearly not straightforward. Pick A Little could prove hard to beat in search of a three timer having dropped a long way in the weights. Has won off marks into the 70’s previously now 6lb higher than last win but still running off 68. Also interesting that a useful apprentice has been given the leg up claiming a very useful 7lb, hard to beat. 2pt win Pick A Little 2/1 pp
