Re: Mid-week Non-League 30th March - 1st April Dartford - Gateshead This is a very stange game. Hosts are 11 points from safety with only six games remaining and are virtually certain to be playing Conference South football again next season. Gateshead have struggled in the league after their FA Cup exploits and now sit effectively nine points off fifth (with goal difference), which is the final play off spot. They have not won in three and this will be the fourth in a run of five away starts in six games inside 18 days. Not only that, but they have had to do so with a squad decimated by injury with JJ O’Donnell, Phil Turnbull, Andrai Jones, John Oster, Ben Clark, Matty Robson and goalkeeper Adam Bartlett all missing, Bartlett has missed the last two and they have conceded five in his absence, Oster is the playmaker and I discussed him ahead of the playoff semi final second leg with Grimsby Town last season....First leg ended 1-1, with Gateshead taking an early lead, but Town largely dominating afterwards. The Mariners let the visitors dictate the pace through the opening quarter or so, but upped the tempo , started to press in the offensive half and took control, not allowing Heed playmaker John Oster (Everton, Sunderland , Wales), who has been pivotal in their upturn in fortune , any time to work his magic. He was influential early, but had little impact after the change was made by the Town coaching staff and with it, the hosts got on top.Gateshead have got a few other veteran players in their squad and despite a very good 2014, I have noticed that the few occasions they have struggled, have been with a quick turnaround and I am not sure another works in their favour this evening. So they are missing their keeper, two starting defenders, playmaker and overall, five of their usual starting line up. Also against them is their tough recent schedule and now a six hour bus trip in midweek (far an away their longest midweek journey), following a disappointing home loss on Saturday, for what might well be a meaningless fixture and we discussed last season how they occasionally struggled with these quick turnaround games. In their favour, is the fact that Dartford are not very good ! Having said that, the hosts will have to gamble for the win , as will Gateshead and my gut instinct is that odds of circa 4.0-4.50 for the home win seem too big, given the circumstances. Not a match for getting overly involved in, but I will suggest two bets, a little on Dartford -0.5 ball 4.0-4.50 (0.75 units) and also 1.25 units "over" 2.5 goals 2.06 asian line/Sportmarket. Gateshead have scored four goals in their last two (conceding five) and seem less hard hit up front, but given their defensive issues, seem unlikely to be able to keep even Dartford out for too long at the other end.

Re: Mid-week Non-League 30th March - 1st April What about Wrexham to beat Dover? Wrexham sacked manager Kevin Wilkin after Sunday loss in FA Trophy Cup final against North Ferriby. For this match will be in charge assistant manager Gary Mills and first-team coach Carl Darlington. This will surely affect on players after terrible loss on Wembley, I believe in positive way. Now, how good or bad is Dover? Latest results showing that they play very good at home but in away games they are not so reliable. Sure they still have a chance to grab a play-off, therefore motivation will be on their side. Is Wrexham worth to risk @2,65 at my local bookie with medium stake? Any opinion?

My guess is it will have a negative effect to be honest especially coming on the back of the FA Trophy loss a game they really should have won after being 2-0 up and pretty comfortable with it. They have nothing left to play for now so can imagine the players might struggle to get up for this one. Dover still have an outside chance of a play-off place so have that motivation although they do have a long way to travel, which I am never a fan off when it is a part time side. Having said that they have had an extra day to recover from the weekend and Wrexham played for 120 minutes. I actually think Dover are a bet all things considered although the value is going as they are being well backed.

Re: Mid-week Non-League 30th March - 1st April Mills has also gone...and I never quite knew what he was doing there. I have heard some horror stories about the "training" whilst Wilkin and Mills were there and the substitution of Keates on Sunday was a joke. As stated...undoubtedly the team (most of whom start again tonight) will feel flat. I'm not playing as the value has gone but Dover have a chance here, tempered by the fact that Mills is not involved on our side!! Sent from my HTC One_M8 using PL Forum

Re: Mid-week Non-League 30th March - 1st April According to match Bradford PA-Gainsborough this is written on Bradford PA official site: 12:45pm "A local referee has inspected the pitch and has passed it playable AT THIS TIME. However, the forecast says more rain will come, so there will be a further pitch inspection at 4pm. There is some standing water in one small area of the pitch, but with no or little further rain we are confident this will clear. Unfortunately, we do have to simply wait and see what the weather will bring us." That means playing conditions will be probably awful...
