After a pretty one sided Test series, New Zealand and Sri Lanka join the rest of the world in getting ready for the World Cup by playing seven ODIs over the coming weeks. ODIs in New Zealand are always exciting with the small grounds and this should be no different. All seven matches are live on Sky in the UK. Schedule:

Re: New Zealand vs Sri Lanka - ODI Series ODI Series preview: 3pts Sri Lanka to win ODI series 2/1 Skybet With New Zealand having a couple of injury concerns to sort out in the early part of this series and their weakness against scoring quickly off quality spin I think Sri Lanka offer a bit of value here. The longer the series goes the more likely they are to have Lasith Malinga back which will be a big boost and you sense they are just a little more settled than New Zealand so at 2/1 they’re my series pick. Re: New Zealand vs Sri Lanka - ODI Series Series top bat previews: 3pts K.Williamson Top NZ Series Batsman 12/5 Bet365 You have to be a good player of spin to profit against Sri Lanka and without a doubt New Zealand’s best player of spin is Kane Williamson. It just so happens that he is in fantastic form as well and I think he is the man to beat here. Williamson has shown he can play himself in and then attack and I expect him to score big runs in this series. He should play all seven matches so he’ll be hard to beat. Sangakkara is rumoured to be retiring after the World Cup so I’m sure he will be looking to maximise every match he has left in Sri Lanka blue and I expect him to really fill his boots in this series. Even at 9/4 I see no reason to oppose him. Full preview here: http://www.punterslounge.com/new-zealand-vs-sri-lanka-odi-series-betting-kumar-sangakkara-can-lead-the-run-list-for-the-tourists

Re: New Zealand vs Sri Lanka - ODI Series 1st ODI preview: 4pts New Zealand Most 6s 4/5 Skybet Given how short the boundaries are this ground is going to be pretty tough to defend so I’m not really interested in the match odds here. One bet which does interest me is New Zealand to hit the most sixes. We’ve seen throughout 2014 that Sri Lanka don’t hit a lot of sixes and if we think back to the Test match Brendon McCullum went mental with sixes here so I’m expecting New Zealand to hit the most in this match. Re: New Zealand vs Sri Lanka - ODI Series 2nd ODI preview: 4pts S.Senanayake's Performance Pts - 30&Over 5/6 Bet365 This isn’t really a ground to be betting on the match result because it is almost impossible to defend with the short boundaries. The better bet could be to jump on Sachithra Senanayake’s performance total. Since he returned from having his action reviewed he has taken seven wickets in three matches including two in the first ODI. New Zealand are notoriously poor at playing spin and miss their best player of spin in this game in Williamson so I fancy Sri Lanka’s mystery spinner to go well again here. Re: New Zealand vs Sri Lanka - ODI Series 3rd ODI preview: 4pts Sri Lanka to win 3rd ODI 5/4 Skybet I’m not usually one for betting on the match on this ground because once again it is impossible for a side to defend it but it might be a little easier for Sri Lanka to defend a score here because at the minute New Zealand’s batting line up is literally Brendon McCullum or nothing so if he goes early New Zealand could struggle. Sri Lanka look a lot more solid with the bat and that can provide the difference here. Re: New Zealand vs Sri Lanka - ODI Series 4th ODI preview: 4pts B.McCullum Over 26.5 runs 4/5 Paddy Power Brendon McCullum has been in fine form in this series with a 50 and a century in the opening two matches and there is absolutely nothing that Sri Lanka have with the new ball that is going to trouble him so I expect him to go well again in this match. He has been very aggressive so far but with Martin Guptill finding form again in Auckland he may not need to be as attacking here which should help his chances to go past 26.5 runs again. Re: New Zealand vs Sri Lanka - ODI Series 5th ODI preview: 4pts T.Dilshan's Performance Pts - 36&Over 5/6 Bet365 We’re at the stage of the series and the closeness to the World Cup where team line ups are going to change which puts me off betting on the matches themselves so I’ll stick to player markets here and the player I like in this match is Tillakaratne Dilshan. He has a performance line of 36 for this match which he has covered in eight of his last nine completed ODIs. He has covered it with the bat in the last two matches of this series but with his potential for scoring with the ball and in the field this looks an achievable line again. Re: New Zealand vs Sri Lanka - ODI Series 6th ODI preview: 4pts L.Ronchi's Performance Pts - 34&Over 5/6 Bet365 Once again we’re at the stage of the series and proximity to the World Cup where I’m not interested in the match result and will again target the player markets. I’m surprised Dilshan’s performance target has only gone up one point given he made a second century in the series in the previous game but it is Luke Ronchi I like here. Ronchi set all kinds of records with the bat on Friday and has looked good with the willow all summer. With the quality of seamers New Zealand have he’s always in the game behind the stumps and having covered a 34pt total in three of the four completed games so far I like him to cover it again here. Re: New Zealand vs Sri Lanka - ODI Series 7th ODI preview: 4pts M.Guptill Under 31.5 runs 5/6 Paddy Power Martin Guptill’s form has to be a concern for New Zealand leading into the World Cup. He made 28 in the last game in Dunedin but he should’ve been out three times rather than the one time he was out. He has a runs line of 31.5 for this match which he has covered just once in the series and even that didn’t look too convincing. He has only passed that total once in four innings in ODIs on this ground too so I’m happy that the line is too high.
