Re: Ligue 2 > October 3rd - 6th Nancy v Ajaccio 80% of Nancy's home games ended up in a draw. 78% of Nancy's games had under 2.5 goals in total. Nancy conceded at least 1 goal in 80% of their home games. 78% of GFC Ajaccio's games had under 2.5 goals in total. I can see a scoreline like 1:0,2:0 or 1:1. My bet in this match would be under 2,5 but odds around 1,47 are too low for me. Maybe I will use it in some kind of accumulator still not sure...as I said a nice write up from Meatman would be awesome. GL

Re: Ligue 2 > October 3rd - 6th Ajaccio – Niort There is a bad feeling around the media with Ajaccio at the moment, supposedly they are in ‘crisis’. Sitting just two points above the relegation zone after 9 games wasn’t part of the plan this season and a few fans are starting to get restless. But when you look into their record in more detail, ACA haven’t been ‘that’ bad. They actually only lost 1 of their first 7 fixtures and what’s followed was an unlucky loss at home to Le Havre (0-1) and then a 2-3 reverse last week at Creteil when they played with 10 men for the last half hour. Ajaccio haven’t been pulling up any trees but they’ve been reasonable enough. I see no reason why they’re such a big price tonight. ACA are known for being much stronger at home, whilst Niort are nothing special this year under Regis Brouard. Besides, the visitors miss key players Bong, Lahaye, Koukou and Roye to injury, which puts pressure on what is a really small squad. There’s a tense atmosphere surrounding ACA ,but the players know this is a ‘must win fixture’ and I expect them to deliver @ generous odds. Prediction: Ajaccio 2-0 Niort Recommended bet: Ajaccio -0.25 @ 2.10 5/10 Nancy – GFCA GFC are remarkably up to 3rd in the table, but I can’t see them staying there. Actually, they are a team who needs to be respected at home, but on the road I’d say they’ve been far more flukey and lucked out with a number of results. Nancy are just starting to fire properly and I’d expect the Lorraine outfit to have too much for them tonight. They lacked goals earlier in the campaign but the addition of Mana Dembele has strengthened their attack. Nancy are a very hard side to beat but I think they realise the importance of getting 3 points tonight. Despite GFC’s impressive stats there is quite a gulf in class between the two teams. Quite simply, this is likely to be a step too far for GFC, much in the same way they lost at Angers a few weeks ago. Nancy remain one of the power teams in Ligue 2 and demand respect. @ this sort of price I can’t resist taking them tonight, their extra quality should prove key. Prediction: Nancy 2-0 GFCA Recommended bet: Nancy -0.5 @ 21.95 5/10 Angers – Creteil This is a battle between a couple of fairly good teams. Home advantage might ultimately prove key but Creteil can’t be underestimated. They are a pretty well balanced outfit with decent strength all over the field. The visitors are also hard to beat, only suffering defeat a couple of times this season. I think this is a tough one to call and a draw wouldn’t surprise me. In truth, all three outcomes are equally possible, it’s just a question of who plays better on the night. Angers draw too many at home but have plenty of quality in their ranks. I’m not going to bet in this game because I lack a proper ‘feel’ for it. Prediction: Angers 1-1 Creteil NO BET Arles – Chateauroux I have said for a while that Arles aren’t as bad as their results might suggest, therefore I’m really disappointed that they’re priced up so short tonight. Why are they only 1.75? What have they actually done to deserve such short odds? For some reason the bookies are really clued up here and giving nothing away, which is frustrating. Arles have now added 16 new players to their squad, the latest arrival is Pascal Chimbonda who could make his debut tonight. It’s clear they are still trying to gel, but have shown a number of positive signs, even if their results aren’t great. Really tonight, they should have too much for Chateauroux, one of the poorest outfits in the division. The visitors also have a couple of injury concerns and their coach Pascal Gastien is suspended from the sidelines. I’m fairly confident Arles will win this match but who could back them @ this price? It’s sadly a no bet situation. Prediction: Arles 3-1 Chateauroux NO BET Dijon – Clermont Dijon’s home record has to be respected but Clermont are playing fairly well right now. It must be said that they’ve started to click into gear following as dodgy start to the season and on Monday night they impressively beat Troyes 1-0. This will be much harder for them because they’re coming off a shorter week of rest and travelling to one of the strong fortresses in Ligue 2. Ultimately, I think DFCO will get the job done but I’m not interested in backing them @ this price or on a -0.75 line. If they win, it’s likely to only be by one goal in a closer affair than what many predict. Clermont really aren’t that bad and have a number of weapons in the final third who are in form. They could surprise. Prediction: Dijon 2-1 Clermont NO BET Nimes – Laval Both teams have drawn a lot of matches this season, so another stalemate is likely tonight. Nimes are missing their best player Cissokho who completes the 5th of his 6 game suspension. Without him they lack a lot of creativity. Nimes also miss their best defender Fethi Harek so are obviously weakened tonight. Laval also miss an important player, Hassan Alla but apart from his loss they are at full strength. Nimes are actually a tempting price here but I couldn’t be confident backing them. My feeling here is for a low scoring match, something like 0-0 is a major contender. Prediction: Nimes 0-0 Laval NO BET Orleans – Le Havre After a solid start to the season, Orleans have lost their way a bit in recent times. The Saints have lost three straight games and I wouldn’t be at all surprised if they came away empty handed again tonight. Le Havre are in-form and suddenly picking up results. They are also a team who historically play well away from home so should be able to get the business done. This won’t be the most exciting contest, but I’d be surprised if HAC lost it. No bet for me but I fancy the visitors. Prediction: Orleans 0-1 Le Havre Sochaux – Auxerre I like Auxerre to cover here, the gap between these two teams isn’t that much. The visitors actually have the better strength and quality on paper, yet Sochaux are odds on tonight! For a team that has struggled at home this season, there’s no way I could be backing them @ that price. In fact, I’m going to do the opposite for 3 units. Auxerre have impressed me enough in recent weeks that I’m willing to have a nibble on them +0.5. I just don’t get why they are considered such a strong underdog here, if anything they are the better team! Prediction: Sochaux 0-2 Auxerre Recommended bet: Auxerre +0.5 @ 1.90 3/10

Re: Ligue 2 > October 3rd - 6th He didn't say he would bet on them. I only played what meatman said it's bettable (3 games) and it's a profitable day AGAIN. Thank you mate! 2 won and 1 half loss. Good choices as far as I'm concerned. A question: you said in your season preview, in your power ranking that you expect Angers to promote. Why didn't you bet on them regularly? The even line odds are too short? They won again 3-0 and I think some results for Angers like that have been before. Aren't they a reliable team?

Re: Ligue 2 > October 3rd - 6th

i think you have some kind of obsession with arles mate. you keep tipping them but they keep losing. better skip them next time doh
Well, I actually swerved them tonight and I have the bookies to thank for pricing them so short. I actually watched the full 90 mins and Arles shouldn't have lost the game. I'd say a draw would've been fairer. In all fairness, Chateauroux probably aren't as bad as most people think, they have picked up a few decent results this year now. I am still convinced Arles will become a strong force in this ligue, especially in the second half of the season. On paper they have some good quality players now, but as I previously said, when you sign 16 (yes, sixteen) new players then it's always going to take some time for players to gel together. Maybe their coach might get sacked at some point soon if they keep losing, but long term it's a team I believe in. I certainly don't want to miss the boat when they start winning so it's just a question of picking the right time to back them.

Angers haven't actually been as good as I expected and I don't personally consider them fully reliable yet. Perhaps they can now be considered reliable at home now, the problem tonight was that I actually rate Creteil at the moment so I was never going to take them on. It was the same last time they had a home match facing Auxerre (ended 0-0). When they face poorer sides at home I will back them. On the road it's obvious Angers can't be relied upon yet

Re: Ligue 2 > October 3rd - 6th i'm not blaming anyone here but you should seriously reassess you tips on arles because it leading some people to trust your judgment and inevitably lose money. arles have now had four straight defeats. it seem to be one of your most confident tips tonight but yet again they prove that they are crap so some insight on why they keep losing when you think they should win would be beneficial and also just because they signed 16 players doesn't mean they are quality. typically teams bring in few good quality players and the team improves but when teams bring so many it suggest they are try outs, young, unproven and have a lot to learn so maybe you should lay low the optimism on them until they prove themselves otherwise.

Teams can have unlucky runs like this though, it is just an unfortunate period. Honestly, the last 2 home games it really is baffling how they've suffered 2 defeats, they actually were the better team in both encounters.

Re: Ligue 2 > October 3rd - 6th Troyes – Valenciennes The interesting thing here is that Troyes welcome two completely new players into their squad for the first time. RB JM Pereira is set to make his debut following a move from Guingamp, whilst fellow summer signing Mory Kone is likely to be benched. Suddenly, Troyes should be a bit more solid defensively, despite the loss of key man Mamadou N’Diaye who’s been out of action for a while. Troyes have ditched Guillaume Lacour after a couple of poor performances and should be significantly upgraded at RB now than Pereira is available. They are also boosted in attack with the return of key man Ghislain Gimbert, who missed Monday’s loss at Clermont because of injury. Valenciennes travel here in better form having won their last two consecutive home matches. Their squad is in fairly good condition too with few absentees. VA can’t be underestimated at the moment and they are actually playing some reasonable stuff. But Troyes have the extra quality, which will probably see them over the line tonight. It’s worth nothing that the hosts have lost 3 of their last 4 matches through, so have shown some recent vulnerability. Despite this, I am going to predict them to win today, but there’s no way I’m interested @ such short odds. For those who like to play IR then it could be worth watching this game for an opportunity. Prediction: Troyes 2-1 Valenciennes NO BET

Re: Ligue 2 > October 3rd - 6th I watched the Arles game from the beginning to the end. The pitch was bad and the team was unlucky. And also Chateauroux stopped the bus carefully in some parts of the game. Actually i was at O2.5 and was happy after 7th mins goal. But this is football and i can easily say if the first goal comes in 10 mins (especially from the visitor team or not favourite one), then the game has a strong possibility to finish like that (as other example like Reims). That's really frustrating. Because of the frustrating results (another example like 2 goals in 3 mins stupid game of Le Havre) from yesterday on I've omitted French League 2 for some time. As a brief prediction for Troyes – Valenciennes game, i'm expecting a draw like 1-1. That's because the home form of Troyes and the away form of Valenciennes not seem perfect. Backing a home team like Troyes with this low odd can be a joke in a league like this :) Have a nice weekend :)

Re: Ligue 2 > October 3rd - 6th Brest vs Tours – Win for Brest @ 1.85 Marathonbet Brest is undefeated on the last five games of League 2, where they won two of them. They are the better team of this duel, with higher hopes and goals. They are very good at home, they are counting 3/4 wins and only one draw, they didn’t concede at the last three games. Brest is coming from an away draw 1-1 against Chateauroux, a fair result, that brought them to 7th position. Tonight they have the chance to win and climb to second position. Have in mind the interesting fact that Brest has the best defence (conceded 3 goals) but the worst offense (scored 6 goals). Tours on the other side is on bad form. They lost 5/6 last games, grabbed only three points against Orleans almost 20 days before. They are very vulnerable defensively, conceded at least one goal at last six games, their psychology isn’t good. My pick is win for Brest.

Re: Ligue 2 > October 3rd - 6th

Still like Brest' date=' but hate the price. No bet from me unless odds rise. Just can't be backing odds-on shots in this league, non profitable[/quote'] I don't think it will, 2 days ago it was around 2.00 and it keeps going lower. But we couldn't risk betting it some days ago, something could've happened in the meantime.

Re: Ligue 2 > October 3rd - 6th If Tours is as poor a side as everyone seems to be claiming it is, I think slightly below odds even is still a good price. How about that other game in the Bundesliga 2 between Leipzig and Heidenheim? Is a home win good to back? Feel free to reply at the appropriate thread :)

Re: Ligue 2 > October 3rd - 6th Yes it's one of those where I think they will win, probably something like 2-0 but the price is just too poor to back. They are as short as 1.75 now which is really really bad value on a team like Brest who don't score that many goals
