Re: Tour Championship > September 11th - 14th On the basis that the winner of the FedEx Cup across the past 2 seasons came from a player within the Top 5 entering East Lake, it seems prudent to cover off a member of the current T5. McIlroy is the obvious selection, Mahan likes East Lake, Horschel is hot and Kirk loves Bermudagrass greens. However I'm on Bubba Watson who is learning to get on well with East Lake and hit plenty of fairways at TPC Boston - always the sign that he's in great nick. 18/1 seems a decent price. But we have to remember that the Tour Championship is actually it's own tournament with 24 other players looking to capture a huge title for their CV. If your outside the Top 5 in the FEC you have far less pressure and could ultimately win the whole thing like Haas and Furyk and 2010/11. Haas, Kaymer and Spieth all have real chances this week on Bermudagrass greens that they like. However I plumped for Webb Simpson, who I nabbed at 40/1 yesterday. Up and down is the right way to describe Webb this season, but there is a pattern is as much that he's played well on courses he likes.

Re: Tour Championship > September 11th - 14th Ryan Palmer Top American 22/1 paddy power the last few weeks he really is playing in top form and i was suprised he did not make the ryder cup so here he can bring his form to this tournament and play well here and at this price it is worth a bet Bill Haas lowest score of round two 20/1 paddy power He has previous form on this course and is also having a great season so at this price i dont think you can ignore it Ryan Palmer end of round leader 28/1 paddy power Bill Haas end of round leader 22/1 paddy power Bubba Watson end of round leader 20/1 paddy power These two have been impressive and are going into this in top form with palmer playing great for the last few weeks and Haas with course form also Watson coming into this off a great result last week

Re: Tour Championship > September 11th - 14th Tournament preview: 2pts ew S.Garcia to win Tour Championship 14/1 Ladbrokes (1/4 1-4) Sergio Garcia has been in very good nick for the last couple of months and he would have pushed Horschel a lot closer last week but for a loose approach shot to the 71st hole which saw him post a snowman when he was right in contention but despite that I think East Lake suits him well and without the implications of the FedEx Cup at the front of his mind I think he can clear his head and finally land the title he’s been threatening all year. Re: Tour Championship > September 11th - 14th Top American preview: 1pt ew C.Tringale Top American 55/1 Bet365 (1/5 1-4) One man it could pay to be with this week is Cameron Tringale. This isn’t the easiest set up and the last time the emphasis was on hitting fairways and greens he was second at Ridgewood back in the opening week of the playoffs. He finished last week with a pair of 68s so he’ll be feeling good coming in here. Another reason why he’ll be feeling good is he went to college down the road at Georgia Tech so he’ll feel at home this week. Only Adam Scott has played as few tournaments as him since the US Open and freshness could be a key factor this week after a brutal run of events recently so at the biggest price of the lot Tringale could just land decent odds this week. Re: Tour Championship > September 11th - 14th Billy Horschel EW 22/1 Paddy Power After recovering from one of the worst shots anyone has ever played in the professional game to winning a tournament within a week speaks volumes about Horschel's resolve. Many a golfer may have let that horror shot on the eighteenth fairway at the Deutsche Bank weigh them down. Horschel jumped back on the bike and how. He looked comfortable on Sunday taking the BMW by 2 shots from Bubba. I fancy that timely shot in the arm will be carried into this tournament and with a 7th place finish last year the course should hold no great fears for the Floridian. Mc Ilroy in at 7/2 fav is always a danger, however his course form may give his supporters some worries. On course form I rate Justin Rose as the main danger. GL

Re: Tour Championship > September 11th - 14th

Does anybody think that betting on Mcilroy this week would be a good bet
You have to weigh up the odds here Owen. Personally I think that Mc Ilroy is layers material this week. He was generally 7/2 at the off, which means you would have a slight loss if he only made the frame. He has only competed once here in the last four years, finishing T10 in 2012, 9 shots off the lead, Undoubtedly the most talented golfer in the world at the moment, Mc Ilroy's Achilles heel would appear to be the loss of concentration. This usually comes out of the blue but tends to hang around until he purges the system with a 64 or so. Two four putts on the par 3 twelfth at last weeks Deutsche Bank would be a hacker's nightmare (let alone world No1) and a layers dream....nothing more than a huge lapse in concentration. The layers have drifted him to 5/1 this morning to tempt the bait chasers. You can never tell with highly talented individuals, he may well tear it up at some stage. It's a pretty tough field to crack this week and Mc Ilroy's mind may be in Gleneagles or elsewhere. I believe he is not a good bet at the odds.
