Re: Sky Bet League 1 > September 5th & 6th Source : William Hill Opta Stats League One Opta Facts 5-6 September Coventry v Gillingham Coventry City have lost only one of their last 17 home league encounters with Gillingham, winning 11 (D5). Both teams have scored in each of the last six competitive meetings, with 28 goals being scored across these clashes (average of 4.7 per game). Former Coventry City striker Cody McDonald scored for the Gills in this exact fixture last season. Coventry have shipped four headed goals this term, a league-high. Danny Kedwell has bagged four goals in five league games this season, this after failing to register in his previous nine for the Gills. Bradford V Yeovil The Bantams have failed to score in their last two versus Yeovil (D1 L1), though both games came in the 2006/07 campaign. Yeovil have kept one clean sheet in their last 12 away fixtures in league competition (W2 D4 L6). Bradford City have afforded their opponents a league-low 11 shots on target this season. James Hanson has bagged five goals in seven games in all competitions this term. The Glovers have yet to keep a clean sheet in League One this season. Bristol City V Scunthorpe Bristol City have won four and drawn two of their last six home clashes with Scunthorpe United in league competition. The Iron have won just one of their last six league meetings with the Robins, losing four (D1). Aaron Wilbraham has netted four goals in five appearances in league competition this season. Indeed, the last time Wilbraham netted four or more league goals in a single season was 2009/10. Scunthorpe have yet to keep a clean sheet this season. The Robins have recovered a league-high six points from losing positions in 2014/15. Crawley V Rochdale The Red Devils have lost only one of their last six at home in the league, though it came in the most recent match versus Bradford City (W3 D2). Rochdale have conceded exactly two goals in each of their last three away matches and are without a clean sheet in five. This will be the first ever competitive meeting between the two sides. No League One player has been directly involved in more goals than Rochdale's Ian Henderson (6). No team has been shown more yellow cards this season than Crawley Town (11). Oldham V Fleetwood Oldham are winless in six at home in the league, drawing five and losing one. This will be the first ever competitive meeting between the two sides. Oldham have scored just nine goals in their last 13 at home in the league and never more than once in this run. The Cod Army have won four of their last five on the road in league competition (L1). Jonathan Forte has bagged four goals in five games for Oldham this term. Jamie Proctor has scored three goals from three shots on target this season for Fleetwood. Peterborough V Port Vale Peterborough have kept a clean sheet in eight of their last 10 at home to Port Vale in league competition (W6 D3 L1). Port Vale have failed to find the back of the net in three of their last four against the Posh (W1 D1 L2) Tom Pope has fired in more shots on target than any other player in League One this season (12). Kyle Vassell has bagged four goals in five league games for the Posh this term, this after failing to score in six league matches in 2013/14. Vassell (15) has also committed the most fouls in League One this season but has been booked only once. Walsall V Colchester Walsall are winless in three against Colchester United, losing twice (D1). Colchester striker Freddie Sears has scored in each of his last two appearances against Walsall. Colchester have fired in a league-high 78 shots (incl. blocked) this season. Walsall have fouled their opponents fewer times than any other League One side this season (37). All three of Tom Bradshaw's goals in Walsall colours have arrived in the second half.

Re: Sky Bet League 1 > September 5th & 6th Coventry v Gillingham The Friday night game live on sky will be Coventry's first back at the Ricoh Arena in a couple of years since they were displaced to Northampton. Tickets are in short supply, 400 people queued up before the club was open at 9am this morning to try and get hold of one, there should be a big crowd as about 22,000 have been sold so far. I fear for us as we have a largely young and inexperienced side who - as in the great traditions of recent Gillingham sides - tend to crumble away from home. We were 2-0 up away to MK Dons in the opening game of the season and ended up losing 4-2 before getting battered 4-1 away to Barnsley. We have a few injury problems, first choice keeper Nelson is injured but to be fair his replacement has been very good, midfielder and big summer signing Loft is injured, right back Hoyte got himself sent off midweek so I presume he is suspended for this. Coventry signed a couple of players before the transfer window shut, Frank Nouble used to play for us and was a very good striker - if he plays he's sure to score! - Simeon Jackson, another ex-Gills striker is away on International duty. I hope I'm wrong but I can see a pumped up team in front of a huge crowd - in L1 terms - putting us to the sword.

Re: Sky Bet League 1 > September 5th & 6th 4pts Gillingham/Draw double chance vs Coventry 1.95 Ladbrokes I’m always wary of taking sides on big nights like this and I certainly can’t do it at odds on. Coventry are a fairly young side and it will be interesting to see how they cope with the big crowd and expectation on them. Gillingham are in a great position here. They’re confident and they’ve got plenty of freedom to play with and they can take advantage of that. I think the visitors can get something from this one. After your this put I checked the squads. I put the squads links right below. If there are errors in calculations or squads please let me know. COVENTRY: http://istatistik.nesine.com/TeamStatistics/IndexPopup.aspx?sportId=1&teamId=208&languageId=1 GILLINGHAM: http://istatistik.nesine.com/TeamStatistics/IndexPopup.aspx?sportId=1&teamId=228&languageId=1 Some adding and dividing for both squads Coventry's avarage age nearly 23,8 on the other side Gillingham's avarage age is 23,9 . These numbers include all players even any player hasnt participated in any League 1 match. AFter excluding players who havent got a chance to play avarage age for Coventry is 24,5 and Gillingham is 24,6 . I put only starting 11 players on this calculations even they have got only 1 chance for starting eleven. As you can clearly see there isnt a huge difference according to age variable. But for instance GKs of Gillingham have age over 30 , on the other hand GKs of Coventry have age almost close to 20! If we look that variable according to players' positions Coventry's defense and midfield are mixed with young and experienced ones. But forward line consist of rather 25-30 . On the other hand that forward line hasnt scored much yet :) Gillingham's side is also well distributed. Maybe goal line is older but forward line has managed to score well. But also Gillingham isnot known for their away goals. I amnot aware of newcomers so I have only looked their positions and clearly from my point of view Coventry's forward line has lack of players to chose from. Returning to home base may give them a fantastic atmosphere . I am thinking this not as a concer for new players according to my age calculations. So I am on DRAW bet. I may chose UNDER 2.5 too. I dunno what style of playing those teams prefer in the field. If anyone knows please let me know. So I can change my prediction. Thnks

Re: Sky Bet League 1 > September 5th & 6th Coventry v Gillingham Coventry at 5/6 and I would also consider Coventry -1 (odds of 5-1) Both with Ladbrokes Both teams have played 5 games. Also both teams have played Swindon, Barnsley & MK Dons. Coventry had the better record against these 3 teams as they remained unbeaten. Gillingham lost 2 of those games. However I think we get as much useful information again from knowing that the other 2 games that Gillingham faced were against teams that are 19th (Yeovil) and bottom (22nd : Crewe), whilst Coventry faced teams that are 8th (Bradford) and 12th (Sheff Utd). Basically Coventry have played stronger teams and done better than Gillingham. If we look at the stats: Col 1 = Attempts at goal - with shots on target (Both Gillingham and Coventry are Col 1) Col 2 = As above but for the opponent Col 3 = Corners - Coventry or Gillingham are stated first then the opponent. Coventry seem far more effective then Gillingham across all statistics. Also Gillingham never do very well when away at Coventry. In their last 17 games Coventry have won 11, draw 5 and lost 1. All these factors lead me to conclude Coventry at 5/6 and I would also consider Coventry -1 (odds of 5-1) Both with Ladbrokes [TABLE]

Re: Sky Bet League 1 > September 5th & 6th Scunthorpe manager describes his injury crisis as the worst he's known in 30 years.Where as Bristol City sit 3rd top and have competition in the striking department, which is always a good thing. With City being such a short price (Bet 365 8/13 ),i will need to find another team to make a double.
