Re: Ligue 2 > February 21st - 24th There is only one potential bet I fancy tonight (Tours) and even with them it's only because the price is way too big, I'm not actually sure if they will win. Need to think about a few things in other matches, I will post back some brief previews later in the day. But overall I can't see myself getting involved tonight much, it just looks a very awkward card.

Re: Ligue 2 > February 21st - 24th Looks like a tough week here, but on Friday night I see goals almost everywhere, except Arles and Auxerre...In all other five encounters I see at least one of my favourite ''overish'' teams here. Considering five Overs with small to medium stakes, plus a 4-game combo with BTTS in Tours, Niort, Troyes and Laval.

Re: Ligue 2 > February 21st - 24th Tours – Dijon For the hosts, they miss key winger Kouakou who isn’t included in the squad because of disciplinary reasons. Tours don’t have an other real absentees and welcome back important playmaker Bryan Bergougnoux who has been sorely missed in recent weeks. Dijon have had injury problems of late, especially in midfield but are in much better condition ahead of tonight’s game. Some guys are on the sidelines but I think it’s fair to say they have no significant injuries or suspensions at the moment. I was very very close to backing Tours DNB here. There is absolutely no doubt that their price is too high. Anyone who takes Tours tonight WILL definitely be backing a value bet and I personally know a few pro punters who have taken them as a ‘no brainer’ pick. However, I just can’t be sure Tours will win! They have looked pretty poor of late (5 losses in 7 games) and there appears to be a few internal issues too. It’s true their home record is good but Dijon have only lost 2 of their last 21 ligue matches! They are rarely beaten and loads of their away matches end up as draws. So I will reluctantly pass on Tours, but I will have a piece of the over 2.25 goals line. Tours are one of the most attacking teams in ligue 2. I’m not sure about exact numbers but loads of their games end over and it’s rare any of their home matches are tight and low scoring. Amazingly, 50% of Dijon’s away matches (6/12) have ended 0-0 this season. BUT whenever they have faced an attacking side their matches have often gone over. Dijon do actually have good attacking potential when allowed space behind the defence, it’s highly likely that Tours will allow them that tonight. Overall I predict an open game of football that could go either way. This is why I just can’t bring myself to bet on Tours despite the really nice price. I feel the chances of a draw or away win are quite possible. If I was sure Tours would at least draw then I’d take them DNB, but I think they could lose based on recent form. Prediction: Tours 2-2 Dijon Recommended bet: Over 2.25 goals @ 2.08 4/10 Arles – Nimes This is going to be a very boring low scoring match – they always are in Arles. The pitch here is shocking and I just don’t expect many chances to be created. The first team to score will probably win it 1-0 but the most likely outcome is definitely 0-0. This is also a local ‘hot’ derby match so neither team will want to lose. I expect a very physical game of football where both teams expand a lot of energy and effort, but quality levels will probably be low. I think the bookies have their lines spot on and from a betting perspective I see no value. Prediction: Arles 0-0 Nimes Auxerre – Angers I actually like the visitors here and they were nearly a bet of mine, but in conclusion I don’t think it’s worth the risk. The line is +0.25, so for a bet to win fully, Angers would have to get 3 points. I do think they’ll obtain victory but Auxerre have a great home record this season (only one defeat) which has to be respected. Having said that, they’ve played like an absolute sack of shit recently and I don’t have much confidence in AJA right now. Angers are very good away from home and this looks like the sort of fixture they should enjoy. But there’s not that much value on them now and it’s usually not a good idea to back away sides in France unless there are loads of factors in their favour. Prediction: Auxerre 1-2 Angers Laval – Istres There’s no doubt that Laval have played solid football recently against some tough sides. They’ve picked up some very creditable draws but they will mean NOTHING if they can’t win matches like this. The main problem that Laval have is beating direct rivals in the lower half of the table, it’s as if they freeze under the pressure. Sadly there’s another chance of that here, especially as Istres have quite impressed recently. Les Violets seem like a team on the up and will enjoy being underdogs here. The match should be pretty open and I like the chance of goals being scored, although the state of Laval’s poor pitch kinda puts me off any bets. In my mind all 3 results are possible and no outcome would surprise me, I’ll predict a draw but this could go either way. Prediction: Laval 1-1 Istres Le Havre – Chateauroux This is a difficult one because it all depends which version of Le Havre turns up. Will it be the one which was woefully beaten at home to Nimes a couple of weeks ago, or will it be the side who completely outplayed Lens away from home on Monday night? If Havre play to their best then they’ll win, but there’s no guarantee of that. Besides, Chateauroux have actually been looking quite decent of late and could spring a surprise. They even managed to end their 34 game run without an away win by thumping CA Bastia 4-1 on the road last time out. But this might prove to be a flash in the pan, they are renowned for being pretty awful on their travels. I think I’ll side with Havre to win this match by a small margin, but there’s no betting attraction for me in this game. Prediction: Le Havre 2-1 Chateauroux Niort – Caen Very good match-up is this one. Caen are the better side but Niort are in-form and pretty hot at the moment. I actually think they are punching above their weight though. Niort are just a solid team who bank on keeping things tight at the back. They don’t actually create that many chances and they don’t dominate opponents, it just feels to me like this is a good run for them where a lot of things are going their way. Can they really keep performing like this and still pick up results? I don’t think so, especially as there is more pressure considering their ligue position, suddenly fans are even thinking about promotion. Having said that, I have a feeling that Niort will win tonight. Caen are renowned for choking in away games against top 10 opposition, why should that suddenly change tonight? Home win for me but the bookies are spot on with their lines so no bet. Prediction: Niort 2-1 Caen Troyes – Nancy Difficult one here between two sides I’d class as virtually even. Troyes have looked a bit off-form recently but they still have great potential in their squad. Nancy have been better of late but they rely a lot upon star man Jeff Louis. Can he keep performing and maintain his great goalscoring run? Well, I wouldn’t bet against him but sooner or later he’ll produce a flat performance. I actually don’t know how this match will end and I see no clear betting opportunity. Maybe the overs could be considered but Nancy could just aim for a draw and park the bus which would tighten the game up considerably. Prediction: Troyes 1-1 Nancy

Re: Ligue 2 > February 21st - 24th Le Havre - Chateauroux Le Havre showed 2 faces last games, don't know who will win here. But i know that Charearoux is in a good form and i know that they were very bad away from home, but they scored the first goal 2 times away from home last 4 games. They lost the games when they scored first and it's a risk today because i can't see who is the better team tonight. Last four away games they scored 4,2,2,2 goals... So i am on the underdog with good form. Form knocks quality ;) So my bets for this game: First team to score 1st half: Chateauroux 4.2 @ tipico Chateauroux to score @ 1.65 tipico HT/FT 2/2 11@ tipico FT Score 0:3 150 @ tipico

Re: Ligue 2 > February 21st - 24th I feel you meatman, really frustrating when your first thoughts are actually the right ones but because of some small doubts you decide to pick something else.. Tours delivered well and the odds were huge indeed! I totally skipped tonight's games but I will have some bets for the Metz game tomorrow at 14:00. FC Metz will host Clermont Foot at their own Stade Saint-Symphorien. We often mentioned the early kick-off as an important factor in these kind of games. Saturday afternoon is often a profitable time of the day for the home sides. Last 4 out of the 5 home teams won their game recently. I will keep backing the home sides if it looks tasty enough to me. Metz are still league leaders with a 5 point lead over 4th place Dijon who lost tonight. If metz manages to win this game they will have a 8 points lead which is ofcourse great for their promotion race. They had some ups and downs recently but their win at home against Caen showed that they are still one of the best sides in Ligue 2. Their home record is amazing : 9-3-0 overall with a goal difference of 36-21. They often score more than one goal at home but I think even one goal should be enough to take the 3 points here. They've kept 3 cleansheets in their last 5 home games against some decent sides much better away sides than Clermont to be honest. They will miss a bunch of players for this game but these are the only 2 regulars that really matters to notice : Midfielder Sarr [20 games 1 goal] and forward N'Sor [10games 3 goals]. No problems at all for Metz cause they have a wide and quality squad. Decent replacements enough for these two! This is Metz squad : Gardiens : Carrasso, M’Fa.

Défenseurs

: Bussmann, Choplin, Inez, Marchal, Métanire. Milieux de terrain : Kashi,

Lejeune

, N’Doye, Ngbakoto, Rocchi, Sido. Attaquants : Fauvergue, Sakho, Vion. Probable 11 will be : Carrasso, Choplin, Marchal, Metanire, Bussmann, Rocchi, Kashi, N'Gbakoto, Lejeune, Sakho and Fauvergue. Clermont Foot on the other hand are safe in mid table but they are really struggeling for goals lately. Only 1 goal in their last 5 games is really poor while they conceded 5. That's why they only took 2 points out of their last 5 games. Their away record is 2-4-5 overall with a goal difference of 8-13. It's clear they hardly score goals on the road and away against the best home team in the ligue, you really need goals to atleast avoid defeat. But, it will only get worse for Clermont cause they are without 2 regulars for this game. Defender Lippini [17 games 0 goals] but their most important loss of all is their topscorerr G.Bettiol [19 games 4 goals]. They have a decent replacement for Lippini but I'm not so sure about how they will cope with the missing of Bettiol. Metz is a solid side defensively and Clermont must play an amazing game in my opinion to collect points in this fixture. Their morale and confidence can't be sky high after such a negative streak so I doubt they will be spot on here. This is their squad that travelled to Metz : Gardiens : Farnolle, Scolan. Défenseurs : Avinel, Bockhorni, Da Silva, Imorou, Salze. Milieux : Betsch, Ekobo, Hamdi, Moulin, Salibur, Vidémont. Attaquants : Dugimont, Nkololo, Saadi. Their probable 11 will be : Farnolle, Avinel, Bockhorni/Imorou, Da Silva, Ekobo, Moulin, Videmont, Hamdi, Salibur, Saadi and Nkololo. All in all, I expect a strong performance of the home side. They have an excellent chance here to make a huge step towards promotion. Their motivation should be really high and on their home ground they are very hard to beat. Can't see Clermont leaving with any points here on saturday afternoon. I'll try 2 bets for this game. FC Metz to win around 1.70 with medium stakes. FC Metz to win to nil around 2.40 small stakes. Goodluck guys.

Re: Ligue 2 > February 21st - 24th Totally agree with your bets and line of thinking for this game Senk. Metz – Clermont Team news is favourable for Metz. They do have a few guys out injured, but nobody of substantial importance. The XI that takes to the field today will be their strongest possible team. Clermont on the other hand have a couple of new players added to their infirmary. Key right back Anthony Lippini is out for the season with an ACL injury, striker Gregory Bettiol is out of this match because of a knee problem. They do welcome back important winger Yanis Salibur, but he’s unlikely to be very match fit, perhaps only starting from the bench. Metz had a very poor January but have hit back well in the last two weeks. They beat Caen at home legitimately and then played a nice game at Nimes last week. They were unlucky to only draw that match but I definitely saw some very encouraging signs from them. When at full strength, Metz are a real handful, probably the best side in the division. Their issues have been because of injuries and suspensions. This small squad struggles to cope when that happens, but there’s no such issues here. This should end up as a routine home win. For a start, they are playing in the early kick off time which has a massive trend towards home teams in France. It’ll be difficult for Clermont to play well here, much better teams often have issues this early in the day when playing on the road. The other problem Clermont have is that they’ve looked like a sack of shit recently. Their main issue is in attack, they just can’t get goals. Clermont honestly don’t look like scoring in a brothel at the moment, and that’s no exaggeration! I think there’s a very high chance of a Metz clean sheet today and I expect them to win easily. Something like 2-0 or 3-0 is likely. The only possible danger I see is a 0-0 draw but Metz usually have too much firepower not to score. Backing them -0.75 looks very attractive to me ands worth pretty high stakes. Prediction: Metz 3-0 Clermont Recommended bet: Metz -0.75 @ 1.95 7/10

Re: Ligue 2 > February 21st - 24th Well, the game went as expected, Clermont looked toothless upfront and Metz mostly dominated the game with their posession play. They thankfully scored atleast 1-0 in the 75th minute. Bit late but perfect result for me. Although a second goal would made us all winners.. So unlucky meatman they didn't convert any corners into a goal. 2-0 was on the cards for sure today. 1-0 FT! cu next week guys.

Re: Ligue 2 > February 21st - 24th Still very happy with a 1-0 win, especially considering I had high stakes. It pretty much gets back my loss on the Tours match last night. I thought Metz were pretty disappointing to be honest. They should be easily winning this type of match but made hard work of it. I think they deserved 3 points but 1-0 was totally fair, they didn't deserve to win by any more than that. Clermont fought pretty hard and performed better than I expected, but it felt to me as if Metz weren't really 'on their game' It might be that they aren't as good as I thought they are and January's results weren't a freak. Clermont as usual though didn't look like scoring in a brothel so one goal was always going to be enough today. Both of Monday's games look awkward so unless team news strongly favours someone I doubt I will bet again this round.
