Re: Sky Bet Championship > February 15th & 16th [h=1]Source : William Hill Opta stats Championship Opta Facts| February 15-16[/h] Birmingham City v Huddersfield Town Birmingham have let in only seven goals in their previous 12 league games against the Terriers, though they have conceded exactly once in each of their last five versus them. Huddersfield have won only once in their last nine visits to St. Andrew's in the league, though this did come in their most recent trip. The Blues have gone ten league games at St. Andrew's without tasting victory (D6 L4). Only once in their league history have they gone 11 home fixtures without a win, in April 1963. Huddersfield have lost five of their last six Championship away games (D1). Since arriving at the club, Federico Macheda has scored three goals in as many games. 88% of the goals conceded by Huddersfield this season have come from inside the area, a Championship-high share. Bournemouth v Burnley Bournemouth have failed to score in three of their last five league home games against the Clarets, though they did put five past them in November 1998. Burnley are unbeaten in four league matches against the Cherries (W2 D2). Four of the six league goals scored by the Cherries in 2014 have come from Lewis Grabban. The Clarets have gone eight games without defeat in the Championship (W4 D4). Bournemouth have let in 39 goals from inside the area this season, more than any other side in the division. Sam Vokes has found the net four times in his last three away league fixtures for Burnley. Doncaster Rovers v Barnsley Doncaster have won just two of their last nine league encounters with the Tykes (D2 L5). Barnsley have kept three clean sheets in their last six trips to Doncaster in the league, but have also failed to score on three occasions (W3 L3). 60% of the goals Doncaster have conceded this season in the Championship have come in the final 15 minutes of each half (10 between 31-45 minutes, 17 between 76-90 minutes). Barnsley have picked up just six points on the road this campaign, the fewest accrued by any Championship side. Rovers have scored just 11 times from open play this season, the lowest tally in the Championship. Chris O'Grady has scored four times in his last four games for the Tykes, though all of these goals came at Oakwell. Ipswich Town v Blackpool After being winless in four against the Tangerines (D1 L3), Ipswich have won their last two league games against them by a single goal. Blackpool have never beaten Ipswich at Portman Road in league competition (D4 L6). Ipswich have scored in each of their last nine games at home, the longest current run by a Championship side. Only Charlton (1) have taken fewer points than Blackpool have so far this calendar year (2). David McGoldrick has scored in each of his last three Championship appearances for the Tractor Boys. Blackpool have lost each of their last seven away league games, the most any side has lost consecutively in the Championship this season. Millwall v Bolton Wanderers Millwall have won once in five league games against the Trotters (D1 L3). Bolton have only won once away at Millwall in their league history, a 1-0 win in March 1995 (D1 L13). The Lions have scored just three times in their last five home league fixtures, conceding nine in the process. Bolton have gone eight league games without a victory (D3 L5). Only Blackpool are on a longer winless run (13 games). Millwall have scored just two headed goals this campaign, a league low, yet have let in 13, the most from any Championship side. Just 3% of Bolton's goals this season have been scored in the 15 minutes following half-time, a league low share. Watford v Middlesbrough The Hornets have lost just one of their previous five league games against Middlesbrough at Vicarage Road, though this did come in last season's fixture. Middlesbrough's last league clean sheet away at Watford came in October 1990 - they've conceded in each of the nine meetings played there since. Watford have been shown 60 yellow cards so far this season, the most in the Championship. Boro have kept three clean sheets in a row, the current longest run by a Championship side. They last kept four sides out consecutively in October 2011 (a run of five games). The Hornets have scored 10 times in the opening 15 minutes this season, the highest tally from a Championship side. Middlesbrough have also failed to score in four league games. The last time they failed to find the net in five was in February 2009 in the Premier League. Queens Park Rangers v Reading QPR have lost just one of their last eight league home games against Reading, though five of those meetings have ended all square (W2). Reading have won just once in their last nine league meetings against QPR (D5 L3). Only Danny Drinkwater (1441) has completed more passes in the Championship this season than Joey Barton (1371). Adam Le Fondre has scored a goal every 107 minutes in the Championship, the best rate of any player to have scored five or more goals. Nobody has kept more home clean sheets than QPR this season (8). Reading have failed to score in four of their last six away games in all competitions (L4), though won the other two in which they found the net.

Re: Sky Bet Championship > February 15th & 16th Any thoughts on the best Championship bet this weekend? I normally bet on the prem only but there's no games this weekend. Was thinking Watford as they seem to be getting it together a bit now but Middlesborough only lost one of their last 10 and now 3 nil nils in a row! Burnely away perhaps a better bet?

Re: Sky Bet Championship > February 15th & 16th Watford - 0.25 @ 1.925 - bet365 V Middlesbrough. Watford look like the nap of the day to me, along with Southend as I agree with the preview in the League Two thread. The double returns just over 4. I feel Watford are having a bit of a revival under Giuseppe Sannino and have won three out of their last four home fixtures, only losing once, and conceding once in that period to Reading. Crucially Boro have also dryed up of late with only one goal scored in their last five and having failed to score in their last two away encounters. New signing Lee Tomlin is still unable to play today so will sit out the third and final game of his three match suspension. Boro have a generally awful away record as it stands. They've only beaten Millwall, Blackpool and Charlton away all season, losing seven of their away games. Boro will struggle against a resurgent Watford who look like they've found form at the right time, and appear to have improved immensely at the back.

Re: Sky Bet Championship > February 15th & 16th Birmingham v Huddersfield 11/8 home win Birmingham won the earlier meeting this season 3-1 at the John Smith's Stadium in November. Huddersfield have won only one of the last 12 league meetings. Their only league win since 1996 was 1-0 at St. Andrews in the Championship last season. That win at St. Andrew's is Huddersfield's only victory there in the last nine meetings. Given the above and what I said in a post earlier in the week about Birmingham playing well at Watford (though they lost 1-0) , and Huddersfield top scorer out (limped off in mid-week against Forest). I would expect a comfortable victory by 3 or 4 goals. 3-0 is 20-1 , and 4-0 is 50-1 Birmingham City's on-loan Manchester United striker Federico Macheda says Blues are capable of finishing much higher, after making a spectacular introduction to his career. Having come off the bench to level late on against Derby on his debut, Macheda went one better, hitting both goals, in Saturday's 2-0 win at Charlton. Federico Macheda has so far netted three goals in 117 minutes of playing time at Blues. For the outrageous forecast doubles Macheda 1st goal & 3-0 (66-1) and Macheda 1st goal & 4-0 (150-1). I'm going to laugh when it ends 0-0 , but a saver on Birmingham & Draw still pays 38% (1.38) great for multiples !

Re: Sky Bet Championship > February 15th & 16th Watford v Middlesbro. BTTS 3/4 Middlesbro haven't scored for 4 games. They came very close at home to Blackburn . Their last 3 games have been 0-0. These sides played out a 2-2 draw at the Riverside Stadium in November. I think Both Teams To Score BTTS at 3/4 is reasonable. And cover 1-1 , 2-1 and 1-2 at odds of 6-1, 9-1 and 11-1 respectively. If Middlesbro score it is likely that Carayol or Danny Grahams will score for them , Carayol is 4-1 to score at any time , Grahams is 7/4. Middlesbrough midfielder Mustapha Carayol is battling to overcome a slight muscle strain and will face a late fitness test. Obviously stakes back if he does not start when placing his bet.

Re: Sky Bet Championship > February 15th & 16th Bournemouth vs Burnley History Burnley more like a fairy tale , rather than the actual event. The team from Lancashire was on the verge of relegation to Ligue 1 last season, only in the end of the season, scored 7 points in the last 3 games to maintain residence , but left the club in the offseason even topscorer Austin, which lured into QPR so that the new season did not promise anything good for the fans , experts considered them as the main contenders for departure. Was purchased a little-known Ings from Bournemouth , who was reunited with ex-teammate Vokes, and was taken from Huddersfield Arfield, with which the management did not want to renew the contract. Who would have thought that this trio , for which a total of 1.4 million pounds paid , score 38 goals in 30 games, especially Ings (19 goals) and Vokes (14 goals). For the last 7 days for Burnley stood out just great , first managed to beat Millwall 3-1 at home , followed by a Lancashire derby away Bolton was replayed and the team is now in 2nd place , 3 points ahead of QPR , the truth one game in hand , but it still needs to win. In case of victory in this meeting Burnley already come off by 6 points from QPR that Sunday will have a hard match with Reading. Bournemouth - is a newcomer in the Championship. Typical middle team , now in 15th place +11 points off the relegation zone and -12 points off the playoffs , that is in fact the team can finish the game season , in such hands, motivation Burnley , which nosebleed need a victory , should play an important role. Furthermore it is expected a lot of support by fans , going to leave about 1,500 fans of Burnely. As for compo news , then the hosts will be without left defender Daniels (21 games) and central defender Ward (21 games). Guests no problems , as we have noted above , Vokes and Ings will play against former team , which is an additional motivation for them. In general , taking into account addition, the form in which there is a pair of forwards Burnley and generally the whole team , coupled with a huge motivation and losses in the defense before the match for the hosts , we should see if not confident , then at least the minimum victory , safe Handicap 0), which we will gladly do take it Burnley (0) AH at 1.83 Marathonbet

I won't say this was the easiest result I thought it might be but a wins a win. Shocked at Southend given how tight they've been, conceding two goals in the final ten minutes... and Exeter racked up one of the biggest corner counts I've ever seen too, with 18 corners!

Re: Sky Bet Championship > February 15th & 16th 4pts Reading (+0.5AH) to beat QPR 1.95 Bet365 QPR look to have hit a bit of a flat patch and I’m not sure I want to be backing them at even money here. They looked poor on Monday night and one thing Reading have in them is goals so I think they can take something out of this match. They were unlucky to go down to ten men last week but barring anything unforeseen like that here I think the visitors can escape without defeat. I'm really sorry about this. Really saw it as a chance for Birmingham to get a home win. Birmingham City boss Lee Clark: "That was probably our worst performance of the season and that's not taking anything away from Huddersfield, who played well. "It looks like we have people who fear playing in front of their own supporters. It's outrageous. The fans have not turned on us. "Their goalkeeper probably had his easiest day in football. You need to have home fans on the edge of their seats, we're not doing that. It's nonsensical. "We try to convince ourselves about total football but that's not the British way. The fans want to see excitement. "I put the big man Nikola Zigic on and we still didn't put balls in. Their defence and keeper must have not been able to believe their luck."

I thought this was unlucky. Middlesbro had 65% of possession and 15 attempts at goal (4 on target) . They also won the corner count 7 to 2. Having had two bad results I put a bit more on the Man City v Chelsea game evening game, for the wrong reason mainly (I though Cahill was injured), but got out flat on the day see here posted 10.38am 15-02-2014 http://forum.punterslounge.com/threads/146762-FA-Cup-gt-February-15th-17th
